The original video was eaten by the FloMonster. This one should be ok though. Hopefully...
Damn
You seggsy
😁😁😁🤭😁🤭😁🤭😁🤭👇👇☝️👇☝️
lol man I was just about to say you should just post it again lol
why are your videos missing? they are not offensive or anything and i look forward to them. thank you Eric
The bass feature is one of the most impressive things I've heard in my entire life
That group is the new infinity. I hope none of them are aging out soon
Definitely the best in my eyes. Bluecoats was fun and artistic, but nothing beats the groove into ramming lasers. I was pretty high up and it still sounded articulate. I lost myself for a second
It was very difficult to play well. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
@@claytonbinner especially in 5 weeks. Ya'll arebt human
@@josephrosenbaum3343 I know at least their bass 3 aged out
I was at Lucas Oil stadium for DCI, and saw you perform with The "Commandment's Own"! Your show was really good!
the biblical "Commandment's Own"
Is there a recording of when they performed? I watched it as well and I wanna see it again
@@captainkaedon9453 Im not sure
commandents
The guy who yelled “they’re always ready” was next to me. He was a cavies alum and he was really cool!
Did he just make that up on the spot? Cool!
@@briantuma1502 Nah it's a reoccuring thing during dci shows, I remember it happening with bluecoats 2015 as well
@@Cmmf_ I was being sarcastic. It’s kind of the most cringe worthy shoutout imo. I hear it multiple times at shows. It’s old and tired.
Ever since my drum corps career started back in 2018, I’ve always wondered what it would be like to have EMC make a video on us. This is so awesome, thank you for taking the time to react to what we put out there this season!
My son was a rookie this year with the Cavaliers. Unfortunately this was his age out year too. They worked so hard and it showed!💚
You should both be very proud. Great season for them
Awesome! I’m curious to know what it was like being the bus driver
If it was scored they dead ass might have won
Love that Sing, Sing, Sing drum break. Especially the basses.
Cavalier mom here! This was my son’s first year marching with them. He is on brass line. They all did amazing!
nice! it was my drum techs first year too, on the snare line
That walkup with crescendo at 8:10 was just amazing. I was sitting on the right side and felt like they were going to climb right into the stands. Powerful.
I have a friend that marched cavies this season and he said that all of the snares were rookies. It’s crazy how good they are!!
I don't know if you mean rookies as in first year at cavies because Logan marched Legends and was marching crown in 2020
@@dylancouch7286 yeah I meant first year with cavies, sorry for misusing the word “rookie”
@@dylancouch7286 yup Logan is my roommate, looks like no rookie to me
1992 Cavaliers - STILL NOT DONE being one of the best shows ever
Yep
@8:16 finally came to me. That's the Gustav Holst Mars beat from their 95 show. Lots of little call back easter eggs.
8:48 He in fact did not lie. Opening Quartet is pre-recorded and lipsynced, ballad vocals are live with a boost from the synth, the trombone soloist talking at the beginning of segment 4 is live (he had a differnet joke every show), the scat-off is live (we tried micing it but it was picking up the snare feature behind it)
BTW the timpani is hiding behind the side 2 drum major.
Random fact I don't think anyone picked up on: above the "Still Not Done" moment the Brass is doing the tiktok sheesh
New guy moment
Although sadly my first ever year watching DCI in Indianapolis wasn't a competitive year, the experience was so amazing, despite a season that was cut over a month and a half short, these corps still managed to produce a finals-week level performance. My older brother marched with Phantom Regiment this summer, and I was so stoked to learn they had won fan favorite. While I was a little biased, Cavaliers was a close second for my favorite show. such a fantastic hornline, and the battery was phenomenal. I was lucky enough to meet some people who marched Cavies this summer while at the airport heading home. I dream of making this good a corps, and I am hoping to be a performer instead of a spectator for the first time in the 2022 season.
I marched in the 90s but I am not a "all new DCI sucks" type. There are elements from old school corps in this year's shows that have been missing from a lot of shows from the past 10-15 years. I am not sure exactly what it is...maybe power? Fun? I don't think it is incompatible with the artistry and precision of "new" drum corps and I'd like to see more of it.
BTW the still not done year was 1992. I know because I marched Cadets that year and we came in second behind them. Maybe we would have beaten them if we had added some "still not done" to the end of our show. 😂
As someone that got into DCI in the early 2000s and marched from 05-09, you're not wrong. I think it's literally mostly musical choices. There are great modern shows but I agree there was something exciting this year that's been missing across the field for the last decade or so and it's just good music selections.
