    *Construction seemed sturdier than other units I considered **MyBest.Tools** Noise level was reasonable. Good pressure and cfm capacity for a small reasonably light compressor.*

    You did a nice job plumbing in the system. With multiple water traps and a dessicant filter/dryer I would expect you have pure clean and dry air coming out. Only thing I would do is put a street elbow coming out of the tank, then the ball valve, then the hose. Just so things aren't sticking straight out, but are facing down. But thats minor. Good video.

      It's a half-inch ball valve. I have a 3/4" reducer coming out of the tank, then the half-inch ball valve.

    Nice system. Just have some questions about the copper system. Is there any reason you used 7 feet? You think it will work with a shorter length in case you don’t have the space? Also you set it up with 4 traps would 2 work? Great video to learn about this type of system. You got yourself a subscriber. Keep up the good work.

    • @StillStandingGarage
      @StillStandingGarage  3 роки тому +4

      Thank you! Welcome to the channel. You can use any length for the space you have as long as the overall length of your water trap system is 50ft minimum. You might have to use more traps since you're planning on using shorter pipes.

    You should just do some type of pan under the tank so your concret isn’t permanently stained

    • @StillStandingGarage
      @StillStandingGarage  2 роки тому +4

      I should that's a great idea. I've also seen people add a hose to come out and they're able to extract the water to wherever they want.

      @@StillStandingGarage I installed a 90 degree fitting out of the tank, then a 6" length of pipe with a tiny ball valve on the end, then another 90 pointing down. Add a shallow drip tray (cut the bottom off a detergent jug) and you're set. I did similar (only shorter) to the compressor drain. No more trying to catch the oil from running down the tank.

      It's a water trap

    • @steadyeddie7453
      @steadyeddie7453 2 роки тому

      He did a great job plumbing it. The idea is that as the hot air passes through the copper it condenses as it cools and the water flows to the bottom of each leg. At the bottom the pipe is extended down past the 90 degree turn. Thats a trap, where the water collects. He has valves at the bottom of each leg to drain the water. It's was a common practice years ago (also in the natural gas industry) but now we have in-line water traps and dryers. He has both (thumbs up).

    Hey man, your videos helped me get my set up going perfect. I am experiencing the same issue you had with the air regulator humming. I had a 200 psi husky regulator, now a harbour freight Merlin regulator. Both started humming after a couple days of constant use. Should I buy a high-end regulator, try to fix the current one(s), or try to move the current one further away from the ball valve coming out of the compressor (like moving it past the desiccant system at the end near the air hose)? Thanks a TON

    • @StillStandingGarage
      @StillStandingGarage  2 роки тому +1

      Hey, thank you for watching. I would say to add it after your desiccant container like you mentioned. I completely removed mine and use the regulator that's on the 5 stage dryer system. I haven't had any issues since.

    • @steadyeddie7453
      @steadyeddie7453 2 роки тому +1

      Always put the regulator at the end. Filters and traps will reduce the pressure just because of how they are designed. So if you put the regulator first and set it to 90, by the time the air pressure go through the next filters and traps, you pressure will have dropped, sometimes considerably. Same for the size and length of hose. You will drop pressure there also. Some painters will attach a small gauge with regulator on the end of their gun so they know exactly what pressure they are feeding it. Cheers.

    I would be spraying collision work no full paint jobs

    • @StillStandingGarage
      @StillStandingGarage  2 місяці тому +2

      Yes, this air compressor size will be more than enough. If you want to go deeper than that, check the cfm requirements for the gun you'll be using and compare it to the air compressor you'll be buying/using. This 60-gallon Husky operates at 13.4 cfm when delivering 40psi. Spray guns usually require 13cfm and need a max of 35psi depending on your spraying technique, and, of course, whatever it is, you're spraying.

    Hey bro, i have somewhat of a similar setup. I wanted to ask you how often does the compressor need to run when you are using it. I use my cut off wheel and a 2 in die grinder regularly. The compressor will need to fill up every 30 sec of use. Just wanted to know it was normal. I used 1/2 in copper tubing, manifold like yours, and i am also using a 50ft 1/2 in hose reel. Thanks

    • @StillStandingGarage
      @StillStandingGarage  3 роки тому +5

      Mine does the same thing. It needs to load after about 1 to 2 minutes of using a DA. I would say it's normal due to the consumption of air by the tool you use. After about 3 hours of the motor running I let it rest. The manual says 4 hrs but I play it on the safe side.

      No problem 👊... I think we're good

    • @steadyeddie7453
      @steadyeddie7453 2 роки тому

      That is not normal. I think this compressor is rated at 50% duty cycle. So you can run it for 5 minutes followed by a 5 minute cool down. I push my comp harder than that when blasting, but it has held up. If it crashes, it's my fault. And cut off wheels and die grinders are among the highest CFM users in the air tool world. They really tax a compressor. If you can put a small fan next to the compressor to assist cooling it will help immensely.

      I'm not an electrician by any means, but I would say you should use 10/3 wire all the way to your box. That 3rd wire is for ground and I would say you need it. That's how mine is set up. I would seek advice from an Electrician to make sure tho.
