Today I'll be sharing with you my new favorite products I've been using for my wash and gos from the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil line. I'm no stranger to Shea Moisture but I realized that I rarely show them any love on my UA-cam even though I use a product from their line almost every wash day. The Jamaican Black Castor Oil line claims to help strength, grow and restore your damaged tresses and contains tons of amazing all-natural ingredients.

Talk about hair envy! Your hair is beautiful. The volume and definition are amazing. I'm fully natural with about 2 inches of heat damage that needs to be cut. My hair is constantly dry and I don't know what to do as it seems like I've tried EVERYTHING. I'm still trying to get to know my hair. +shawnette marie Well thank you doll. Haha. I try to keep it from looking like all of those adjectives you just used. It takes work but I knew it when I decided to get it colored.
I love these 2 products! I used them on my flat twist out 2 weeks ago, and it turned out amazing! I want to try them for my wash & go this summer. Your hair turned out great.

Great results! I actually bought those products on my last trip to the US in April. I've only been using the mask and leave-in so far and not the two together the way you have cos I thought they'd be to 'heavy' on my hair PLUS I wasn't a fan of the smell originally (it's grown on me now :) ).
Dee Lite Thanks! Try the combo out. My hair is medium thickness so it does perfect taming the frizz but still keeping my hair light and fluffy with definition. Hope it works well for you too.
I have these products on hand (of course, lol) and never thought to use them together! Totally trying it - similar curls, same length, same shrinkage :( but I love the volume. Love your channel Brandi!

Love how your hair came out. Gotta love natural hair and the states it can be in. I wish I could use Shea Moisture products... Love the brand and history, but they just don't work for me. I think it's because of the coconut oil... Wish they had some products without coconut oil in them. Anyway, I'm rambling... love this look!

Love the video and your hair came out beautifully. I want to do my first wash n go but i'm afraid my hair won't fluff, but i guess i'll have to try it and see. My hair is somewhat similar to yours. Just bought the lotion today, so now i have to get the leave-in. But your hair is beautiful and so so fluffy that's what i like ...the fluffy!! Smile
+LovinmeNatural Chelle Thanks. You could even use the hair lotion on its own. I have tried it both ways and get great results. And you can always get more fluff and volume using a afro pick or using a dryer with diffuser to dry your hair.

SUPER CUTE! I love it!!!! I have this LI but haven't gotten around to trying and have heard lots of good things about the Styling Lotion. After seeing your video, I gotta try it. How many days to you get out of this wash-n-go? How well does it hold up as far as maintaining the definition as the days go by?
The1NYCgirl Thanks. Usually three days if there is a lot of humidity. Longer in decent weather. The definition lasts but frizz does slowly creep in each day.
I had a bad experience with this product but I added jbco into the leave in mix and it works a lot better for me now 🤗

Question, today I went to the store and bought shea moisture black castor oil shampoo and conditioner. I did not buy the lotion for my hair. Can I still style my hair without the lotion. Will this affect my hair? @BrandiLofton

When im raking in products I lose a lot of hair . It comes out on my ends. do you know if that means that I need a trim? I deep condition weekly and use natural hair products. thanks
Nairobi the One and Only If you are losing a lot of hair when styling it could be due to you not thoroughly detangling when you wash your hair. I lose the most hair when I detangle with my conditioner. Once i get to styling much doesn't come out at that point. Usually knotting means that you need a trim not so much hair shedding.

Does anyone know of a product that is just like this leave in (consistency wise) without the protein? I love this leave in, but it gave me slight protein overload with continued use. Any ideas?

Did you loose your curl on the highlighted strands? If so, how did you get the curls back?
+Stephanie Martin The bleach did loosen my curl a little but not in a huge, noticeable way. To revive the curls a little more, I implemented protein treatments in my regimen and did them every 6 weeks.

+Kierra Smith Hi and welcome! I just try to stick to a regimen of properly cleansing my hair, deep conditioning weekly, using moisturizing products, limiting the use of heat on my hair, and protective styling when my hair needs a break and some TLC.

I love the leave in but I guess I must've picked up a bad batch because it leave my hair with a sort or greasy feel. 😞 does anyone know know why this could be?
+Kayla Ollivierre You may be using too much product. I get a bit of an oily feel once my hair dries but that is normal with products that are rich in shea butter but my hair is never weighed down or greasy feeling. It also may be happening if your hair is more on the finer side and a lighter styler from shea moisture might work better.
+Brandi Lofton thank you for the idea. I'll trying using less product and see if it helps. My hair is never weighed down by it but I guess I'm just not used to the feeling of Shea in my hair. I guess it just takes some getting used too.
+Kayla Ollivierre also I would suggest applying it on wetter hair. I love the product and it leaves it a tiny bit 'oily' but that's something I need in my hair or my wash and go will be dry by day three, the more you wear out the wash and go, the less and less oily it becomes.
I'll give that a go also, My hair was not that wet when i applied it the couple of times i did. Thank you for the suggestion :)
Is this good for trying to transition to natural instead of permed
+Maria Victoria I'm not sure what you mean by if this product is better than permed. This product can be used on any hair texture but I've only used it on my natural hair for curly styles. If you are transitioning it's likely not going to make your hair curlier

+The Natural Secrets I would consider my hair to be medium thickness and I have several curl patterns so it's difficult to pinpoint it.
