    Thanks for sharing this video and the advices to be safe. My husband and I are about to buy a set of two kayak and will be traveling 8 hrs away to use them. We just want to make sure we and as well as others are safe while driving in the highway for that amount of time. Any additional advice for beginners will be greatly appreciated! :)

      Thanks for the view! Just follow the instructions, use all the recommended straps, and use caution while driving and you should be fine!

    Thank you!!! I've watched a few videos on how to strap the Jaylow and this is the 1st one that's clicked for me! Well explained!

    Why are you filming the installation a mile away? I wish this video was a close up of the actual installation

      Sorry about that! This was a one person film day, and it's difficult to show loading a boat while filming. Hopefully the video is still somewhat useful to you! Feel free to reach out with any questions! hello@therackshop.com

    hey there usefull vid question do you think with a 50 inch crossbar on 2023 mazda cx30 there would be enough distance between to mount 2 sets of jaylow one on passenger the other on the driver?

      @TheRackShop  6 місяців тому

      Thanks! While there are variables with boat sizes that would affect placement, generally speaking, 50" bars can handle 2 JayLows.

      @@jeffdurling2167 Thanks, Jeff. I've never personally seen two J-style carriers not work, but I can't say with 100% certainty without having the vehicle to try it all out. I will say, if you go with a J-style carrier that uses the T-track of the crossbars, you won't have an issue as you can place the mounts anywhere you need on top of the bars. Thule has a model that will works for you. therackshop.com/thule-hull-a-port-aero-folding-j-style-kayak-mount/

    My JayLow Rack falls flat the opposite way during travel. The Bunker arm will go past the 45 deg angle backward instead of keeping the Kayak upright. Then the strapping loosens and the Kayak flies away. I am attempting to find out if there is something "broken" about my JayLow. Is it supposed to remain in the 45-degree position once clamped? What is my recourse and how might I diagnose?

      Hi Adam! Are you able to send photos to us with how you're mounting it? There isn't a 45 degree angle, so we just want to make sure we're on the same page to help figure out what's going on. If there is a manufacturer issue, Yakima has a limited lifetime warranty on this item. Send us your details to hello@therackshop.com

      Holy crap. I just got an extremely delayed response from Yakima for the same issue. Sent pictures and no response yet. Did you find a solution?

      Probably too late to help you guys but I had the same issue but if you spin the red handle, it will tighten the jaylow and prevent it from falling past 45 degrees. I had the same issue and Yakima sent me a new pair but I since discovered tightening with the red handle solves the problem. Used them for a 4 hour drive after doing that and had no issue

    I have to say I'm underwhelmed with the how-to on getting the boat on the roof. That is a tiny boat, and the instructions are basically muscle it up.

      Thanks for the view! I haven't had too much luck asking it nicely to jump up there but you could definitely try 🙃! If you have a friend there to assist, that'll help. There are also other kayak mounts/accessories that will better assist with loading/unloading. Feel free to contact us and we can go over your needs and find the right system for you.