There are shows that have it from year to year but it used to be close to the entire field and now it's at most a few shows per year and it's no wonder those have been the winning shows. Exciting music = high GE = good scoring.
Yes sir, 1992, Championships in Madison, WI. This was the first championship for the Cavaliers. You Cadets put on a fantastic show too - it was nice to see you both beat the corps that played the Star Spangled Banner for 11 minutes 😂🤣😂🤣👍
I was there Saturday, and it was my first time seeing DCI in person ever, and it sounds soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better in person. As soon as I walked into those doors on the North side of the building I heard the wonderful show that Pacific Crest put together, and my mind went like !@#$%^&*()()(*%?:{)O. I had no words to express how amazing it sounded in person. I can't wait for next year to see what a normal year is like, and see all of the cool drum corps like: Carolina Crown, BD and SCV that unfortunately couldn't make in to Indy this year.
The videos for Carolina Crown, BD and SCV that the showed on the screens were really cool though. It makes me happy they could at least get together, and have fun doing some things locally.
I got to say the high quality production BD and SCV did was insane.
i have been a fan since earl 2017 and my first live show was in 2019 and i was also so surprised how different and better it sounded in person!
I can see my brother and me in this video. Finally! I'm Internet famous (not really)! We were in aisle seats 8 rows up on the 45 yard line. I was wearing a "Drum Set" t-shirt from your merch store (beige). Did you see it when you were sitting at the drum set during the Marine performance? I was going to yell "Have a good morning EMC!" but didn't want to get you in trouble. Everyone looked pretty serious.
By the way, the Cavs opener was a metal song called Themata from a band called Karnivool. You should learn it on drums!
I'm 99% sure the vocals ARE pre-recorded. I know in 18 we boosted the vocals with pre-recorded tracks through the speakers. Also, I asked Sam in the lot after this show.
Wait but can’t you see the vocalists on the field singing/talking? Do they just mime sing/sing unmic’d and just have a recording play?
@@camilleon352 The brass solos and spoken part are all live. In 18 we sang full voice but supplemented with an early season recording, otherwise there's no way we would be heard past the first few rows. I imagine they did the same for the beginning of the ballad this year.
As far as the quartet in the beginning, I guess they decided those mics were best to pick up brass playing but not in the ideal vocal recording set up (background noise, the boominess of Lucas Oil, the spread of the quartet). So they sang unmic'd each night but played a recording they could rely on from the speakers. It would be the same 4 voices, just a better recording.
@@camilleon352 Opening Quartet is pre-recorded and lipsynced, ballad vocals are live with a boost from the synth, the trombone soloist talking at the beginning of segment 4 is live, the scat-off is live (we tried micing it but it was picking up the snare feature behind it)
From my ear, the intro quartet sounds like someone went ham with pitch correction. That typically doesn’t work when sharing microphones, and especially not with any software you can run in real time.
Not a fan of pre recorded vox, or any vox in general.. keep it organic and live
10:13 OMG, look at the guard that's so EPIC. lol
Pretty close on the bass feature transcription. The Mega Lazer bar was triplet based (Um acktuahly 🤓) so it was less dense than transcribed. Good job actually executing it tho. The mini bass window you said yeah bass to in the beginning were 18-lets at 192. Thank you so much for enjoying the show man.
I wish I could go to DCI again. I live in south Florida and anywhere there's a show it's always a massive trip to get there.
Appreciate the love for the timpani
The music in this show is so good. I would listen to his just in the background while doing other things just because of how good the music is.
Cavies 1992-their first championship title and my first DCI show! I've been a Cavies fan ever since! (even though I spent time with Crown)
"Still Not Done" 1992 Camp Randall stadium....they won their first World Championship on a very cool August night. I was there.
I love this. What I even love more. That the voice of DCI is still around. The announcer. Been there since before I marched on 1991.
I have to say, to see a show that really gets back to the gritty musicality and blow away and generally very entertaining. Is awesome to see. For so long drum corps has been grown and evolved into more use of props. So to see a show that is back to the basics. Love it.
I’m going to mention you to my percussion group, I think they’ll enjoy your videos just as much as me!
Hey EMC I love the dci reaction videos!!! Definitely should do more in the future!!! Unless the dark lord of Flomarching stops you
Timpani was behind the Drum Major scaffold.
A lot of the opener is Themata by Karnivool. Super cool song that I never expected to hear arranged for a marching group.
