Good building skills, good attitude, good driving, and a pretty tough vehicle. Mallory is a hoot! I'm not a Ford fan, or the 500lb a diesel adds to the front of a vehicle, or how poorly manual transmissions do off-road, BUT y'all did good in the ONYX challenge.
@@freeidaho-videos thanks? I know my drivetrain choice was unconventional, but it is what I had, and honestly it worked better than I hoped. As a daily driver and mid level trail runner, I think it will be great.
Low end torque of a diesel and a manual sound pretty awesome offroad. Just let out the clutch and it will crawl lol. Just needs some gearing, an Eco box or a magnum with a 205 would be perfect if he can swing it.
@ if anything, would probably just re gear the axles from 4.10 to 4.88. Rear driveshaft is already scary short, so I don’t think adding length with an eco box or other is a good idea. With the 5:1 first gear of the zf5 and the 2.72 ratio in the NP271, it isn’t horrible right now.
