As someone who grew up in the 1950's, this movie went out of its way capture every nuance they could think of, of how the two eras differed and how people in 1955 would react encountering aspects of 1985 life. This should be used in history classes to bring the past to life (almost literally).
I SO miss the simpler way of life from a more innocent/naive time. We definitely had some serious issues that we addressed over time (racism, etc), thank goodness. What's really freaky to think about is how much things have changed between 1985 and now! My daughter was born in 1980; there are so many differences in everything that many younger reactors simply don't understand in the movie. It's like we live on another planet.
@@treetopjones737 And Jack Benny for Sec. of the Treasury, whose most iconic joke was his telling of having been held up by a mugger. Guy demands Benny's "money or your life." Moment of silence. Guy says "well?" Benny replies "I'm thinking, I'm thinking." (I.e., his whole schtick was how much of a tightwad he was.) From our current viewpoint looking back, most people, if they even heard of Reagan, don't know he was an actor. (The movie has his name on the marquee starring in a western with Barbara Stanwyck.) He was a B movie actor, too. To many people, up until election night in 1980, his chances were deemed a joke.
@@leslieoneal4464 Part of the claims of viewing the past through rose-colored glasses was that in the midst of events, it can be very VERY scary how they may turn out. When you look back, you know most threats come to naught. In the 1950's, atomic warfare was only a matter of time, not if. Commies were under every bed. Beatniks, hippies, pot, and protests were the harbinger of a complete collapse of society. Vietnam starting to flare up represented the tipping point of the domino effect where communism would take over all of Asia. At the same time, some things seem more innocent because we didn't know to look. The idea of child molestation was something far removed, only committed by a stranger in a raincoat (i.e., flasher), never a close relative or trusted professional. Sexual assault on women was thought to only happen to those whose sexy attire made them "ask for it." (The depiction of Biff in the car with Lorraine would be taken much more serious if filmed today, and no way would she, in the improved future, allow this guy around the house doing odd jobs.) Racial injustice was ignored. Aids was just beginning but thought to only affect gay men and people from Haiti, hence during the Reagan years, the FDA ignored it.
It *is* used in film classes as a "perfect movie." Practically nothing is wasted, and there's a ton of callbacks and payoffs later in the movie, it's infinitely rewatchable.
Almost exactly the same for me but the other one was Jedi….actually I think I liked part 2 more at the time being 4 years older. Seeing Jedi though is the earliest memory I have which is weird because I was 15(kidding obviously,I was 3 and a half)

I like the new Biff. He got his own buiseness, he seems genuinely happy and enthousiastic for George's book, he also got a better future. love your reaction
I probably saw this movie 20 times before I realized that Doc didn't actually have a permit. He can be seen in the background bribing the cop to look the other way.
great reaction to one of the greatest films of all time! you must be having a great time watching these again w your wife. she seems genuine and has good taste 💪🏼
Although the McFly family is living large, Biff is still the owner operator of his own auto detailing business. He landed on his feet and learned to clean the horse crud off of others' cars.
I have loved this movie since I was a child. Seeing her pure unadulterated joy and elation at parts of this movie truly made me smile. Her reactions are so great! I also love that the whole plot point surrounding Marty DESPERATELY trying to save his friend hit so hard. I loved seeing the tears of relief knowing that Doc wasn't dead, great catharsis!
Thanx for keeping the part where Marty looks back at Doc’s dead body at Twin Pines. It’s one of my favorite parts and does a LOT of show don’t tell work giving you an idea of their friendship.
Best writing, certainly. But for top marks in every other aspect of film quality, with sets, props, casting, acting, cinematography, etc. I'm still going to have to go with Lord of the Rings.
I could never had imagined a more perfect reaction, 11 out of 10. I saw the thumbnail and it was an excuse for me to watch my favorite movie, but I didn't expect this.
I absolutely adore your channel. Your humor and sheer excitement of the unknown is a joy to watch (And this movie is my all time favorite. Cant wait to see you tackle the sequels!)
People keep asking "How did Doc and Marty become friends?" I think I know. Follow this theory. (A bit lengthy): > In the original (opening) timeline of 1985, we see that the Brown mansion was burned down (with the exception of the garage 'workshop'), then later sold to developers. > Next to the 'garage-workshop' is a Burger King, built by the developers (these facts are seen in the first few minutes of the film). > Doc probably occasionally eats at the Burger King, for some quick meals. > Marty's brother Dave works there (he's seen in his Burger King uniform when he's "late for work"). > Marty probably visits Dave once in a while, and one time is there, discussing his "loud music" with Dave. > This is overheard by Doc, who is there for a Burger meal, and in the ensuing conversation, Doc tells Marty that he could build him a "Super Speaker" and amplifier. > Doc's interest is the scientific challenge, and Marty's is his 'Rock N Roll' fixation. > This becomes the basic connection between the two.
