    You’ve got to be one of the best instructors out there, everyone speaks in tradition terms , yet u get right to the core of the issue, which is detrimental to the student 👌🙏👌

    Trust me this stuff helps a ton. The most frustrating feeling in the world is when you’re good singing progress dips into an ebb, and you just can’t seem to get your voice out. You’re not hurt, you’re just kinda stuck / doubting yourself / tense. All of Chris’s stuff helps quickly break you out of that and get back to the fun stuff. Exactly BECAUSE his content and methods are unconventional and feel-based.

    Chris you should do a breakdown of Jim Morrison’s singing. I’ve been getting into the doors recently and I’m amazed by Jim’s ability to express emotions.

    I just sang that line in a soft vibrato voice and I was surprised it sounded good and didn’t hurt my throat. Thank you. I’m in a recovery journey right now and this just made me cry. I’m so glad to have vocal coaches like you here to help! Thank you ❤

      SERIOUSLY.
      I've been watching the voice and there are several singers who have fantastic voices but just aren't getting that support right. Chris, you could make winners out of all those vocalists.

    Thank you Chris. The recommendation of focusing on pushing down like pooping and not worrying about the notes helped me.
    My neck is now lose, I sing with less effort, I use the pressure in my lower back/abdomen muscles to control. Thank you so much.

    Simply Red covered a song that was sung by Aretha Franklin which was called Angel. It’s very very hard to sing, and yes Mick Hucknall from Simply Red would be a great vocalist to analyse when it comes to breath support and using mixed voice in a very powerful way. Mick Hucknall is a very powerful and charismatic singer.

    Going back to this video hey! The last part is a bit like a revelation that’s amazing!
    It makes it easier to be aware of where the energy or tension is. It helped me notice that it all went back to my throat when signing softer notes and that’s why it felt very crappy. Thank you :D definitely doing this often also becaust it’s very fun and I’m all about that

    Ok now that I watched the entire video I'm even more hyped, all exercises were very useful, and the last one was actually eye opening. I'm practicing shifting the 'holding tension' from top to bottom and that's literally freeing my voice. I love these aha moments and you've been responsible for many of them through my singing journey. 😂

    Whenever I watch your videos I wonder why am I paying for a voice teacher or why am I not taking lessos from you lol I've been studying singing for barely a year but I think just not I'm getting the hang of breath support and thanks to this video I finally get it why I can't sing "softer" or higher. Specifically the thing about the voice crack and the enphatization on the UH vowel lighted my lightbulb. You really are a great singing teacher.

    hey chris, what’s the difference between reinforced falsetto and mixed voice? how can i tell when an artist used using one over the other? i know one way you can find if you’re in head voice or mixed is to slide all the way down a scale, and if you fall back into your chest voice you were in mix, but if your voice just starts to fade out then you were in head voice. but what about reinforced falsetto ?

    • @chrisliepe
      @chrisliepe  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Amali! This video might help clear things up as far as how I look at terms or voice classifications. I think the terms falsetto and head voice, and even mixed voice can be a bit limiting. check this video out for a better explanation! ua-cam.com/video/hCmeW_NWlHE/v-deo.html

    Hey Chris Liepe, at the moment im experimenting with my false chords to scream. I can really feel the difference between my false chords and my actual vocal chords. BUT HERE IS WHAT BOGGLES MY MIND: After my screaming training I can actually sing much better. My voice is suddenly much stronger and it sounds amazing. Can you please explain that to me?

    • @chrisliepe
      @chrisliepe  2 роки тому +4

      You’re becoming more self aware in the screaming has had the side effect of helping you feel out sensation aspects of your singing!!! So cool! This is quite common!

  • @quwane
    @quwane Рік тому +1

    if i'll use a small amount of support, will it be bad? then it would probably mean that im passing through the air more. so is it bad?
    is the only thing that can destroy the voice is using larynx too much?
    so in other words- whatever amount of support im using - it wouldn't destroy my voice, because it doesn't have anything to do with the larynx posture?

  • @nellycosneanu5212

    I sing all my notes flat how do i sing on key and the right notes? I measured the notes with this tiny device i was singing and it was all with a # behind it. So no D but D#.
    I noticed when I sing songs that are played on a standard tuning on guitar it sounds off, but when I sing alice in chains for example which is in d# it sound better. Is that because of the fact that I sing flat that it sounds better because it matches the sound of the guitars better? I am so confused. I sound great singing covers but horrible trying to sing my own stuff, it sounds like i’m not on key or too low and I don’t know why exactly.

    hey chris, so i've got a question now
    when I go for a really high note, (think the end of 3 libras by a perfect circle) I can't get the note cleanly, I tense up and stuff BUT I can roast it like if it was nothing
    what am I doing wrong?

    • @chrisliepe
      @chrisliepe  2 роки тому

      I'd have to work with you more closely to help you with your tension on attempting to cleanly hit higher notes. Hitting clean notes high is a product of a well developed head voice that you're able to ease into a supported mix. Have you considered joining my Discover Your Voice PLUS or PRO program? I'd be able to walk you through how to get there! You can head over to chrisliepe.com to request an invitation!
