I used to watch this when I was growing up on TV. I think it was TNN - The Nashville Network that televised the event, along with monster trucks, truck pulls, Sprint cars, ASA (American Speed Association - stock cars)....basically anything with four wheels, a motor, and some form of racing or competition.
I can imagine two guys drinking beer and one says hey let's see how far we can go through swamp and the other one says hey let's see how fast we can go through the swamp. And this was born.
this might be fun & all, but I dont get it.. the vehicles are "sophisticated" purpose-build for this & still its a suuuper inefficient overall design, right?! how is that a "race"? its just seems "off" overall 🤔 Compared to the pure fun they have in Thailand with their Rice Field Tractor races they have over there, this this just seems too "overengineered" for what it is.🤷♂
They seem pretty efficient to me. They seem to go alright when they get going. Maybe it's a good way to get into racing without going at breakneck dangerous speeds

It dries up about 2 weeks after and they have to pump it back full before we race
