Thanks for making this video. You are right about the screen. It is a 720p screen, so in the display settings, when you set it to 90% (which is 1518 x 853) it makes it look better. I found it for $50 used on ebay.
As someone who took a gamble on getting a pinebook-pro 2 years ago, I completely agree that having a light weight device is great for in person classes especially if you're living at a dorm.
If anyone wants a slightly better full HD resolution and 64GB on board SSD storage, you don't want to get this one for $129 at Best Buy, you want this one: Acer 15.6" Model: CB315-3HT-C5D3 Price at the moment is about $169
Wait, I saw the 11.6" Lenovo and I liked it for portability. These chromebooks are a great accessory. You can remote access from these. They're fine when you need a no fuss cloudbased notebook that has a long battery life. I wish I had known this 315 was on sale a month ago. These are best as a gift for someone that won't pay any attention to security. My only thing is why do they skimp on the SSD storage? Just 64 GB ? Phones in the same price range come with 128GB. Reallly these Chromebooks function like your android phone. Oh, you can open like 30+ tabs on these Chromebooks. Yeah, the 11.6" ones, I can work on those easily. Don't knock the 11.6" at all. They're easier for portability. But the 15.6" is better if you need multiple windows open.
Hi steve, I just got a brand new Acer Chromebook 315 few days ago but it cant be set up. After connecting to an internet, I'm stuck at the page of "Determining device configuration". It keeps saying "No network available". I've used other network/wifi/Hotspot, its still the same thing. I tried to browse as a guest and its going perfectly. Which means there is an internet connection. I've done a restart, done a powerwash reset, but its still the same thing. It keeps bringing network not available... Have you heard anyone having similar issue.? How can you be of help pls.. kindly help me out. This one you are reviewing in your video is the exact Acer chromebook that i got
I bought one today just as a roll of the dice. If it is not worth using I can return it, so no real loss. hope it works well it would be a great tablet alternative when i need more screen space.
Sadly as of 2023 I don't see any students using laptops anymore. They're all about Ipads, sometimes with a keyboard, or they just use their phone. Some young lady told me at Walmart she was tired of laptops (especially) windows when she did reports, and she would lose them and she didn't like Chromebooks. So she was purchasing an Ipad. Not sure why a lot of people don't like Chromebooks or Windows laptops anymore. We now live in the touchscreen era I suppose. OH well.
Yeah Acer should stick to the Chromebook market since this is rated number one in their laptops. They do an excellent job, and these are way faster, quieter, coole and just better overall. Got mine for $169, does great, and these last WAY longer and have better security than any windows device on the market.
Yup, which really helped. Some of them have really small displays even if it's 1080p. 11 inches is too small. And they are still more expensive. I like the bigger display for sure.
The camera is good on it and it should be fine but know it's just a Chromebook so if you need Windows for those classes, it won't work. But if they can be done online, it should be fine!
would prob recommend an chromebook from teh Acer Spin series wich are 2 in 1 convertible laptops and most of them have good build quality, internals and great features for their price
I am a Apple user but the simple fact this Chromebook has Apple Music was enough for me to buy it why buy a Mac at that point $130 at wal mart today walked out
I bought the 314 from Best Buy for $170, it has a great 1080p Full HD Touch display, Acer is very confusing, they have a lot of hardware option in there 314, 315 line-up

The playbook man was the The playbook was a unique device man it was one of the Android's first generation system, the speed and the technology it had was the best........ P.S will it be fast and good if I take it to a religion class?. Hehehe..........
I love the tech you can get for cheap sometimes. Not a powerhouse but it's not supposed to be.

I got yhe 315, big screen does nice. Really like it. Build is solid. Got a case and power chord. Great for the price been wanting one.

I use a Chromebook as an entertainment laptop. Chromebook 315 is a very powerful laptop for grade schoolers.
