QUESTION ! When you say.... ""when you die you have to do it over all again."" What does this mean exactly? Does it mean that if you clear 2 rooms and die in the arena, you then have to do them all again? OR When you die, you just go back to the start of the room that you are currently doing? OR When you die, you go back to the VERY beginning and all stats and gear all get resetted? Im only asking because if you play on Hard you only reset at current room, when you play on heroic you have to restart the whole thing. So please explain further.... @@combatkiller7881 In Descent, you leave the simulation when you "die". So it's back to the beginning; choosing weapon, etc and starting over with loop 1.
Fun fact: If you get the "bullet hell" for your first exotic talent and are lucky enough to get a second exotic talent, if you choose "payment in kind" you can utilize its perk without taking bleed damage because you'll never reload.
the best fact: take Incessant Chatter, take LMG 100mag, take 5 stacks and wait for bullet hell. And use 5 stacks for ever ( and can choose another weapon, but LMG 100mag is good now )
Pro tip: your pistol will often be your strongest weapon until you get some talent synergy. This also helps conserve bullets until you get some stronger guns/talents
Yes, in the earlier loops, I always use my pistol to kill off the last couple enemies in each room. I almost never need to buy an ammo refill when playing this way.
This video is a GREAT guide! If I may, I would like to add some extra tips I've found useful. (My highest loop: 44) ~PRE-Nemesis~ 1) Check pool and create build with 3 from each aspect. (9 talents total) Do NOT build around a specific exotic but keep them in mind. 2) Do NOT buy slot upgrades for aspects. Just reroll once or twice to find 1/9 talents from build. You CAN fully overcome the RNG this way. > 3) Use excess credits to purchase Ammo/medpack upgrades or special ammo from supply station. DONT bring: ANY turret, drone or sticky bomb to Nemesis. DO bring: Hologram, Trap or even Riot foam if you're bold enough If you throw Hologram when room start countdown timer is on "00" it WILL WORK. Shock ammo does NOT work on Nemesis. Blind seems to work best however you can get it. NOTES / TIPS 1) STACKING the same talent to 10 is usually more impactful (and easier to keep track of) than buying have Level 2 in 5 different talents. 2) Most efficient weapon || Shotgun: [Super90] or [M870] With Surgical, Crit dmg & (+DMG% Talent) this will clear entire doors in 1-4 shots. Post-Nemesis it will down Hunters and massive elites in 2 shots. This is with NO RED CORES. All Blue cores and still 2 shotting elites because talents matter more than cores for Dmg. Blue will make your team nearly invincible if someone on the team follows the next tip. 3) Most Underrated Talent || [Leadership] At rank 10 it allows you to give your teammates +100% of your armor as bonus armor every 10 seconds. That's a full "Overheal", for the entire team, that costs no medkit and can be done several times a fight. If you pair this with Overwatch, at rank 10, it gives your team 100% extra weapon damage. If you pair it with Optimistic, at rank 10, hitting an enemy with a shotgun/marksman rifle causes them to take 100% more dmg. 4) If these are followed then by loop 20+ you wont run into the massive danger spike that comes when enemies begin 1 shotting everyone.
The shock ammo absolutely works on the Nemesis. I use it every time basically because I always have shock ammo as an option prior to the fight for some reason.
Nemesis is immune to shock, you’ll see the blue “Immune” tag if you try shooting him with shock rounds. Always pick the High Velocity rounds, and try to have some incinerator rounds for backup in your pistol (handy for boss rooms & arenas when the HVT gets too close to you & you need to immobilize them).
I had never been interested in this mode, but one of the new priority objectives was to complete one loop of descent (I didn't know what the hell a loop was), so I thought how hard can it be? IMO, if you're going to invest NSA tech into boosting your permanent stats, I'd focus on these first: Armor on kill: This was the first thing I maxed out. Armor and medkits are precious commodities in this mode. Getting back armor for every kill is extremely useful in staying alive and saving currency since you won't need to buy medkits as frequently. Accuracy, stability, critical hit chance, headshot damage: Anything that helps you do more damage with your gun is great to have in this mode. Also, more accuracy and stability make it easier to use the Unhinged talent. Status effects: These are crucial for Nemesis, since stunning him with status effects opens up many safe opportunities to deal damage. Skill haste: Skills can be a lifesaver in this mode, and having more access to them more frequently is great. Protection from elites: You always want to do a High Value Target room when they come up to get more NSA tech, but the HVT hurts a lot if he shoots you. This gives you a little more margin for error when going up against them.
a great tip i found in the start of the first few loops was to only use a pistol, once you get to the boss room you can then use the main weapon. this way you save of ammo and restock in the room after. I use a pistol most too.
