I use old southern speech 🙈 "NO MA'AM!" "SETTLE DOWN!"
Me too - get on your spot but I say it “got awners pot” 🤣
Can confirm. My grandma has spent loads of time training dogs. She is German and she says it's way better to train them in German. Its easily recognizable for the dogs which makes it much easier for them to listen to your commands
I bet you could train a dinosaur using german.
@@ZACKARDO too bad we will never know...
@@Ghazanfierce never say never.....
@@ZACKARDOas a german i can confirm, we are training dinosaurs
I have seen circus big cats trained in German, it’s the perfect language.
I have trained my dog in english, german, hand signals. If he can't hear my voice due to noise he can read my hand signals. Very useful with a large gsd
I do the same! They respond better to my hand commands then my voice commands
I've always done vocal commands and hand signals with a finger stap to get there attention. Works well and they listen to either.
Love hand signals for when I'm sick, have lost my voice, or when my anxiety is too much and I can't talk loudly or clearly. Hand signals have been unbelievably helpful.
@@mickbxx...,..😊.
Don't underestimate hand signals! I used them, along with verbal commands, with my beagle as soon as I adopted her. In her senior years her hearing started to fade away. I could still communicate with her without having to scream.
I trained my Rotties in German and my Groenendael in French. For my group classes, they knew English. Then, they learned from watching the other dogs respond. Soon, they were all tri-lingual.
Yes, dogs are so smart.. our Cane Corso understands three languages also, albanian, english and macedonian 😊😊😊 he is obedient and so inteligent 🙂
@@mimozasula7739 my dog (hes a medium german Spitz mix we got in Albania ) also understands english and albanian ( and more ) he isnt that intelligent , but some times he can be
I talk to all the dogs around here in Spanish. Of course, "around here" happens to be in Peru.
I have taught my dog in Japanese and the command for come is koi so its easy for people to grasp that but i also have some English commands that aren't typical commands just for my family 😂
Japanese is such a great language for commands. I don't know why more people don't use it, super easy to yell them very loud when needed.
@@ihatepenuts1 absolutely agree lol
That’s great! My poor dog, when I’m tired who knows what language he’s going to get. When he looks at me like I’m crazy, I try again. 😂
Did this for my Cane Corso. Used Latin.
Phsyco
"Hündin, halt deinen Blödmann, ich bringe meinem Hund Deutsch bei" -sun zu
Jaaa zer gut meine fruind ❤
Wow! Sehr schön
"b**ch, shut your idiot, im teaching my dog german"
"halt dein blödmann" doesn't make sense xDD
Guten morgen alle
Guten morgen alle
When I had my half great Dane, her basic commands (sit, wait, leave it) were in English, however her protection commands were in Japanese.
Omae'wa mou shind'e iuru
@@jayrkwr4983 sorta. At the time I'd only just begun studying Japanese so I used Google translate to help me with the words. At the time it worked.
@@jayrkwr4983 NANII?!?!?!?
Lmao i did the same but basic commands in portoguese ( im in Italy so almost no One can understand them even if their Just basic commands) and the protection commands were mostly japanese
You can also use foreign swearwords for commands then XD
I tried to train my dogs in Chinese, they ran away like there is no tomorrow...
Dude that was so wrong but I laughed anyways. X
@@phantomwolf3300 😂😂
Similarly, I've taught my dogs a hand gesture for each command alongside the spoken (English) command. It has actually come in handy because I have two big dogs that don't exactly get along (they don't fight or anything, they're just not "friends" lets say lol). So I can more easily train/command/control them both separately by giving one of them a silent command when they're near, so the other one doesn't hear and come running, interfering with what I'm trying to accomplish 😊👍
that's what I do too. but the spoken language is Dutch. I have a dog from Greece and handgestures work much better with him.
Parents are Mexican, we live in South Jersey, and I have twin nieces that were born deaf. My American Staffordshire Terrier Pancho & my cousin's Pitbull/Bulldog Muggs were both trained in English (Not Jersey Shore), Spanish, and every command in both languages has a finger snap with hand motion.
Hand signals are one of the things I find most useful, even if my dog is super distracted if I wave my hand through his viewing area and show him the sign for sit even if he’s not listening to me because it’s a loud environment and I don’t speak loudly, he still knows what I want him to do.
Very logical explanation of the pros and cons. Thanks.
I use 3 different languages for different commands because I always pick the shortest word with less syllables.
I use the same word for a command though.
Same! Whatever language has the shortest and most distinctive sound, that's the winner.
Just handed over one of my Mals to a potential new home today and their Mal has commands in Spanish and English while mine has them in English, German, Dutch and French 🤣
I've trained my lab-Newfoundland dog to respond to English and Spanish commands and he does such a good job. I'm waiting for our new pup to reach a year old and learn the normal commands well enough before teaching it to him
Why not teach him now?
@@jeanetteiacovone1958 I'm still working on the commands in English with him, once he's got them down then I'll start doing Spanish
Rescued a 6 month Doberman, hes laster owner was Spanish speaking, so i taught his commands in Navajo (Diné) . Old rescue center after year check up was amazed
I trained my dog first in Italian but I don't speak it good enough. Then I trained him in German with still some Italian words and also some words how just my family understands its a bit like a own language just for our dogs.