I got to watch them prepare and play this at Adrian College in Michigan for my band camp community experience
I marched this year and it was amazing. I loved it and I strongly encourage everyone to make an effort to March
With cavies? Or
I was there watching the cavilers at Lucas oil that night!!! I performed with gold drum and bugle corps
Cheers! From a Gold 2015 alum. Congrats on your season :)
Still Not Done was '92 - I matched Soprano that year amongst others with the Cavies.
Well, you’re not the “OH MY GOD” kiwi girl. But the drum breaks transcription make up for it. Great video! Semper.
The kiwi girl is a dumb cunt that contributes nothing for twenty minutes, pretends to be attractive, then ends the video. Eric puts in actual effort and it shows.
I thought by now someone would invite her to a show, if she ever leaves the shire. Her and several other “reactors” should go. Drum Corps is always better live. Their amps go up to 11, or further.
This was my favorite of the finals
1992 Still not Done!
1990-1995 Cavaliers had an incredibly “Noble” sound and appearance. There was a certain sensation and emotion when these shows took the field. 1992 Battery was the thickest sounding line ever, fielding 8 Bass drums at one point in the show! Hats off to D.C.I. Hall of Famer James Campbell percussion arranger and instructor in 1992!!
Pretty sure that the center snare for that year is now my drum instructor. Ian shepherd.
Since '92 I've said the lyrics as: "PLEASE A-PPLAUD" ...and it was used in '93, early in the show. Just went through and see that many people have referenced it as 'Still Not Done' and the '93 reference. I have no idea where I got "PLEASE A-PPLAUD"
Still not done... 1992. Was the summer before my HS senior year and they were in residence at the BOA Summer Symposium. Got to learn a lot that week and I called it-- their first victory world championship. Saw them progress all summer and even though Cadets and Star were incredible and gave them a serious run for the money, Cavaliers took gold.
Opener definitely gives me Bloo '17 vibes!
I am simply awestruck by your consummate professionalism and creativity. BRAVO!!! and thanks for your service.
The Cavaliers one of my favorite bands. This is awesome, I miss the days of PBS.
At a band camp for my school we were able to see the cavaliers practice
Still not done? For me, this was the apex of a golden time period for the Cavis; Rutter Gloria, Louis Bourgeois, Advent... then finally... 1992; Revolution. A glorious period.
Yup! Right at the end of the Peterloo Overture reprise of the 1992 show! EPIC.
Yo I know a Marimba (Devon) and a synth (Carson) in this show! Proud of them man! :D
@EMCproductions The quintessential Cavaliers ending lick in the drumline was from 1992 Revolution and Triumph. I was in my college drumline at the time and of course everybody copped it after that, but in '92, everyone was saying, "Please stand up! Please stand up! Please....stand....up....please....stand up, PLEASE.....STAND.....UP!!"
I was there on Saturday, I yelled EMC when you were walking off the field
React to blue stars 2021 i marched snare there. Ill send you my drum cam
Yes pleeeeease their show was sooo good
You should react to Blue Stars 2021. I played bass 2 this summer
Blue stars 2021!!!!
I know someone that marched bass his name is Larsen and I also know a guy who marches contra and he's my lessons teacher his name's zach
@@MrLettuce-hm9nk zach peycha
Check out the song themata by karnivool, they've used the main riff of that song in this performance. Pretty kool to hear. Karnivool are a rock, band from my hometown in Australia.
I love how the guard just yeets their rifles at the end
The timpanist is in front of the front right drum major. I spent the whole video looking for him 😅
One of the guys who does brass for my band is the same guy who works with the cavaliers. His name is freddie and we all love him. He was inducted into the hall of fame this year.
I’m so happy I got to play here with the UC band everyone was incredible!!
Thanks! I love all your comments about our show, and yes all of the vocals were prerecorded and layered with the live barbershop quartet.
Le We
Le We
Tympani player was right in front of the drum major podium, making him hard to pick out from the angle the show was shot.
My fav. Pit of all time this year. Of all DCI ever.
This show changed my mind on the shift for more "tech" (synth) in shows. Like more "visual art" (props I guess) and such... They put it together very well. It features all very very well. And thats very very hard to do these days...
1992. I saw them at a local show with my then band director (76-79 snare line) and thanked him for the introductions, but everyone else is doing "just marching band shows" and I was going to Indiana in 93... *sigh ...then I saw the Cav's show, and agreed that I would audition if Star didn't work out. He and I both changed schools, Star didn't happen, and I was so disillusioned with college that I joined the Marine Corps (yutt).