I am very pleased with the video. At the beginning I couldn’t get to loop 3. After your video I finished and learned from my mistakes. Great supply of information that makes players stronger in descent and also find an easy way to finish it. Thx. Was top .

For first weapon, i´d rather suggest of picking any smg, assault or shotgun. That elevated position at far left side when solo is not great. Couple fire or oxi chem bursts from Nemesis to there and you got nowhere to go, you stand up from cover and if he shoots at you, you might die. Rather i would stay still at far left but at around high structure before going up the stairs. This way you can always stay opposite of Nemesis and when anything is thrown at you, take couple steps back from cover in case Nem shoots any chem directly to that cover. Usually any chem flies over you.
The shocker was that the game mode was not to be unlocked until the end of the campaign but it was the first thing I unlocked since the first place I explored was the east of the white house. I was doing descent from the beginning.
Nice guide GC! Will definitely use this on next nemesis since he killed me so fast before! Have to say I grew to despise shied carriers this weekend in descent lol!!!
So I tried Descent for the first time today, the video was helpful! I wanna get the blue uniform but My luck isn't doing too well. Ive played Destiny 2 and always soloed grandmaster night falls but I go in with my own set up. This one is a bit more challanging. Edit: I just found the nsa concole and found the stat updates. I like this. Makes getting through decent easier.
They would have to triple the rewards to make it worth it especially when you make the outfits literally cost over 1,600 almost 1700 NSA credits. The rifle isn't that bad in terms of its price at 350 but with no blueprint in sight you get what you get that first roll and then You're stuck with it. For me I minimum rolled on two of my stats so I'm just screwed out of using it because it's that bad.
When u said at 4:34-4:39, u got ur wording mixed up because it's not at the end of the loop, it's at the beginning of the loop. Also at 16:33-16:35 it's not end of loop 2, it's beginning of loop 3.
I am new to the game (played Division 1 a bit). And so basically this is the roguelike mode and dark zone is the extraction shooter mode (Tarkov like)?
I’ve never attempted The Descent so I thought I’d give it a go and it sucks. It might be a decent idea in theory but in practice it is an exercise in pure frustration, Snakes and Ladders on steroids.
That's is very good explained tips I'm doing the same thing in descent:) if you defeat nemesis you will get exotic cache but in that cache can you get eagle bearer?
No, it can do that as it is a bit random. I think I have had all hard rooms to choose from at times. Normally on your run to the Nemesis you will get a choice to do easy or medium most of the time
WELL THE DEVPS WANT US TO PLAY IT THAT IS WHY THEY HAVE PUTSO MANY GOOD STUFF IN THERE, BUT MOST PLAYER JUST DONT LIKE IT LOL. I JUST DID ENOUGH COINS TO BUY THE GUN AND HAVE IT IN MY COLLECTION....NOW I DONT GO THERE FOR NOTHING. THE ONLY WAY I WILL GO IN THERE IS IF THEY ADD A ZOMBIE MODE INSIDE THERE LOL
I don’t mean to hijack your tutorial but the Descent community is quite small so I figured I’d ask here. Are you aware of anything that we as players can do that can help alleviate Delta 3 crashes in Descent? I’ve seen some people claim it’s 100% developer issue & others claim it’s the player’s network. I don’t know which is more correct. I’m constantly getting Delta 3 shortly after 3 waves begin (usually around loop 18-22). Furthest I’ve been able to go is 26 recently until I crashed. Honestly, I don’t even remember the last time I’ve actually died in Descent. I really enjoy the game mode but it’s beyond frustrating to get slapped with that disconnect when things are just starting to get tougher & more fun.
Try to avoid talents that make you jump through hoops for them to proc, like Agonising Bite which marks an enemy for you, and youre supposed to hit that target, instead of hitting the target that is the most convenient, or biggest threat, to you. Agonising bite might mark a target you cant even see, so..... useless.
