I love this! My wife brought home a big driftwood crotch from a beach clean up event last weekend. Its too big for my lathe and I couldn't figure out what to do with it...now I know! Can't wait to try this.
Be careful, drift wood can be really toxic. If it's from a lake I wouldn't worry but if it's from the ocean wear a mask. The dust from dry driftwood can damage your lungs.

Very nice, but maybe it needs a bit more sanding. There are unsanded areas on the inside and on the foot. Perhaps this was the raw look you were going for.
