- in this tutorial we are going to take a look at how to save and load backups. Using backups is the most important thing when using a PA5X. Because all your hard work can be lost if you load things from the internet or when you make mistakes deleting things. It's also really convenient to have backups when you are going to experiment with the features on the pa5x. This way you can always revert back to the pa5x you had when creating the backup.
And this is important, because in the next tutorials we are going to take a look at sampling features, creating sounds with samples and lots of other things. And for these tutorials you want to experiment a lot, and in such a cases you can undo your tests in a really easy way.
This tutorial will show you how to create backups, load backups, but also how to restore certain parts or even one sound or style from a backup.

Thanks! i was looking for a good explanation and found finally your video!
All others believe we know how to use the PA5X :-) No, we don't. That's why people are looking for good explanations.
You helped me a lot!
Man jij steekt er echt tijd in om ons bij te scholen, wordt zeer gewaardeerd!
Que, great piano at the very beginning of this video. Can you make a tutorial on how to create it? 😊
Dit was echt "mijn probleem" dat ik moest leren te beheren wanneer ik mijn Korg kocht. In vergelijking met andere keyboards (en anderen) is de werking van Korg heel verschillend, zeker met de voorganger(s) van de Pa5x. Prima uitleg, waarvoor dank !
Thank you Qui again
this is a great tutorial! thank you Qui!
Great explanation again Qui, superb. A tip for the naming of the backup files: use format yyyymmdd in the beginning of the file name. The system shows the files in alphabetic order. With this format you can see in one glance which one is the latest version. Keep up the good work & thanks!
great tip !!!
I used a new memory stick and formatted it. I then used yyyymmdd, but it failed many times. Then I used ddmmyyyy on the backup and then all was backed up correctly on first try. I do not know if it has something to do, but at least when I changed date format it was ok. Just for your information.
Geweldige uitleg weer Qui zeer top gebracht. jou zullen ze moeten aannemen bij Korg
Thank you for your Video. Question: Where can i find the Set Lists in the Backup? How can I Backup a crashed Set List?
Is it possible to copy individual items from y PA1000 songbook and import into the PA5X? I just ordered a Pa5X and this is going to be my first challenge....
Is it possible to export track outs? For example if i want to export 4-8 bar loop as stems and use it in my DAW on another project, is this possible? Or it only allows you to export as wav or mp3
When the CPU is faster why does it take so long to save? I don't get that one? logically thinking if you press replace all, maybe it will only write the new stuff and take less time to save? anyhow I also THANK YOU for the tutorial :)
could you please make a tuto of how we can create pads with a daw and then import them to PA5x
thank you in advance
do you mean, creating a pad in a synth in the daw, sampling that and then transfering that to the pa5x? if the answer is yes then yes, this is scheduled for one of my sampling tutorials
Please: I have a little problems with the backups on my memory stick. Its formatted in Pa5x. I am following the procedure and gets this:
Warning pop ut on the screen saying: "Device not found, or unknown format"
It copies "Style", "Pad" and stops at "Keyboardsets"
(My previous backup was successful when i changed date format from yyyymmdd to ddmmyyyy, but seems that this had nothing to say)
Any advice appreciated ! Thank you !
that sounds like a broken usb stick. I would change it as soon as possible. I use sandisk usb sticks, those are reliable from my experience
Hoe zit het met een back up maken van de SET LIST
Setlist is onderdeel van je songbook, dus als je daar een backup van maakt dan heb je de setlists ook
So that piano pad sound at the end isn’t a preset?
No, that is one of the sounds I created for my own sound set library
@@quirobinez well if I get this keyboard in the future,I’m gonna have to have sound, great job
@@robertmichalscheck3072 for now I have no plans releasing sounds or styles for the pa5x. I've stopped with this last year when people started sharing the sound sets on torrent sites, which makes it not worth the time to make market ready because once your sound set is on a torrent site, then the sales and downloads from my official site went to zero immediately. So instead spending hundreds of hours making sounds market ready I spent that time now on tutorials for several synths and keyboards.
@@quirobinez I don’t know what a torrent site is?I’m an older guy,I wouldn’t try to screw you in anyway if you if you were to help me
Did you get those sounds off the korg pa5x?
