For anyone watching this: if you like a color but aren't sure about the formula, one of my favorite ways to use these videos is for color dupes. I'll look at a color from Kackie's roundup and run it through Temptalia (or the internet in general) to see if there's something in my collection or in a formula I know I like that matches. Or if it does dupe to something I've interacted with and hated the color on me, then I know it's an easy skip.

I have finally given up on beige and brown lipsticks because they’re all too warm for me, but I’m settling in to watch this anyway.
I also thought this, but dang Gucci really comes through with the neutral to cool tones
I’m actually surprised you don’t have Lisa Eldridge’s Meet me in Berlin shade nor the Victoria Beckham lipstick in Pose (or any of the neutral shades for the matter) 😮 Never the less, Chanel’s Boy reigns supreme in my nude collection thanks to you XD (I bought it right away after your Full face Chanel video, which yes it’s my favorite Kackie video too hahaha)
The Mario mauve glow was the first nude lippie that worked for me. That was around when I realized I had an olive undertone and nudes for neutral skin tones all turned orange on me. So ever since then I’ve looked for slightly purple-leaning nudes, which all work so well 🥹🥹
I understand now why I like matte lips because I prefer higher pigment! I have darker lips so if I use something slippery I get frustrated because it’s basically invisible on me 😂😂
The candy glaze in 15 looks so good one me. Typically, very little in the lip department does! I’m med/light olive with dark features if this helps anyone. Rose/mauve tends to work well for me.
My issue with nude lipstick is I constantly buy my exact lip color by accident 😅

I subscribed to Kackie a while ago because I’m a fan of Amanda’s but I never really watched her content because I was weirdly scared off from the one or two videos I watched. I felt like she was a little too extra for me. But recently I started watching her videos and I just can’t stop! Her aesthetic and her view on colour theory is just everything! 😁
I quickly fell in love with the extra piece and now she's one of my favorites.

What I want to figure out next is the category of like … soft, almost even a little beige-y reds? Like the Hourglass glossy balm in Haze. What is that color called? Or the way Glossier Gen G in Zip feels wearable and won’t take over a look but will still lend you some red. And there’s a “beige” Chanel lip and cheek product in a pot that I strongly suspect might be in a similar vein. Find me all the muted reddish colors that I won’t just ignore like I do my actual reds!!!
One reason I'm subscribed is that when you describe colors I don't feel like I'm seeing something completely different from what someone is describing. Thanks for your vocabulary and art math!!

Could you do a color theory video? I was so interested when you said your undertone cancels out the purple leaving it pink on the last one. And the difference between contrast with opaque colors and layering with translucent ones

These videos are so fun! I would add that the lip oils from Ami Cole would fall in this category. The color Excellence is a beautiful sheer brown, and Bliss is a beautiful sheer pinky beige. The formula is beautiful, too, if you like a thicker, more tenacious gloss formula.

Whenever people swatch their beige/brown lipsticks, I'm just so confused because they always look red or orange to me 😂 Do I just have a different understanding of brown in general? Or am I taking beige/brown lips to literal?
I'm not a skin twin, but I'm not too far off (my match in the Givenchy concealer is N120). Technically, I have brown hair and brown eyes, but that's something you can only see in direct sunlight. In any other lighting my hair looks dark grey (sometimes with a blue or green tint) and my eyes look black. If I want something to look beige/brown on me it needs to lean much more dusty pink/mauve or even grey. My perfect beige is Mac Modesty.
It's also interesting to me that you don't like s true red on yourself, but a brick color gives reads as red on you. A true red looks fine on me, but it doesn't pop in the same way that red lipsticks do on other people. If I want that "classic red" effect I need to wear a fuchsia.
Love the face swatching series. Comparing so many products in close proximity to each other and getting into all the formulas is so helpful, even if some shades aren't for me because --- now I know.
My only point of contention is ... the Gucci lipstick scent is literally my favorite smell in the world. I love powdery and violet notes and dream about dousing myself in a fragrance version of it. Lip products with no added fragrance like the Tower28 gloss make me borderline ill because of the ingredients' waxy scent. Though, I can def see how the intensity of it is off-putting. Kind of strange that the remaining lipstick that comes off on a napkin at the end of the day smells just as strong as it did in the bullet. It's like logo-mania spilling over into the olfactory, as if saying "DON'T FORGET IT'S GUCCI". Smells kinda desperate, really. Couldn't be me, Gucci *eye roll*.

In the interest of trying to make all the colors on my face look good together, can you art math explain to me how it is my skin (which matches best with light/medium neutral foundations/concealers that lean a bit warm) turns a blush like Hanky Lanky into a orange-coral ish color??? I just want something that looks like my natural flush but better. But EVERYTHING looks like a bad bronzer, or clown cheeks.