Anyways... 1992, one of the best shows I've ever seen.
I saw their show last Tuesday when they came to my hometown. Was so cool
I was in row 8 in the section below the camera. This was an absolute blast!
The first piece is an arrangement from the prog metal band Karnivool's song Themata, which is an absolutely massive song!
I marched Cavaleirs and aged out in '92. For us (The guard), we didn't call it "Still not done", we called it "Jing-le BELLS". The Drumline probably might have called it "Still not done" though.
I just remember rehearsing in the basement at Triton College when it was rainy and stormy one day, and we were trying to learn some choreography in the same large room as the drumline. It was basically a huge cement room for wrestling or something. They were rehearsing the ending bit, and every time they got to the "Jingle bells" part, we would just stop what we were doing and wait till they were done because we couldn't hear a damn thing. It was deafening. We would just yell "Jing-le bells, Jing-le bells...JING-le BELLS, JING-le BELLS...JING..LE..BELLS!!!!
As a member of the guard this year, it was a seven at the end😂
I commented this in the old upload but I think you would enjoy reacting to Genesis 2021. We had a awesome drum break!!
Haha you nailed the side cuts man. Lol. This season was fun. I caught the cavies, scout's, Boston, and drinks (lol) the week before finals and it was amazing. Love following you'r channel. I marched xmen and cadets battery 99/2000 . Thanks for keeping it cool
Huge props to all the band players they killed it
My percussion director is Eric Ficarra I don’t know if you know him but you might he marched dci and marched at Delaware college
Just looked it up you know him you were staff for bushwhackers in 2016
timpanist was below the majors podium lmao what a interesting place
-92 and the rimshots in the end says: We will win, We will win, We will win, We will win.
If it doesn’t get taken down you should watch bluecoats show this year
Still Not Done was 1992. I know because I was the the stands that night. Unfortunately, I was sitting there because we missed Finals by 0.1 the day before. We. Were. Done.
It was 1992 in their "Revolution and Triumph" show, which was THE SINGLE GREATEST CAVALIERS SHOW...EVER!
It was at the end of the Peterloo Overture reprise and finished off the show.
It was not only a sort of "throw-back" show, it was a celebration of 40 years of sponsorship from the Village of Rosemont......"Live from the 'Rose."'
The timing on that intro is not normal... its exceptional. Like big time.
Bro this show made me love the cavilers so much
I’m not a marching band person nor ever did I experience such a show but this was EPIC.
That ballad is jaw dropping
Those drum 4s are SINGING
so sorry you had to re-upload it!
If there is a game this year, they will be the champions😎
that tenor solo works with the fairly odd parents theme and i love it
I said it once and I'll say it again, fantastic video, love it. If you could take a look at Cadets 2000, drum feature is fantastic.
Cadets 2000 was by far the best drum feature.
Still not done… 1992. Madison, WI. What a night…
The tempani was behind the drum major
1992. That was my 1st year seeing them live at Vanderbilt University. The same year they won their 1st title.
round of applause for self
ok i like this show, its going back to the basics, not to be a dci boomer (especially the g bugle guys, i have one and its just a harder trumpet) but i like that the show is not relying on props or spandex uniforms to get a point across, just drill and music (probably biased considering my favorite shows are star of indiana 1991 and cavaliers frameworks)
My thoughts exactly. No mics, no singing, no electronics, no drum sets
Amazing how you learned the snare sticking from all the way back there
one of my techs is on the cavaliers and hes really good and super cool guy
Lead Trumpet from The Academy here !
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES THE TUBA PISTOL WHIP!!!!
1:02 the whole “They’re always ready” thing was invented by Troopers fans. Idk why but it was. We also had four drum majors this season.
Shoutout to everyone who marched this season! It was a wild ride and I’m sure that it was enjoyable for everyone!
Our drum instructor at CNU marched Cavaliers on snare in 83 (i think, maybe earlier?), so literally half of the book style, impacts, visuals, and of course, STILL NOT DONE, of Cavie's drumming are sprinkled into our books. Of course what we play isn't as high-level, but it is still a lot of fun to play.
Next year their brass is going to be a force to be reckoned with
The timpani player is behind the major on the right hand side up front.
My percussion director met you👌
This is a song from the prog band Karnivool!
Emc - 1992 cavs ? We at reading bucs ripped off the 92 ending for our end 😆
Cavs '92 Still Not Done. DCI Champions
I would’ve loved to see Frameworks again 😩
They were staying at my high school for the week of DCI. Beech grove high school
