its not that i dont understand the amount of hate ellies character gets n all but ill always hate when people talk down on how she must be out of the game n such, although in my opinion the show hasnt done well in portraying it, ellie's meant to be a morally grey character who like tess said, has lost her way (in the game) naturally, she does have better morals outside of the game, its the stakes and the feeling of needing to get that prize that gets to her head, allowing her to behave as ruthlessly as she does **IN GAME**

@@constantlycontemplatinglife I actually completely agree with this sentiment,
haha. In my opinion they totally underutilized Ellie’s potential. Especially in stark contrast of how we saw her in the back half of season 1. It’s really disappointing. But on a more positive note, I’m glad that they didn’t completely ruin Gabby and Ellie’s relationship in All Stars, even though it would have been so easy to do so with the direction they were taking her character.

@@froggynico ahh yess!! its really refreshing to find others with similar opinions, n i strongly agree as i really love gabelliee (as individuals n their pairing^^) i think it also somewhat assists with giving us a better understanding of her character (after the downfall of it near the end of season 1, making her out to be some vicious villain with only ill intents towards others rather than just a neutral) knowing she truly does value gabby and their relationship. nonetheless, i try to believe it isnt over for her and that it could only go uphill from here!!

Better morals? Like publically insulting everyone else for money and acting like everyone else should be celebrating when she appears afterwards? Acting entitled to the win to the point where she can do whatever she wants and believes it's ok but the moment she gets any pushback the other party is always in the wrong? Lying to her girlfriend till the very end about her VA and not even being able to pick Gabby over money? Or maybe you mean the way she victim blames Jake and uses his trauma for her own amusement? Yeah, truly just "morally grey" and not just a piece of garbage

personally I like doing deeper dives into characters, trying to see what **I** can take out of it n im also not a person who really dislikes any characters tbh, maybe just find some boring if ykw i meann. i cant remember which one of the writers said it but there was this one ep in allstars where ellie said something along the lines of jake being her 'source of entertainment' n i recall them saying that it was out of character for her as nothing inside the game is considered personal to her n more seen as strategic. considering the interviews are relating to people she chose not to build further connections with outside of the game (gabby aside), i dont think she feels any shame (anymore, which shifts her more towards being a villianous character) in saying whatever about any of them. looking at it like that, im almost entirely certain that she doesnt see anyones trauma as her amusement but rather useful information that can be used for strategy in the gamee. (of course without caring about how someone might feel) im not sure if you could tell but im not really defending ellie cause the things shes done for the sake of the game are pretty ykk 😭😭 im js saying she hasnt been proven to act in such a way outside of the game when it doesnt involve her previous season's contestants minus gabby and i hope the writers can try to fix up the inconsistencies they've left in her character. (using the motel episode maybe? cause in greetings we've been hearing about how she understands why tess chose to vote ellie out instead) if anything, season 3 has made me a little indifferent on her but i really want people (whether they like her or not) to understand that she's had some pretty odd writing flaws n inconsistencies as well as the fact that even if the writers didnt want to use her as a more relevant character this season, she could've gotten a better plott
