  • Since I discovered and shared the quality issues on my Louis Vuitton Nano Speedy in empreinte leather, many comments reached me, that you had discovered similar flaws on the LV Nano Speedy! Especially when we are talking about the poor quality of asymmetrically attached handles. This LV quality issue seems to occur more often and on the Monogram Canvas Nano Speedy aswell. In this video I want to share some of the comments I got, make you aware of that quality Issue on the Louis Vuitton Nano Speedy and share yet again some footage of my - yet returned - LV Nano Speedy in empreinte leather. A kinds of Louis Vuitton Nano Speedies seem to be affected by this issue. So better watch out!I

    I’m shocked that this happens so often. At the prices LV charges, they should never allow these issues to slip through quality control.

      I wonder, if LV really thinks, this is okay and they do not even consider it to be an issue? It at least seems like that, when so many people saw bags like that in the stores 😥

    For that price, it needs to be perfect. I would be worried that people think I am carrying a fake bag of there are such noticeable flaws. Every day I am so glad I have my older bags that are good quality. Thanks for sharing!

      Good point! Unfortunately I think these times, so fakes might be even better quality, than the real thing 🙈 it‘s a shame! I absolutely love my older high quality pieces aswell!

      I do agree Daniel! I never would have expected, that so many comments about the same issue would reach me! I thought I was just unlucky and got a bad bag - but unfortunately it seems to be more common 🙄

      The brand and quality really isn’t anymore, what it used to be. I‘m slowly loosing all my interest in purchasing anything new from LV 🙈

    I am someone who doesn’t think a bag has to be PERFECT and doesn’t mind small flaws, but I don’t think this handle issue is a small flaw. I would be very unhappy and would have also returned. Now going to check my Alma bb to see if I had missed a similar issue ☹️although I have had it a few years and it honestly doesn’t matter now. I have loved LV and esp vintage pieces, which is all I have bought recently. Seems I will stick with that for now.

      I checked my Alma bb today aswell, since someone commented, hers had that issue aswell 😭. Luckily my Alma is fine 👌 (I would have been quite surprised, if it wasn’t and I hadn’t noticed in years 😅). Hope yours is fine aswell! The older LV pieces really were so much better! Better prices and quality aswell!

    My husband purchased the momogram alma bb for me back in 2020 and one of the handles had this issue. I ended up selling the bag less than a year later. It seems to be an issue with the smaller bags.

    I have the speedy B20
    in monogram and checked the handles and the rest of my bag for quality issues and my bag is in perfect condition I hate that we have to constantly check over our bags because of poor quality but the prices keep going up 😑

    I am a avid speedy collector and now I also like to collect the Keepall XS which also have similar handles.I have to say half of my collection of speedy bags, began my collection in the year 2000, purchased brand new do look like this. This is because the rolled handles are shaped like a "U". When the handles are being attached to the square metal ring, the artisan have to bend the handles. Sometimes the handles are not bent exactly at the center or not bent enough so when new out of the box it looks the handle is leaning to the left or to the right. But when you start using it and carry it by the handles, the square rings and handle will self correct to the center and lay flat. You can also fix it by bending the handle closer together.

      Makes sense to some degree but if the initial assembly isn’t done properly, I don’t see how it will adjust with use. I also shouldn’t have to walk around with an obvious crooked handle waiting for it to relax and adjust and that is if it eventually does. My first Nano Speedy’s handle was so crooked, I don’t think anything would’ve made it better. I think I need to just stay away from LV. They obviously don’t care about how their products are coming out. When I get to the point that I literally cringe and pray while I’m unboxing my item hoping that I get a piece with no obvious flaw, it is time to look elsewhere.

    I have ordered nano blue lagoon right after watching your review, I think I got lucky because the bag is almost perfect, except for - yes, one side of one handle is not laying down flat like the others, but the difference is barely visible, maybe 2-3 mms. Shortly after I ordered, LV increased the price by 100 eur. So all in all I decided to keep the bag, but I do agree, this is totally unacceptable to sell such pricey and "luxury" items which are not living up 100% to clients expectations.

    Oh no!! Definitely don’t accept the wonky handles. They make the bag look like they came from Kmart. Nothing wrong with Kmart, but they are priced accordingly ❤

      Yep, for a 50% discount, I might have kept that bag (eventhough 🤔 the price would still be crazy, for a crooked handle bag 😅🙈)

    Great vid! I own the nano speedy in mono and really enjoy it! I think it's in great condition.. but I'll have to look it over! It's really bothersome how LV sends out so many flawed bags! I ordered the pochette metis east west and the inner flap had horrible bumps! I could also tell someone had used it and brought it back as a "return"! There were literally CRUMBS in the bag 😳 the plastic was hanging off the hardware and the stickers were bent! My SA ordered another one and looked over it .. she sent me pics... it looks perfect... but the entire process of getting this bag has taken 3 weeks! 😒 LV sales associates need to look over the bags thoroughly before sending out! Also, the people working in the warehouse need to do the same thing! These bags are expensive and we deserve to get EXACTLY what we pay for ... It can be like pulling teeth to get a normal bag that we deserve 😣

      Thank you Meg! I‘m sure your Nano Speedy is perfect, otherwise you sure would have already noticed it! Woha, your Pochette Metis East West experience sounds bad 😳 no surprise then, if the customer service suspects people to wear and return bags. But the solution to that problem should be: to actually check the items, that get returned! They should not hand them out to other people, without carefully checking them beforehand 😕

      @LuMi LevelUp I couldn't agree more love! The fact that they send bags that are obviously defective or a piece has obviously been used 😒 is simply unacceptable! I might just write a letter to LV Corporate! I pre ordered the mini bumbag, and it'll arrive this Thursday.. yay! 🥳 but I'm really hoping it's perfect (as it should be!) If all is well, I'll be able to finally start filming again 🥰 the pochette metis east west will arrive on Thursday too! At least I know that one is perfect 😍 it's a shame that we have to worry about being given defective bags. It takes the fun out of it. I think I'm gonna write that letter 🙈😒😒

    It's not just the speedy. I discovered the same crooked handle issue with my Onthego tote PM. I've had it for a year now and it's a limited edition bag, so I'm pretty much stuck with it that way.

