It's better to have peace and stability in Hong Kong than chaos, unrest and unrealistic demands for something that even the British government didn't grant to people in Hong Kong in all its 150 years of colonial rule. People in Hong Kong have to be realistic that Hong Kong already been handed back in 1997 and being part of the one country. If people dislike the fact about being in the one country with China, then they could always migrate to wherever to get their demands for independence. Overseas Chinese would be too happy to fill in their place if Hong Kong authorities allow them to stay in Hong Kong on permanent basis and to work for the prosperity and stability for Hong Kong, and also to further the role as the financial and technology hub for China and also as a cultural bridge between China and the world.
