Just back from my 2nd run with my TRX-6. Another 5 mile hard crawl/trail. This thing is truly sensational. Never had so many people completely flabergasted at what they were seeing ! It has eaten all my very special rocks as though it was a joke. It is on par with my very heavily modded GMade R1 on Hyrax. I crawl the Derbyshire Peak District. We also have great rocks for crawling. Your review finally made me have to get one so thanks Francis for recommending this fantasmagorical machine. 40 years of RC and this is my best vehicle of any description. He is called Brutus.
I like mine, My grandson loves it. All the kids like it best. Has a certain cool factor. I like to take mine camping. At night, you can use it to patrol your campsite, it never gets stuck. Chasing raccoons around the campsite is so much fun its giddy. Also chases snakes away. Unexpected use's and fun. Camping in snake areas, I I drive it in front of me, this can save your life if your a camper, hiker, explorer type.
I bought it 4 months ago and absolutely love it. Only 30 days after purchase the servo broke and it had been under light and gentle use by then. I got a new servo and everything has been fun since then.
Watched again .. this is one of the top videos that helped me when deciding to get this truck after owning the Sport adventure and the Defender. Stock servo came with metal horn, but was out after 1.5 runs. Unreal -No I did not call traxxas, why bother😂
Great review. Having driven Unimogs in Europe while on deployment. I really wanted Axial’s rig to check all the boxes. But I thought they cut way too many corners and in the end I bought the TRX6 and so glad I did.
I purchased both the TRX 4 G500 for my lady & the TRX 6 for myself 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 I’ve upgraded both SERVOs & adding brushless to increase the fun factor later. Great trucks for parks & trails. 💯 Best RCs!!!
I am really starting to like this vehicle....definitely a future purchase......I want to say that I appreciate what you do on this channel. Myself, I am new to RC this year, and so far behind everyone on the knowledge of the electronics, chassis, suspensions, and RC's in general. So I started watching all of your videos because you take the time to talk about the vehicle as a whole.....you cover everything down to even the batteries & chargers...so I have save the videos that I think pertains to the direction that I have decided to go with starting my RC adventure......I have never seen or heard you say your name....I would like to get it so when I start doing my videos I can suggest to my future viewers, to check out your videos......again, I appreciate your honest opinions because they give those seeking answers a direction to go, and a chance to enjoy their RC's.
Really good ! Now we ask for a face to face match between Sport TRX4 and TRX6, both stock version (because upgrades changes to much any performance)... who will be the champion of crawlers ? Thanks for your job !
Both this and Axial's new Capra offer the same dilemma for me. The rock garden that I crawl in daily would offer zero challenge to either RC. And since I'm only a renter I cannot make such changes to the rock garden to make it challenging..
@@rcplayer7581 along with breaking servos to switch the lockers. But if you spend over 200 for brushless, 80 on steering servo say 50 on bumpers and cut off the side exhaust pipes etc .. as he says ... On top of....."they give us so much for our money".... What a joke
I know this is an old video but you might see my comment. When ever I watch a vid with a 6x6 in it, the truck looks awkward as it cantilevers and chews over stuff. It seams like it balances on its center axle which causes a loss of traction for ether other axle looking for traction. Those European 8x8’s Tatra’s etc don’t seem to bobble as much. It that observation just me or do you notice that too? I know they have rc Tatras but they cost a mint! Maybe you could find a good one and compare it to an 8x8.
Yeah but crawlability, quality & looks.. the trx-6 seems alot better than axial’s 6x6. Not being axial hater as I own five axial vehicles And I just recently bought a trx4 sports kit.. the difference is huge in my experience. 👍🏽
It's a great platform and I'm so glad they made the 6x6 version of it. I hope they'll release some heavy truck body for it. If not Traxxas some third party, I have a soft sport for stuff like the Man KAT1, Maz and the like :D
Can someone please tell me weather this or the trx4 defender is best. Im so stuck on what to get. The trx6 sounds like one of the best but i cant get over the defenders looks
Nice vídeo! I’m new to the hobby and watched a lot of videos of the TRX6. So at one point, watching your videos, I was convinced that it was the one for me. Then I ordered one two days ago and can’t wait to get it. By the way, I’m thinking something funny: that’s mostly a scale model and a crawler, much like the real one, right? Well, considering the 1/10th scale at 9 mph top speed, that would equal 90 mph on the real one? Maybe that’s much more realistic than to go 20+mph with that particular model, don’t you think? Up to 9 mph it still moves like the real thing! What do you think? Thanks for all the tips. Liked and Subscribed!👍🏻
Im buying the axial because i have a trx4 and over time ive come to dislike traxxas ill be selling the trx4 because i dont like them .just like my local hs rather not deal with them i dont care if the traxxas is better they cant have my money
Thanks very, very much for the thorough evaluation, and mentioning the shortcomings, like electronics and steering servo. Of course they can hire engineers and select manufacturers to design and produce a superior product that doesn't have such glaring problems that will affect real-world performance and durability ... But we know why they do this: For higher profit margins, to support the aftermarket, and to appeal to prosumer OCD perfectionist types who enjoy co-dependent relationships with inanimate objects; a.k.a. hobbyists and collectors. You see this across several categories of luxury goods such as expensive mechanical watches; it plays on people's natural insecurities and allows one to rationalize avarice. Okay, maybe that last bit was a little over the top (pun intended) LOL! But seriously, great reviews and really appreciate your honesty, integrity, and logical minded approach! : )

