- According to March of Dimes The Baby Blues are "feelings of sadness a woman may have in the first few days after having a baby." Also called the Postpartum blues, the baby blues are sometimes referred to as less severe postpartum depression, that usually resolves in one to two weeks. During my first two weeks postpartum I felt lonely, isolated, sad, unliked, and unsuccessful during this time, and the only thing that helped me was the fact that other people had shared their stories with me.

Annie this video is so wonderfully real, and every single new Mom feels those feelings to some degree. Your honesty will help every new Mom who watches, and going through it yourself has given you empathy when speaking to and encouraging those you meet and that is a gift born out of adversity 💛
Thank you! I really do feel lucky to better understand how new moms feel and I think it really is so important to share that process of someone feels like they can.
Love you so much. Thank you for sharing. I’m so glad things got easier and you began to see clearly what we all saw even then: you are an amazing mom! And of course Bowie loves you! Mall lady can go stick a fork in her eye.
I love YOU so much! Thank you for watching (and for not finding me that fork in my low moment Bahahaha!)
my mom was told to just give up when she struggled to breastfeed me by my grandma and the nurses and to just give me a bottle... my brother on the other hand, got breastfed because she found a legit breastfeeding support group in sf that helped her through it. apparently its like one of the top struggles for new moms and everyone thinks its supposed to be "natural and easy" but this is will be so helpful to others who find themselves with this same challenge!
Oooooh yeah- the struggle really is REAL. That said, my hospital and doctors office were very pro breastfeeding and had a ton of resources and... it just wasn’t the right thing for us- so there was a swing of pressure from the other direction if that makes sense.
@@AlliesBest ahhh yes yes! sorry, I totally commented halfway through the video hahaha its so good that you were supported through that whole process by the hospital and family to find the right solution and they didnt force you one way or the other... you listened to your body and bowie's body!!
Breast feeding isn’t easy! My friend got scolded while she was in the hospital by the lactation consultant. Made her feel so bad she didn’t even bother to try and has only bottle fed the baby. But honestly as long as she’s full and gaining weight it doesn’t matter what other people say. My other friend is doing a hybrid so she pumps whatever she makes and they add formula to it.
Yes- so many women have been pushed really hard in one direction or the other and I think it always ends up hurting them :( I’m glad things are going well for her!