Descent ABSOLUTELY sucks...100%... The rooms are too small to really do anything tactical at all in (nvm getting like 5 seconds to assess the area's layout/multiple enemy entries & position accordingly), the limited choice of skill/weapon opts coupled with hideous RNG (for me, at least...it's typically fully useless altogether or a mismatched/non-complimentary choice of weapons/skills), they give you ammo boxes for like the 1st 2 rooms, then stop altogether/forcing you to purchase before exiting (that was a nice surprise on my last mag after a tough room with only a Boss door left as my sole choice to proceed). If you bring friends, they amp it up kind of ridiculously/exponentially harder...if you go solo it's Loading-Screen City (even if successful it's tediously long & repeatedly dying/restarting is like vacationing in the 7th circle of Hell; seems eternal) I've done 12+ attempts & made it to room 4. Once. That would be the last mag/only 1 door Boss room. Left with absolutely NOTHING to show for my time & effort. FUN. It's completely stupid & insanely unbalanced, not enjoyable whatsoever...but the TRUE nemesis, IMHO, isn't even the RNG - it's the UNGODLY long amount of time having a load-screen siesta fiesta. SUPER glad they moved certain loot pools to basically Descent-only just to force people to play this mode, rather than make it BETTER. I absolutely LOATHE Descent~
That being said... Good video though, seriously...you explained it quite well, versus not at all (ie, how the Dev's programmed Descent to introduce you to the mode totally blind & unprepared)
The problem is when I did runs solo I chose easy rooms but my runs were always stopped because I reach a point where all the rooms were hard and I get totally demolished.
Just reaching the nemesis should always give easy rooms and even the hard rooms are not too bad. I sometimes try a challenge where I am not allowed to pick any upgrades, only weapons and it only starts getting hard about loop 4. Make sure you are choosing your talents wise. The more DPS the better!
I played descent once and got swarmed by drones and cars in the second easy room with no armor or other means to counter them. That was it for me. Why would grind for hundreds of hours for my build and then not use it? There are more interesting games with instakill mechanics for those who like being punished....
I have a question for you, do you know if you can get the blueprint from descent for the LMG 'The Stinger'? It's one of the last guns i need to expertise on.
At 24:20 you mention you have Unhinged Rank 3. Is this from having it offered several times and simply choosing it over and over, or how did you rank that up? Same with Eyeless being rank 4
Yes it is exactly that. If you choose something and get offered it again you will uograde it to the next tier improving the stats of it. Sorry I wasn't clearer on this
Insane. I learned SOOOOO much from the video. Cant say I liked the first few runs, but this makes me hopeful! Thanks as always for the community and the vids! @@GCROCK
Ive been playing for 3 hours, easy and med rooms only, I have only made it thru loop 2 and so far I have earned absolutly nothing, no xp, no loot no nothing.
Is the reconstructed cache after defeating the Nemesis not a guaranteed reward? I ask because I just stopped at loop 12 (got bored) only to check my inventory and ZERO reconstructed caches. So is it random?
Must agree with the gentleman you play the game at present to get the new exotic find it a bit of a grid basically you have to kill nemesis about 5times to get your cash for the exotic just my personal opinion but love the new set-up

its hard, try full dev atributes and preffer red talents. ull need alot of damage with high rate of fire to fill nemesis ( or good player skill with rifle same as the video with plaque ).
This mode is not really viable in a group takes way too long to get any rewards worth the time. The rifle isnt really that good since you have to grind to potentially drop another with good stats.
Ah, just realised, you live and never learn. The talent options this rotation are pi** poor. Aside from Entrench, Preservation and Precise (assuming you’re good with headshots) none of the go-to talents were available today 🤨 Cheers DJT 👊🏼

You see my upgrades at the end. This is my PC account and hardly touched Descent. I made the Nemesis look so easy because it is and always has been based on the information and strategy I give you in this video. It just takes practice. This run I recorded was the perfect run in terms of talents and weapons that I got given but even so, there are a lot of options to consider when you just want to beat the Nemesis that will make it a breeze.
its hard, try full dev atributes and preffer red talents. ull need alot of damage with high rate of fire to fill nemesis ( or good player skill with rifle same as the video with plaque ).
I've never gotten good rolls, talents or exotics...(max loop is 9m , made it to the Nem 3 times) I stick to hard or greater rooms in hopes of better loot... Best I've gotten is 1 exotic by the end... how you guys get 2, 3+ by loop 6-8 blows my mind... I swear the toobers posting vids are cheating some how... when I get to the end I always get owned by the nemesis... I focus on armour at first, then once 40-50% I then focus on Weapon... never tried a skill variant.