    While I´m perfectly fine with accepting small defects and "battle scars" on preloved bags as long as they are reflected by the price, I think that a brand new bag at full price has to be flawless. Shame on LV for selling flawed bags!

      Same! I don’t mind, if a preloved bag has some signs of use - but when I spend regular retail on a brandnew luxury bag, I want it to be perfect (and wonky handles definitely shouldn’t happen - I would not like that on a preloved bag either!)

    I experienced the similar handle issues on my monogram nano speedy , which i couldnt unsee and accept it. Only managed to get the right piece on my 3rd purchase. Its the worst shopping experience ever. I realised a lot of low end bags are more well made!
    I owned speedy 20, no issue on the handles alignment. But the monogram print alignment instead which i found out after 6 months of usage later 🤦‍♂️

    The canvas on my monogram nano speedy melted while I was wearing it in Vegas. I went back to the store I got it from and they refused to do anything for me. I tried again at a different LV and the SA agreed the material felt different on the canvas. She offered to replace or give me a store credit.

    I think my keepall has crookedish handles but i didnt care tbh. For me once I had enough bags i kinda stopped caring as much. Each bag will have a little something so i was like whatever. But it wasnt to noticeable anyway. But thats good to know thats its a lv problem in general.

      I feel like I became even more paranoid and meticulous 🙈 - the prices went up so much in recent year, I want the quality to match (and not be way worse, than back in the days, when an LV Speedy was just 500€ brandnew at the boutique) 🙈

    I was sent a nano speedy video when I wanted to buy via phone. It literally has the same problem. One side it wouldn’t lay down evenly

    I feel that the quality is getting worse and worse. They are just pumping out product and raising prices while the quality is going down. But why would LV care unless they were loosing money. It’s all about the bottom line. Same thing with Chanel. I tried purchasing my first LV a year ago… I went through four different bags and ALL had issues. I got frustrated because I wasn’t getting the luxury experience and couldn’t understand how I could get better quality at Coach. I threw in the towel at trying to get those LV bags and will only purchase pre-loved if I really wanted it.

    I get that not all will be perfect and without a flaw. Nothing is perfect including ourselves and we all have flaws but some things are just inexcusable. My first Nano Speedy’s handle was so crooked, I don’t think anything would’ve made it better unless it was completely redone. My issue is how they thought it was acceptable. When I returned it, they just put it right back into inventory and it will remain there until someone will accept it as is. I think I need to just stay away from LV. They obviously don’t care about how their products are coming out. When I get to the point that I literally cringe and pray while I’m unboxing my item hoping that I get a piece with no obvious flaw, it is time to look elsewhere.

      Thank you for sharing your experience Monica, I feel exactly the same! Due to quality issues I experienced at LV in the past, I hadn’t purchased anything in quite a while - until that empreinte leather Nano Speedy: and it has been a disappointment yet again.
      I hate the feeling, that I have nowadays, when unboxing an order from LV and having to inspect the item, to even make sure, it’s ok… that shouldn’t be the case at that luxury price point 😕 - LV was my first luxury love, but it might be time, to move on 💔

      @@LuMiLevelUp SO TRUE! I just received the NeoNoe BB in monogram and to my disappointment, I’m having to return it due to improper stitching. I love the bag so I reordered it but once again, I’m cringing at the thought that I’ll receive another unacceptable item. That shouldn’t be the case. I’ve relocated and no longer live in NYC so now I have to do all my purchasing online and return via UPS so I can no longer purchase at the boutique and see what I’m purchasing. I agree totally that we shouldn’t have to be inspecting their items for quality issues. I will add that my particular bag was made in the USA and I’ve noticed that most of my items with defects were manufactured in the USA. I’m not sure if it is due to lack of experience but someone needs to be overseeing and inspecting the products that are being released wherever they’re being made. It is inexcusable!

      @@monicae67 most of my bags (aswell as the disappointing pieces, that I returned), are/were made in France - so it seems like the quality declined all around the world 🙈.
      I don’t live close to a boutique either, so I usually have to order online (unless I‘m traveling or visiting a bigger city - but that usually doesn’t match the time of new releases 😁)

      @@LuMiLevelUp I agree, manufacturing defects are not limited to factories in the USA but most of my returns due to quality issues were manufactured in the USA. I’m not at all implying that France pieces don’t have defects because they do too but France pieces are definitely made better for sure. Oddly I even noticed a difference in the canvas and hardware. Again, maybe they’re less experienced in the USA factories? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I preferred going to the boutique because I left the boutique pleased with my purchase. Plus, if they have a few, I can choose which one I like more. Living in NYC, I had many boutiques to choose from. Now, not one for 100 miles! 😢