And at the moment I teach him "heel" it means heel on the left side normally he is doing Fuß on the Right side. I want that he can switch the sides.
So we live in Germany but our dog speaks polish. it's great because friends and family can stay with him if needed but strangers can't control him. It's the best of both worlds
Can confirm, my dogs knew Māori 😂 on the many occasions visitors would try to call them for pats and they’d refuse to greet them till they spoke the right lingo 😂😂😂
Your german commands are pronounced perfectly!
Unless he tries to pronounce Weimaraner;)
@@Mikkogram Ok that is true ^^;
no, they are NOT perfectly pronunced. but that’s okay.
@@BlondeQtie I am literally German.
@@sophieschonfeld2943 ja ich auch und jetzt? 😂😂😂 ich fand‘s nicht gut, jeder zugezogene wanna be hipster in kreuzberg klingt so.
I love this! My dogs are all taught in German. But they are also Tri-lingual. Dog, German and English.
We rescued a GSD, from a 98% speaking Spanish family. Had the hardest time understanding why she wasn’t reacting. Then we realized that we had to start all over. Luckily she was young and transitioned easily and now know sign language as well!
Your channel is one of the best ❤🐾🐾
lol the last bit! The dog knows what you're saying so it's all good!
"Nein, pfui, platz" gotta love this man😂
Good day sir!
Briefly, you are truly gifted. In my opinion a sign of high intelligence…continue to be thankful.
Your show is very helpful on many fronts.
Continued success to you.
Richard
Lol I'm from the UK but I speak to my Dobermann in Polish so only I can command him, and he responds very well to me.
But like also the fact that you could make up your own words and/or sounds for a command too that's so cool and encryption like
An actress trained her dog in cartoon voice and later realized that she would have to use that voice for commands for as long her dog lives
"Fass" ist wichtig:)
That ending lmao.
LOL that was personal
Bro posting it on the internet was funny as hell 😂😂😂
The farmers I work for are originally from Holland, all of their dogs are trained in English and Dutch.
For those of you who don't speak German,
'Fuß' means 'foot'.
When we got our cane corso I was thinking about training him in Italian but it was that exact reason, if we needed someone like my parents to watch him they wouldn’t know the commands.
Maybe you could teach in both languages. My dog knows all his commands in english but I thought him to sit and down in my native languange, Indonesian so far.
@@pawsandclaws12 that would have been nice but sadly, this dog has passed away. Don’t think I’ll get another cane Corso again. I’m too heartbroken
@@hermitwatcher8997 Oh Im so sorry for your loss
“Heel yourself” 😂 “fuss”
"NINE FUY PLUS" lmao
My border collie just pick on the words we say without us teaching her
she is a multilingual puppy 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My commands are German. Such as, "Sitz", "Runter", "Komm" und "Esssseeeeen"😂
Love the channel! By far the best one out there. But we all have to show some respect to the editor. He/she the real mvp. These are great 😅!
As a German I love it :)
Good joke at the end 😂🤣🤣😂.. Didn't c that coming 🤣😂🤣
As a German I taught them always in German as it sounds clear and fast to me. For bite work we used "Krieg den Kerl (catch the guy)" instead of "Fass" to make sure no idiot can interfere and that it's something that can't be said by mistake.
Now I'm abroad I would keep it German.
Our dog Juno is trained French ❤
Thats nice ! I am starting to teach my dog commands in french (he knows them in other different languages) and my friends are helping me out (since i dont speak/ know french that good)
@@erissimbi7407 Nice! Hope it works out well!
Love your stuff. Amazing job
I would say another benefit would be not accidentally commanding your dog during conversation, depending on the command word.
its good since we are all french
I‘m from Switzerland and we use „Silah“ (leave it), „Pfötli“ (Paw), „Zu mir!“ (come), and „Bliebe“ (stay). There’s a Swiss term „Pacific“ and it means „easy/chill“. Love it.
I also love the african food term „Chakalaka“ but need to find the right command for it 😅
As a German I can approve the proununciation of „Nein!, Pfui!,Platz!“
Very good 😂
My English friend had to learn how to speak German because he bought a German Shepherd and he wanted the dog to be able to understand him
Lmao
you are Brilliant and dedicated to your expertise!💯💯💯💯💥! Thank you!
My Border Collie was tri-lingual. She knew commands in English, Spanish, and German. My Lab knows German only. As my service dog, we occasionally come across someone that will try to give him a command, always in English, and he totally ignores them. The stranger makes a comment about him not being trained and I reply, "Oh, he's trained, you just don't know his commands."
I teach in Korean. Gaja is such a fun thing to say instead of let’s go for a walk 😂. I don’t even speak the language with my family but the dog understands both English and Korean.
I adopted a retired belgian malinois and the former owner/handler of the dog had taught the "trigger commands" in klingon.. that alone tickled me pink.
My first dog could take commands in 5 different languages, my second dog in 3 different languages. Both took commands in English first.