OMG you're adorable! That sigh of "Well, of course." when the cable got stuck under the branch... Can't wait for you to react to part two, it's my favourite of the three (and BttF is my favourite trilogy!)
The reason Doc tapes the letter back together is because when Marty tells him his father laid out Biff and has never done anything like that before he realises that the future has already been changed so he thought "What the hell"
This is probably the best reaction I've seen to this iconic movie. You picked up on things really quickly. Looking forward to your reactions to the next two movies.
@@joehoy9242 Well, Marty punched Biff earlier in the movie, so I don't think that was the first time that ANYONE had stood up to him, but definitely the first time that George did.
@@MatthewTheWanderer - Marty effectively tricked Biff and threw a punch while he was distracted. George was so incensed at Biff's attempt to rape Lorraine (not Elaine... Aaargh!} and his throwing her to the floor when she tried to come to his defense that he overcame Biff's arm-lock and knocked him out with a single punch. The difference is that George took Biff out when Biff had the advantage.

And shout out to my dude for laughing along with Nikki while letting her shine as the star of the show! It's not easy to not interrupt!! Keep up the good work you two!
There are great connections to 1955. The skateboard was invented around that time in California where the film takes place. Eddie Van Halen was born in 1955. The 1050’s, the RCA connector that lets you connect an outside device to a tv was introduced. It all relates to 1955! The first movie is great although my favorite is the third one. At the end of the second film, there is a trailer. Most people skip it so the third movie is fresh, without spoilers. Great job on this one.
You're not the only one who associated Delorean with Mandalorian. 35:32 Yes, it's a good thing turn-ups were in fashion. 39:32 I'm almost surprised he doesn't have an extra brother or sister with his parents so much happier and closer. While they set up the possibility of a sequel in the last scene, I don't think they knew they were going to make a sequel until the box-office success of this one.
And it's crazy they were so successful, yet still bought the same exact house in a crowded neighborhood. (and had room for a tennis court in the back yard) That's about the only large plot hole in this movie. Which is pretty impressive considering ALL the nuances they have looping back and forth through time (and movies)
Actually, that last scene in BTTF1 was set up as a sort of ending, just showing that the future would be wild. A sequel hadn't crossed their minds, since the movie had been turned down so many times by other studios (mainly due to the whole part about Marty/Lorraine and the incestuous vibe) and felt they'd be lucky if the movie would even break even. They had a few plot problems to figure out for part 2, like, why would Doc bring Jennifer along? But all things considered, they solved that one pretty nicely. Just a pity, that Claudia Wells couldn't return for the sequels, although Elizabeth Shue did quite well.
I watched this in 1985 and I don't know how many times I've rewatched it since. I love your reactions! I love when Huey Lewis tells them they're too loud and they're playing one of his songs. You will find about the 'shoe' in BTF II, but not what you think it might be.
That moment when it's asked is it going to be in the future? when not that long ago Doc literally says It's Your Kids Marty...something must be done about your Kids...LOL
1. Cranky principal Strickland/James Tolkan also played the ship's squadron leader in "Top Gun". 2. The teacher that tells Marty, "I'm afraid you're just too darn loud" is Huey Lewis himself. (Heart of rock and roll) 3. Eric Stoltz was first cast as Marty, but he didn't play well with others and was fired. Some of his long shots are still in the movie. 4. The flammable material set on fire with the model exercise had to have been put there on purpose. 5. It's always fun to see how people react to the Marty and his mom car scene. 🤣 6. George McFly/Crispin Glover didn't like that the story ended with the family being prosperous. 7. Twin Pines Mall becomes Lone Pine Mall when Marty takes one out when he goes back to 1955. 8. IMVHO part II is the best of the trifecta. 9. If you want a first time/share of an OUTSTANDING movie where Christopher Lloyd plays the heavy you must do "Who Framed Roger Rabbit".
6. That's because he completely misunderstood what was being said. It wasn't saying that money made them a better family, it was self-confidence that made them prosperous.