It might seem weird, but I just got a lipstick from Merit and I think 1990 is my perfect nude. My skin (according to makeup lines) is right between light/medium and is like a warmish/neutral olive. My top lip is also more brown/grey than pink, and my bottom lip is not very pink anyways. I've discovered that brown lips look best on me than pinks or berries and peach looks horrid, so 1990 is like the perfect neutral brown that's not too saturated and is almost the same tone value as my top lip! It looks so nice on me
Ya, an iNNBEAUTY lip oil lover here. I had hoped Cookie was cooler than it is on the lips, because it would have been close to Guerlain Divinora in 480, but alas. Anyway, I still like it, because it also has a decent amount of grey. My lips have a ton of cool mauve in them, and even though has faded a bit, saturated; I use iNNBEAUTY Frose as my every day, which mutes my lips just a bit, so acts as a nude. That said, I've gotta be careful with warmer toned nudes because I have a pigmented, blurry lip margin, like some folks' lips when they have a cold, or chapped lips. Warmer nudes make that really stand out. It's also why I'm curious about the Sephora Tan Lines, because I'm ultra curious how that would play with my lip hue, as well as the margin. It could make the margin stand out, or if smooshed into it, maybe neutralize it. Lastly, I'd get chanel boy in a future purchase, but dagnabbit, it has bismuth! Gucci has a few that I'm curious about, in addition Lorna Dune: Linda Beige, Pauline Brown, Susan Nude, and if it were still around, A Royal Scandal. Thanks, Kackie!

Sad you didn't include Merit signature lipsticks - slip (kind of toffee nude) and baby (kind of warm mauve nude) are perfect for my very fair, neutral/warm skin. Also love the formula! btw, for reference, Kosas Vegas, at least the old formula, looks like bandaid concealer on me (matches my skin tone way too closely).
Which one is the uoma (in the red case) most similar too (NARS breathless)?

I don’t see the Lorna Dune color on the Gucci website anymore. Actually, a lot of their pretty nude shades aren’t appearing at all anymore in their satin line. It will be such a shame if they discontinue this and those colors.

Haha, fun swatches! In terms of scent, and, while I love Gucci bronzers/blushes, and their mascara is my number one go-to, the lipstick fragrance is a deal breaker. I don't compromise. It's terrible, and while I carried YSL in my high-end cosmetics store for over 18 years, I can no longer use them because of the fragrance. I used to love them, but I can't wear them anymore. All that said, what happened to Cle De Peau/Sisley-Paris/Christian Louboutin (has fragrance but...)/Bond 9 mhmmmm/Tom Ford ❤/Shiseido/Chantecaille ❤ /Dries Van Noten/Byredo/Hermes (you may have shown one?) they all have stunning lippies. But, discounting drugstore? L'oreal, Maybelline, even MAC/Charlotte Tilbury (not drugstore but terrible nonetheless) are horrible. That said, there are beautiful drugstore lippies on the market that rival high-end. Anyone who's anyone in the industry knows that. It was a fun way to swatch them along with some really nice colors. Oh, and I'm a huge fan of VB... love her line! Nice job and thanks!

And then, inevitably, the moment something I actually own goes on and I realize how wildly warm/yellow I am 😂. I can’t wear Vegas because it’s so exactly my skin tone it looks like I don’t have lips at all-bad creepy not cool creepy- and on kackie it looks ooorange. Fascinating. Only thing I’ve found that works like a beigey nude on me is Glossier Cake.
The Hourglass Satin lipstick in Dahlia which is supposed to be a rosewood somehow wears down to leave a bright pink pigment on my lips. So weird. Really disappointing.

I’ve tried the Sephora ones and I loved the color but the smell and taste was soooo offensive I had to return it. They have a very chemically taste, it’s like gasoline or something I don’t even know how to describe it. I must be weird or something, but I can’t be the only one-so sad. I don’t know what they put it in it but its the same thing that is in a lot of drugstore products. 😢

I watch your videos because one, you do luxury makeup. 2 because I like hearing different people's views. 3 I like hearing your stories. But please excuse me for being negative, you for one knows that Mental Health is real. I said nothing before because except for the videos with Thumb Nails like this I still want to watch your videos. But when you or anyone comes across my feed with your face like that is triggering and a little traumatizing. I can't explain it. I think it may be related to my near death medical incident in 2018. I have PTSD. I do apologize. I was only on here to write this. These videos I can't look at because I know what is going to happen.