I can confirm I live in Switzerland and speak German and have a Swiss friend with a dog it’s pretty cool
Man u really rising my dog w me thank u for your content😂❤
Ahhhhahahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I freaking love that movie with Chris Rock in Jackie Chan 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Love the idea of using "bon appetit"
for "eat".
I adopted a senior rottie from a very sweet older lady. Got him home and that took him out to pee. I tried everything, go potty, go pee, go tinkle. . . Trying to think of what his previous mom would have said. I was getting really frustrated as he just sat there looking at me. I finally just begged him to "get 'er done". BINGO!
He lived with me almost 3 years. He was a true gentleman
My crew are trained in the Kanien'keha:ka (Mohawk) language and hand signals. Real fun watching people trying to command them speaking English or French.
I do not have a personal dog to train in this sense but I intend to use modified pronunciations of certain words and utilize them as cue commands
I trained my dog in Italian. Never regretted it! ;)
As a German - i love this Video!
I also think dogs can understand the different vowels better in German. Platz. Fuß. Sitz. They’re quick and easy to understand. And for us, needing to speak another language makes us think a little more too, as I am german and American, living in Germany and I can confirm it from my own experiences.
Instructions unclear, my dog has been trained in anime quotes
I'm Czech so my samoyed is trained in Czech language, but when I give him command in English, he understands. 😄
Your german is pretty good 😂👌
My older stepbrother got a german shepherd a long time ago (she passed about 25 to 27 years ago, in fact) and had her taken to obedience school. She was trained with commands which I believe were German. I do not know the spelling but the word for 'no' was "akee' or something like that. I do not remember the rest offhand but yeah.. he explained that it was so that nobody else could command the dog. Made sense to me.
Lol Dutch :) I’m Dutch … we have some sort of saying: “hup fikkie, zit!” Try that 😅😅
Love these videos…please keep it up. Especially how to control (everyone needs to control their dogs) big, potentially dangerous dogs.
Doesn’t matter what size they are. EVERY DOG should have a solid foundation in Obedience. My sister never trains her dogs.. she always has little fur balls.. Maltese, Yorkies, Yorkipoos or Maltepoos.. she has had about three run away and get ran over.. they can’t properly walk on a leash, constantly pulling, can’t be groomed because they bite, just horrible little monsters.. I have always had Shepherd’s, until my son left me with his Chihuahua. She was every bit as well trained as my big dogs after a few weeks. I would never have a dog with no training
Seems like those last problems could be fixed by using alternate common words, like duck, bat, or trill.
I use hand signals along with language. That way they know what I’m asking so I don’t think them being watched would be a problem
That ending, though kkkkkk
Confirm, plus, since i had a High level Energy dog the sessions in english made him tired
I teach my dog sign language so I can tell them anything in any language and just put up the sign said no and he will listen
Watch you from England. Love your videos
Went to Germany for a few weeks before I got my schnauzer! I’ve taught him a few German commands!
As a German, he said it great
Hahaha. "Foei" and "plat".
All of a sudden you throw some Dutch around. Well done!
Most of my friends and family don't realize my dogs don't know English because they try to guess what you want if they know you're an invited guest/friend. They've also figured out that almost everyone just wants them to sit for a cookie.
If they don't know/trust you they're not going to listen to you anyway, lol. You'll get nothing but attitude and maybe worse. 😁
Our Korean neighbors gifted us their German Shepherd when they were forced to give her away so she is bilingual as is their Jindo and Border Collie since we are dog sitting. They recognize Korean and English commands.
Mines a grownup and controls the room
Hahahahhha the end :D
My dog is thought commands in English but I've also trained him to obey some commands in Finnish in case my mum comes to visit and needs to control my dog while I'm not in the house 😃 I also paired the commands with hand gestures but there's still room for improvement on those.
My Achilles is trained in German, French and Spanish. I live in in the us and everytime I bring him to the kennel I have to write down his commands.
I taught my dogs to sit with a gesture
Man your a straight doggy whisperer.
Thanks for the knowledge bro.
God bless 👍 🇺🇸
I taught my American bulldog commands in german and Spanish lol
Especially useful when you go on vacation :)
My dog's trained in German. The neighbor's dog is trained in French. Just the other day, the neighbor's dog surrendered to my dog. ;-)
Your german is on point man 😅 I'm looking for my first little puppy and your videos help a lot with deciding what and how I want to train that little fluffy 👍 best regards from over the sea
This is why I need to learn more languages 🙈
My dogs know mostly English but also Spanish and Japanese 😊
I speak German and I train my dogs with it . ❤
I always told people I used German for my German Shepherds because they could intuitively and more easily understand the commands 😂. And yes, I would occasionally get a confused look before the light came on.
😂😂😂😂😂only last 10 seconds 👌✌️👌👍👏👏🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I use English, Spanish and nahuatl (Aztec) on my rottweiler pitbull mix. His about to be a year old and his obedience and recall is great.
the movie kick ass made me want to put a few german commands in there 💀
We use "coucher" for the down command since we ask him to get down off furniture or out of the car. It's been extremely useful and less confusing for him.
Got it. Train it in my language