"Doc Brown told you specifically to stay indoors".... I died when she finished about kissing the mom. I absolutely love your reactions, Nikki, and you! You're hilarious. Keep up the hilarious reactions. 😂❤
Biff was a common name in the early to mid-20th century. It's derived from the Middle English word “bif,” which means “to strike” or “to hit." Eerily appropriate. One recent Biff is Biff Henderson, the stage manager and frequent comedic participant on David Letterman's various talk shows.
"Did he just whack his car on..." OMG you're funny. In all my day's, I have never ever seen someone moved to tears by this movie. Loved it. Can't wait for you to see the next one.
One of my all-time favorite film trilogies. I was 14 when the first one came out in 1985 and instantly fell in love with it. The friendship between Doc and Marty is amazing. I love the score composed for the film by one of my favorite composers, Alan Silvestri. He composed the scores for all three films. But my favorite thing about the Back To The Future films is the adventure. Even all these years later, the adventure is still amazing and just as awesome as the first time I saw each of these films. I never wanted them to end.
The crazy thing is that this movie was almost never made. They tried shopping it around to every Hollywood studio, and each one turned it down. Squeaky-clean Disney outright rejected the script specifically due to the intentionally awkward "mom crushing on her future son" aspect of the plot. Ultimately, Steven Spielberg was the only person who said yes and signed on to produce it, and it ended up being the biggest hit of 1985.
I think I was going to comment on something here, but now I'm just stumped. Never realized Billy Zane is in this!!! A fun reaction as always, you're a hoot, as I imagine one would say in 1955! Thanks for uploading. Greetings from Sweden

Nikki is the best crier I have ever seen in reactions. I bust out laughing every time she starts bawling. Great stuff!
There’s actually a deleted scene where Doc bribes the cop with cash.
great reaction to one of the greatest films of all time! you must be having a great time watching these again w your wife. she seems genuine and has good taste 💪🏼
Although the McFly family is living large, Biff is still the owner operator of his own auto detailing business. He landed on his feet and learned to clean the horse crud off of others' cars.
My first viewing of your reaction was so entertaining! So, now I'm subscribed and a fan.
One of my favorite parts of watching reactions is when someone knows and the other person doesn’t. They have to keep quiet.
"That's how I sleep."
If you've ever seen Family Guy, pay attention to whenever someone has a fall (usually Peter).
How many others subscribed when she started to cry seeing Doc pull out Marty's letter? :)
A younger Christopher Lloyd was in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" film with Jack Nicholson.
That’s also the youngest you’ll see him in any movie, since it was his first, and he was already 37 by then.
Thanx for keeping the part where Marty looks back at Doc’s dead body at Twin Pines. It’s one of my favorite parts and does a LOT of show don’t tell work giving you an idea of their friendship.
Also
Marty: Where are my pants?
Lorraine: Over there, on my HOPE chest
i loved the reaction. the laughs of the guy in the background, made my day! i have enjoyed them more than the movie :)
subscribed.
The Back to the Future trilogy is as close to a perfect movie trilogy as has ever been made.
Best writing, certainly. But for top marks in every other aspect of film quality, with sets, props, casting, acting, cinematography, etc. I'm still going to have to go with Lord of the Rings.
I was so confused what she meant in the intro when she said there'd be "some shoes" but then she mentioned it again at the end and NOW I GET IT!
In all 3 movies, Marty asks for a drink but is never able to drink it.
People keep asking "How did Doc and Marty become friends?" I think I know.
Follow this theory. (A bit lengthy):
> In the original (opening) timeline of 1985, we see that the Brown mansion was burned down (with the exception of the garage 'workshop'), then later sold to developers.
I remember seeing this movie for sale at Woolworth's on VHS when it first was available for $74.99
no wonder people rented
The reason Doc tapes the letter back together is because when Marty tells him his father laid out Biff and has never done anything like that before he realises that the future has already been changed so he thought "What the hell"
I always wondered why that scene had that focus....That's for sharing.
“Rock n roll…” love it! I saw this movie opening weekend, I was 9 years old
This is probably the best reaction I've seen to this iconic movie. You picked up on things really quickly. Looking forward to your reactions to the next two movies.
She’s gold! She cracks me up 😂🤣😂🤣 be genuine. It’s the key.
35:55 “did he just whack his car on?” Well better than whacking his car off!
So glad I wasn't the only to instantly have that thought 🤣🤣🤣
@@Jskew men of culture often think alike!
Seeing someone go through the same emotions never gets old. I cried even watching this reaction video. It's pure gold.