Yeah I just cheat 🤣 .. Exotics are RNG. One is all you need. In my opinion focusing on armor is where you are going wrong. You want as much damage as possible for the Nemesis. Focus on damage, get a rifle or sniper for the nemesis. If trauma is available use it!! Unhinged is practically another exotic talent it is that good. Pick Devestating at the end of every loop. Choose easy rooms all the way, it makes the process a lot quicker. Practice all of this as explained in my guide and you can cheat too 🤣 You will kill the Nemesis every time.
First of all most tubers are on pc... I doubt it that some of them wanna play on Xbox like I do. There is a huge difference on the game play depending on the platform used.. The other dark side is that most of these tubers will not really help, keep an eye of the comments or give a good advice when you need... pretty high on themselves tho

Amazing video. Thanks!
Great video bro, thanks!👍🏻
Thanks for the info, very helpful..
Thanks for this informative guide..
What do I do to make it more exciting and not put me to sleep?
Unfortunately if its putting you to sleep there's no fix for that, all you can do is find a new love for the game or move on.
Thanks for this tutorial 👏
Great info, thanks
They would have to triple the rewards to make it worth it especially when you make the outfits literally cost over 1,600 almost 1700 NSA credits. The rifle isn't that bad in terms of its price at 350 but with no blueprint in sight you get what you get that first roll and then You're stuck with it. For me I minimum rolled on two of my stats so I'm just screwed out of using it because it's that bad.
Worth it? The game mode is fun. It’s about having fun, not suffering through it just to get a good reward.
When u said at 4:34-4:39, u got ur wording mixed up because it's not at the end of the loop, it's at the beginning of the loop. Also at 16:33-16:35 it's not end of loop 2, it's beginning of loop 3.
Hey great video :)
I am new to the game (played Division 1 a bit). And so basically this is the roguelike mode and dark zone is the extraction shooter mode (Tarkov like)?
Thanks G ❤
So, to get blueprint and the exotic rifle the quickest way is to easy all the time?
You only need to be level 2 to unlock Descent. Basically finish new player tutorial and unlock the base of operations.
No, eagle bearer is raid only and it also has a very small chance of dropping in the DZ
@@GCROCK okay :/ :(
There is not always a easy room. Sometimes I have 2 medium room and one hard room. Is this a bug?
No, it can do that as it is a bit random. I think I have had all hard rooms to choose from at times. Normally on your run to the Nemesis you will get a choice to do easy or medium most of the time
What's the set at 29:48 ?
The most annoying thing about this game mode is when you have a perfect build on and get delta after Loop 25 or 8 hours of game play.
i hope this isn't a trend with future exotics, because i refuse to play this mode.
Agonising bite might mark a target you cant even see, so..... useless.
I will forever hate this new “loot pool” of talents every few days, I very much prefer all of them in one RNG pool.
Never pick easy rooms. Always the hardest
I think Descent is bugged. I defeated Nemesis but didnt get collectible
Yea.... me too
They said they fix so many bugs I’ve had more bugs on this update then ever
Did same to me that never played it again
Side note. If you do this strat the nemesis can spawn next to you. I insta died lol
The stinger is an item that I believe to be part of the friend referral program. If it is, that is the only way to obtain it
At 24:20 you mention you have Unhinged Rank 3.
@@GCROCK
Group scaling in Decent is set way to high for a group, which is a problem in a multiplayer game.
Ive been playing for 3 hours, easy and med rooms only, I have only made it thru loop 2 and so far I have earned absolutly nothing, no xp, no loot no nothing.
How do you leave the Descent? I got put in there after looting a box nearby, and there was no exit. I had to quit the game to get out.
Hey G! If I buy those exotic cashes or that exotic weapon, can I use it in this descent mode? Thank you for your answer
Hey, no any items you get will be for outside if the game mode only
How do I avoid the shock on the emp modifier
The patch is after completing loop 42.
Thank you!!
@@grumpyoldman6503 your right but I think you have to complete loop 41?
Great video , but the ruuums 😂😂😂
Quick question. Ik we level up while playing this mode but what happens if your cache boxes is full. What happens to those other caches?
They will go into your mailbox in your stash
Is the reconstructed cache after defeating the Nemesis not a guaranteed reward? I ask because I just stopped at loop 12 (got bored) only to check my inventory and ZERO reconstructed caches. So is it random?
