How could you ask them to remove it? It's preventing the REAL border patrol from doing it's job. Therefore, it is obstructing the federal government.

What a silly comment. It is Congress's responsibility to make and change immigration laws and to properly fund Border Patrol. Biden is working with Congress to make that happen. Unfortunately, Trump is telling congressional Republicans not to cooperate so he can use the border to attack Biden in the presidential race.

Instead of presiding over this clown show, why isn't Abbott trying to influence members of the U.S. House from Texas to pass legislation to solve the problem? After all, it's Congress's responsibility to make or change laws. POTUS can only make decisions about what to focus on in the context of existing laws.

@@Rob123212321 Little boy, federal sovereignty takes precedence over state sovereignty. That's how a system of federalism works. As interpreted by SCOTUS, the Constitution gives Congress the authority to control borders and immigration, not states.

@@arjaygee Per Article II of the Constitution it is the presidents duty to enforce law. Biden is refusing to enforce laws already on the books. Anyone who breaks those laws or enables another person to do so should be deported or imprisoned respectively. Why is this concept so damn difficult to understand? Article I, 10, 3 reserves the states right to defend themselves when the federal government fails to do so.

If Abbott was not going to obey the Supreme court, he shouldn't even be asking them to weigh in on the issue.
But now we know who isn’t for defending the people of this country.
SCOTUS will weigh in again on the issue. Abbott will wait until SCOTUS decides whether or not this issue is truly an invasion. Then Texas really moves on from SCOTUS's next ruling on the border. Right now it still is "illegal immigration"; however, many many people feel like it is an invasion.