George decking Biff is the most satisfying punch in history!!
BTTF trilogy and Indiana Jones are also the two best movie trilogies of all time!
I like how you can see in Biff’s face, a split second before it happens that he suddenly realizes what’s coming.
@@asterix7842And can't quite believe what he's seeing, as nobody's ever successfully stood up to him before, least of all George McFly...
@@joehoy9242 Yes, I know those events are different. Also, her name is Lorraine not Elaine.
Nikki, you're husband is the luckiest man on earth!!! He shows you these movies you haven't seen yet and you love most of them! You're reactions are priceless and awesome!!!!! Can't wait to see more!!!!
One of the funnest and most involved reactions I have ever watched. Lorain took off his jeans trying to find the inflation tube for the his life vest. The third movie is my favorite. My wife and I were on vacation visiting family when this movie first came out and we took my cousin's teenage daughter to watch this movie, and we all Loved it.
"Sure, Jan." *thirsty*
This is one of the best reactions I've ever seen. She's so genuine.
Found your channel on my timeline.
Then I thought "what the Hell".
Clicked it, glad I did.
Your reaction was authentic, and heartfelt.
And you GOT the humor
Subbed.
Fun reaction.
Nikki! Fun Fact:Michael J. Fox Plays A Teenager Who Goes To 1955 In The DeLorean! The Reason They Used It Because It Was A Not So Reliable Car Plus Michael Played A Teenager In The Film But When He Made This Movie! He’s 21 Years Old! MIND BLOWN!!!
Great reaction to a great movie! Shout out to UA-cam's algorithm for recommending this video to me. Nikki's jovial nature and laughter made this a pleasure to watch!
And shout out to my dude for laughing along with Nikki while letting her shine as the star of the show! It's not easy to not interrupt!!
Keep up the good work you two!
This film stayed in theaters for something like 6 months. People kept coming back. Insane compared to today.
Subscribed because she's the only person I've ever seen cry tears of joy when Doc is alive.
(and had room for a tennis court in the back yard)
That's about the only large plot hole in this movie.
I'm imagining 20 years later, George is watching "Star Wars" and he's like "Why does that name Darth Vader sound so familiar?"
Your reactions are outrageously authentic! Your sense of humor is also tops. Great movie choices!
The most messed up thing is Doc made Marty stand in the path of the car and wasn't sure it would work.
(Heart of rock and roll)
Yes, Roger Rabbit is sort of a time travel (for the audience) movie, too.
10. The filmmakers said Biff was inspired by Trump ( this was years before he got involved in politics ). Most strongly seen in Part II.
6. That's because he completely misunderstood what was being said. It wasn't saying that money made them a better family, it was self-confidence that made them prosperous.
Bringing politics into this is beyond STUPID. because Trump wasn't even thinking about anything political. @@treetopjones737
Crispin, You're not the playwright , just the player. @@Tensen01
"It's how I feel listening to rock music"
Me too it's pretty great
"Did he just wack his car on" ..... Yes.. he did wack his car on.. but at least he didn't wack it off! lol ... sorry.. I had to!
Nice.
Billy Zane will always be the "hoedown, podunk, well them there motherfers!" demon to me!
Girl, just you wait. This is an amazing trilogy! You’re gonna love the next two, as well.
Doc is an evil cartoon bent on world domination in Rodger Rabbit, but us old people remember him best as Jim in the show TAXI.
"Doc told you to stay inside. Instead you invented a new kind of music, invented the skateboard and made out with your mom." Fucking hilarious. 😂
I love how Doc said he gonna send Marty back to the future and pointing his finger directly at the audience.
This was made when movies were actually original and well done.
"Did he just whack his car on..." OMG you're funny. In all my day's, I have never ever seen someone moved to tears by this movie. Loved it. Can't wait for you to see the next one.
There really was nothing like 80's adventure movies. Nobody makes anything like this anymore.
She is the first person I have seen to laugh every five minutes.
One of the greatest reactions to the BACK THE FUTURE ever! Hands downs you get the award for best first reaction!
#1 channel iIMO!!!
It's so fun watching your movie reactions!
Trivia - the guy at the beginning who tells Marty at his 'audition' that "it's too darn loud"....is Huey Lewis. 🤣
My mom still has a crush on Huey Lewis! lol!
My all time favorite movie. It has aged so well. Cant wait for your reaction on part2.

A fun reaction as always, you're a hoot, as I imagine one would say in 1955!
