Hi Lucy, I'm a Brit teaching English in Poland and almost all my students below C1 level reply 'Me too!' to both positive and negative statements. I always correct this when it is in response to a negative statement and in addition to 'Neither do I' I also suggest that they can use 'Nor do I'. You don't mention 'Nor' at all in this lesson so I would be very interested in your take on this. Thanks in advance.
Yes, about the 'nor'. I understand the rule that 'nor' is used after 'neither' in two negative clauses, where 'nor' is used as a conjunction. But I can't see why 'nor' can't be used on its own. 'Neither' is not a word that appeals to me. Have I've been making a gaffe all these years? Robert, uk
I think that Lucy is the best English teacher ı have ever had. so do I I do too Me too -I hadn't been able to grasp this subject until now. Me neither Neither had I I hadn't either
The first time I watched this video I didn't understand it, but the second time, it was easy to get it. It's just about following the structure with small changes depending on the sentence. Excellent video🫶🏻
Hey Lucy, could you please make a video about Cleft sentences because I really find them difficult your explanation makes it easy for me so that I will learn it more efficiently 🙏🙏 Please

‘Nor do I’ is also correct because it’s functioning as an adverb; not as a conjunction. 😊

Hello :) My response to your sentence: Me too. 🙂I have a question: Instead of "Neither do I" can we say, "Nor do I"? Thanks
I can think of an example when "Nor do I." could be used. Example: "I don't know her." "Nor do I."
