Just thought I'd have a bit of fun with my 2017 Audi S3 in the snow and do some slides and the odd launch control haha, hope you guys enjoyed it! Stay tuned for more.

Love the video but i still dont get why people dont put winter tires on their car? I went through whole snow yesterday in my fwd a3. Its all about tires when it comes to snow and ice. Its a must here in slovenia, everybody does it
Usually it is illegal to drive in winter without either All/4-season or regular winter tires. If you cause an accident not even your insurance will take the costs, neither your nor the other damage. Also if you get pulled over and the cops randomly find out you have the wrong tires you are fucked too

to all audi fans now u finally see an audi get stuck at a small uphill. Now why is that? Yes summer tires so u clearly see the difference between summer and winter tires. Don't say bmw's cant go in snow cuz mine rwd e46 with summer tires got up at a steeper hill than that audi stop making these comments about bmw's that cant go in snow yes they can with the right equipment and a good driver even if it's rwd it still goes. And seriously don't think if u have audi u can drive faster on the road because quattro of because we are all on the same ship as you are if it sinks we are all sinking. Favourite car tuber and probs over all UA-camr... the sophistication this guy has whilst filming but then still out potentially ruining his car (probably for own satisfaction) it’s what’s amazing. The youtubers who I grew up to linking such as Archie Hamilton, yianninize, and seen through glass have lately become really boring and they would now be the last videos I watch because they’re all tryna force out content. But you will always have some exiting cars and sticking to one car and making content on that then rather selling it in 2 week and making no content are better for the viewers who just want consumer advice such as myself which is why I’ve joined your UA-cam 👍🏽

That launch was actually pretty decent for those weather conditions. Still gained an alright amount of traction too for the most part.

Most people like to have a mess around in their cars when it snows in the uk, let’s face it we only get some once every 2-3 years we were lucky. I’ve got a E46 BMW so that’s always fun in the snow, but obviously you have to be extremely careful in that, one false move and you’ll end up in a ditch lol. The wife always tells me off if I get the back end out and I just say “my gosh slippy road” and just pretend that it wasn’t intentional lol😂😂😂😂😂.
I’m from Redditch by the way, so we had the same amount of snow too, all gone now though with that rain we had. Half of me is glad though as I can’t get to work if it’s too bad.

found quite informative....after being a subaru driver I am lucky enough to have a rs3 saloon riding on p zero nero tires. Quattro makes no difference with the wrong tire lol. The Subaru with its mechanical awd felt more sure footed. DSG and electronic ESP etc taking some getting used to. Great vlogs matey.
I have an X5 in Switzerland. We use winter tyres, I highly recommend them. They make huge difference not just in snow but icy conditions as well
S3s are the best.
I have an older V8 Audi S5, Last year i was going to get winter tires but it kinda caught up with me and i i dn't get around to it in the end. Still never got stuck, Audi doesn't know the meaning of stuck. And the comparisons people make with other cars... the road is not a race track ffs and you shouldn't be pushing your car on a public road for those differences to show. For getting around in ALL conditions why would anyone not buy a 4wd Audi, Decades of rally winning heritage, they know what they're doing.
Still having the S5 i am disappointed with this years snow in North Kent, one day we had a bit that lasted til lunchtime and had melted, gutted lol.
Good call on the driver select, having it in what would be "comfort" mode in mine, i wouldn't put mine in "Dynamic" either lol

You wanna try and drive in the snow with a rear wheel drive car, you’d have either gone no where or ended up going through your fence and upsetting the neighbours Can’t beat winter tyres or as you found out four wheel drive/Quattro. Good video though .

Actually it did a lot better than I thought with those tires. Sure it was a bit dumb and risky but luckily it seems u were in a quiet area where you could actually have that experience. But true good winter tires work a lot better in 2wd than awd without them. Quattro is something else though. Nice video.