That's a pretty beautiful truck, dude. And runs amazingly! 😃 Awesome review!!! BTW, take a look at the last video from Goncalo Quinas. I bet you are going to take some ideas there! 😃
The best thing is to pefectly adjust them at the limits. Also, keep the receipt and serial number handy as Traxxas knows of the issue and will replace them even past the normal warranty period.
Buy a different radio... The issue here is that the stock radio does not have end point adjustment for the shifting servos so they rely on little servo savers to not over extend its travel, Eventually the weak plastic gears break. You can fix this for cheap by simply untighten the screws holding the shifting servos a little bit so they have a little play, But the ideal solution is to get a better radio overall that has end point adjustments.. You can get the fly sky GT5 radio for cheap, I am personally a stick user so I use the Fly Sky i6 (Air Radio) in my TR4/6 and it has 6 full channels with proper end points.
@@RCReviewChannel what's the drive train problem? If it's the rear drive shaft popping out that hasn't happened to me yet. I've had the umg 6x6 for 2 weeks now and so far so good.

Right on buddy. We are addicted to RC so want to share all the info to help others out as well. Name is Francis or fc.
You got me wanting to go brushless in my trx6. It has been so much fun. Nice review and video. Thanks
You're welcome. It has fulfilled this vehicle's potential.
Goodness. This video compelled me to buy one today.. excellent review - thanks! But costed me over $1000 in Toronto.
Would you still buy one now if u didn’t have one?
Im gonna order one today with my stimulus check lmao
2 years ago and now im watchin it

Awesome video as ALWAYS Mr Cebedo ! Would a spectrum smart battery 3200 3S battery pack be enough for this bigger truck ? Thank you !!
Most definitely. We use a 2200 mah 3s on most days
Just watched the hobbywing motor esc upgrade video. Man that thing scoots even carrying another rc car. Thank you for quick answer.
Would a hh 550 10t on 3s do the job?
is this running video without the hobbywing ?
Would be nice to see some speed/bash comparison with the capra 2300kv.
So, my takeaway is that it would be great if they put out either a roller chassis of this- a kit of this- or both.
Agreed, a kit might be really interesting.
They wont, i like it but
They leave you forcing to upgrade , plastic horn why ?

Thanks for the review... I’d rather have this over axial’s 6x6. 👍🏽
No comparison since this TRX-6 is 2-speed. TRX-6 tops out at first gear at 9mph. and that's about the speed of the Capra. At 2nd gear, 24 mph.

Appreciate that. This gets expensive with brushless and good servo but it is worth it.
It came with a metal steering servo horn. I guess later batch maybe....

do all 6 diffs lock?
I mean all 3 diffs? :)
How did you hook the Traxxas light module in with the Axe system given there is no JST plug on the Axe ESC?
the traxxas light module can take up to 3s with no problem, you can connect it to a individual battery or a BEC
Wow ! awsome ! so cool 6x6 ! I like it !
really impressive.

What is the most weakness of 6x6?
Weakness is its size in tight spaces. Turning radius too but unlocking diffs address that.

We have a 6x6 video coming soon that will shock all. :) We finally modded it.

It's the king of scale crawlers.
@@sheldonisnumberone i agree👍
Telling you the only worth while lights are rocks lights literally no head lamp needed. Nice rig
The head lights are the best we've ever seen in an RTR. Nice beam pattern.
I was thinking, what if the four wheels were in the front instead....................
Or equally spaced! There are 8 wheelers out there in the real world and they seem like capable machines.
RC Review well now your just cheating you might as well have a centipede lol
Excellent review as always Francis! You seem partial to the Axial 6x6 I see though. :)
We like the Axial body and the price. Unfortunately, the Axial UMG10 has a significant drivetrain problem. Waiting on a solution/fix right now.

Beautiful body... Too much for crawler, maybe.. 🤕
It's not a bad performer. But we'll make a low profile body for it.
Man you're talking another 430$ on top of 600$.
Unfortunately that is true. Traxxas charges too much for cheap motor and Electronics.

So expensive.💰💰
It is pricey in it really does need brushless.
Why put crappy electronics in a $600 dollar RC??!! F that!
Traxxas just keeps reusing what they have from other vehicles. Really their weakness on such a good platform