I believe its a 50/50 chance
@@GCROCK I didn't know that. Thanks GC
They totally destroyed the bakers dozen now. Every time you swap you lose about 5 rounds and then lucky shot doesn't work anymore either.
You need to just say, Descent is ALL RNG...draw crap, you die before nemisis....that's why this mode is total bs....to much RNG involved...
Lol what? You can beat the whole thing and never get any dmg skills, noobs
🤣🤣 noobs
Must agree with the gentleman you play the game at present to get the new exotic find it a bit of a grid basically you have to kill nemesis about 5times to get your cash for the exotic just my personal opinion but love the new set-up
@@garethevans7172 the basis of this entire game is to grind
Beat part you can have a gnarly status build going then the game crashes, or some guy managed to equip his revive give over his primary
I suck: Had bullet hell and plague of the outcasts heading into nemesis with green m60 and green Famas and he still downed me.
is this still up to date?
Yes 👍👍
Why are you starting with a gamemode that is not what the players will encounter first?
Pretty sure this is the first gamemode players encounter
Can you log out mid loop to take a break from the run or does it reset everything
Will reset everything which makes this mode frustrating af
@@SkypherOfficial well thats sucks would love to have small logoutbreak checkpoints or somthing that or longer/unlimited log in time when afk so i can stay in there witout logging out
@@RisingReap When I play on console my group will use rubber bands to take afk breaks as getting to 50+ loops takes 12 hours or so.
Got the new rifle. It's.... ok
no checkpoint what a joke
I made it too loop 18 😅
I can’t even get past loop one. Then I just give up
I dont get to choose an exotic every loop
RNG
Never killed nemesis...1.5k hours playtime....embarrassing me 😢
its hard, try full dev atributes and preffer red talents. ull need alot of damage with high rate of fire to fill nemesis ( or good player skill with rifle same as the video with plaque ).
Anyone knows how long you can keep those nsa credits ?
Infinite time. They wont expire 👍
@@GCROCK thank you sir
This mode is not really viable in a group takes way too long to get any rewards worth the time. The rifle isnt really that good since you have to grind to potentially drop another with good stats.
The division team is desperate. They are forcing players to play Descend mode. Descend is failure.
Ah, just realised, you live and never learn. The talent options this rotation are pi** poor. Aside from Entrench, Preservation and Precise (assuming you’re good with headshots) none of the go-to talents were available today 🤨
Cheers DJT 👊🏼
Descent trash now, was great before update pumping out 6-8 hour runs, now its trash
This game mode is the biggest dud EVER!! Hate it
yep, runned yesterday with 2 teammates for 1hr, and only got 30 credits -.- now watching this video..maybe it helps.... 14 nsa credits for 1 arena, and 55 for the nemesis, wow, thats brutal much! great video though, but its a long way to be there where u are !
I love it, it’s a nice change starting over but not completely. Plus the customizing of the talents and stacking them is fun
@@jimmya5398 it plays slow u have no armor n the npcs push u lik nun other I did three runs yesterday never got to the nemesis f this game mode
He made beating the nemesis look easy. But he probably has all the nsa upgrades. I have never beat the nemesis. Unless they have made it easier, before this update, it was insanely hard to beat...🎉🎉🎉. Nice video though 🎉🎉
Injust cant reach to Nemesis.. fkin ammo shouldn be unlimited
its hard, try full dev atributes and preffer red talents. ull need alot of damage with high rate of fire to fill nemesis ( or good player skill with rifle same as the video with plaque ).
I've tried so hard to play this mode but geezus it is so so so boring! I just cant.
Frrrweeeeee? Is that meant to be three? 😂😂
This mode is beyond infuriating with its RNG nonsense
I mained PS before PC. This guide will cover you regardless of the platform you play on.
@@GCROCK Thank you, following this I was able to win. unfortunately got Dr. Home as the best exotic selection. was tough until I got my skills back from the initial scramble.. but I was able to get skock-traps and the hologram for skills. again thank you
Well done, a bit more practice and you will do this every time as it now gets easier and easier. GG Agent
Is this guide for children?
Its for anyone that needs it
Good Video...however, for me this is the most unattractive activity in the division....
It’s such a boring mode just like summit the raids and there crap incursion it’s just no fun or worthwhile
Is there anything you do like? 🤣