Interesting video mate, many people automatically think their motors will laugh at snow and ice just because they have AWD but this demonstrates that it’s not the case. Must admit I think it did far better than my m240i would have done lol !! TYRES are the most important thing, I fitted Continental Winter contacts on my old 325ti and it went from not even being able to move on the flat in snow to literally going anywhere. UzzyFuzzyy BMW IS THE BEST Not really, my car also has summer tyres but it is Fwd so has the weight over the front and a really good torque vectoring diff. It managed to get thru 6-7 inches of pure snow/ice insanely well. It bottomed out heaps and the front end got packed with snow as it was pushing a load in front but I genuinely wasn't expecting the difference to be as insane as it was. Only got stuck once and that was me being a knob and drifting it into a spot where it beached itself aha

Hahaaaa class bro. I've had some fun aswell messing around in the S3 past couple days. Impressed with the Michelin PS4 tbh despite them being a summer tyre. Had to get dug out though yesterday when I got too brave trying to go up a steep hill haha. To be fair though I think I'd need snow chains to have made it up there !

not quite sure thats a Quattro id say its a haldex its not working the same way as Quattro if you have 2017 s3 its probably haldex...
Its not a good idea without winter/M+S tyres...ur just not a smart individual at all...an Michelin tyres are shit!
S3's have haldex quattro system where A4's have the Torsen quattro- which would have been better in these conditions, nice vid though 👍

Three year old, original owner of a 2015 S3 (summer/winter tires Michelin PS4S/Pilot Alpin PA4s - 225-40-18), here in Toronto and country road environs, I’ve never got stuck in three winters of driving. Of course, the Michelin PA4s are key to allow Quattro to shine in winter, including getting up a steep, winding snow covered uphill driveway. That driveway gets me up to a family country home on a hill in rural Ontario, 130 km north east of Toronto - no need to wait for a particularly cold winter, there’s snow and cold a plenty, usually, from December to March. On snowy days when the clan gathers, there are some cars/SUVs at the bottom of the hill and some cars at the top of the hill. Happy to say, the S3 has always been in the second group.
But you absolutely need good winter rubber. I switchover my summers around November 1 - winters are on separate rims and stored; and back to summers end of April.
One caveat with winter driving with such a sports sedan, is the low ground clearance. I would not attempt, say, more than 6” of unplowed snow - that’s what true 4x4s are designed for. If you really need winter “gonzo” tires, I’d consider the Michelin X-ice or Bridgestone are said to make great winter tires. But my winter driving is mostly on cold/wet/salted ploughed roads so I opted to give up some snow capability for improved handling in the cold and wet. I’m happy with the compromise - I still can get up the hill, yeah S3.

Awd isn’t proper 4x4 like you find on a Land Rover or Subra forester. There also isn’t enough ground clearance and winter tyres are key but what’s the point it hardly ever snows here....in all honest, I doubt awd any better than fwd on these high performance hot hatches, however I do know rwd terrible in snow!! Garage or kept on the drive the best place when it’s that bad weather 😀 It is laughable how many people drive awd cars and assume they’ll be invincible in the snow 😂
Mate get some winter tyres. I had them on my v6 A3 and A45 and are on back order for my new E63s. Get them on a set of rims which are a inch smaller then your stock setup if you can. Then when it does snow you will be the king of the road. The look on people's faces when you overtake a massive line of stuck cars is totally priceless! Untreated side road on a hill? No problem! The best thing about winter tyres on snow is that abs doesn't get triggered. The braking grip in snow is mind blowing compared to summer tyres!

The last time we had that much snow was in 2012 and i actually was in bham and had to make it back to sheffield in my mkiv supra with 500 horses what a laugh and honstly what a great handling car it is side ways everywere however very controllable so come hamza your in a quatro you can do better and by the way i was also in summer tyres! 😉😁
I have an OG s3 2002, same Haldexsystem just the original version. The weather he is driving is no problem for my car, winter tires make such a huge difference
What makes me laugh is when people assume that because their Audi is AWD that it's gonna be good on snow and ice. In reality it's all about the tyres and most 2WD cars on winter tyres would outperform an AWD on summers.
Try a Cupra with 'standard' Bridgestones in Scotland! It seems to better than the Audi! Turn the TC off! I know it sounds counter intuitive but it stops the power cutting out when you need it.

It’s funny, I live where it rarely snows and I added sport cup a/s 4’s to my car. You get snow probably every year and you have the performance tires on.
