Godzilla Minus One, based on the analysis of the teaser footage and comparisons to other Godzilla designs, is estimated to be around ??? feet or ?? meters tall. The size assessment is based on the height of buildings relative to Godzilla's body parts seen in the footage. In terms of body design, Minus One has a bumpy and rough skin texture with prominent osteoderms and scales resembling barnacles. The coloration is more brownish, deviating from the usual blackish-grey with bluish tones. The dorsal spines are similar to the Heisei design but with sharper tips and more prominent divisions.
Compared to other Godzilla versions, Minus One is significantly smaller. It stands at approximately half the height of the MonsterVerse Godzilla from Godzilla vs. Kong, which is around 120 meters tall. It is also similar in height to Shin Godzilla, who measures 119 meters. In comparison to Godzilla from Godzilla Singular Point, which has a height of 100 meters, Minus One is shorter by 40 meters. When compared to the original 1954 Godzilla, Minus One is taller, standing at 50 meters or 164 feet, which is 10 meters or 33 feet taller. In the Heisei era, Godzilla's height ranged from 80 to 100 meters, so Minus One would be 20 to 40 meters shorter. Lastly, Minus One is roughly the same size as the Millennium versions, which were around 55 to 60 meters tall.
Him being shrunk a bit makes sense with it being a period piece. The reason the monster kept getting bigger was because Japanese cities kept getting bigger. 60 meter is more than enough to tower over any building in 1940s Japan
This. It'd be ridiculous for a 400ft kaiju to be walking around a city whose tallest building until 1964 was the 215ft tall National Diet Building.
It's cool he was only able to destroy half the ~70ft Ginza Wako building (shown at 3:14).
Not a bit, they made him tiny, but I like a smaller version of Godzilla, makes it more terrifying
Ultraman is at least 53m
He definitely looks much smaller than Shin and Legendary. Im glad they stopped trying to one-up his size like they have over the past couple films
It has to do with the narrative. In Shin and Legendary they're trying to make some sort of eldrich god that's beyond humans. In this film they want him to be more of a personal threat to humans. I can't imagine either Shin or Legendary caring about people in general while this one attacks a train full of people in anger.
@@vashsunglassesYeah good point. Legendary and Shin would only bother to do that if somebody was shooting from it.
@@vashsunglassesIt's probably also a time period/location thing. A Godzilla in a modern day giant city needs to be bigger. Otherwise he'd look small amongst the massive skyscrapers.
@@goji253 minus one is stated to be 156 meters
@@Fold-103do you have a source for that?
Being a reboot that takes place after World War II, it was expected that the size of Godzilla would be closer to that of the original film than to that of the most recent films.
By the way thanks for the info.
I think It is more of a prequel to the original, so he should either be slightly smaller or the same size
@@shadowanderson2004it’ll be a standalone, rather than a prequel.
@@shadowanderson2004 Pretty sure it's a remake. There are no other Goji's before or after him in this universe
Since it's taking place somewhere close to 1946 or so I'm guessing the American military would be fighting him with WW2 style planes and maybe early jets. Maybe an Iowa class battleship will make an appearance, Legendary Godzilla took a broadside with little problem maybe this one gets hurt. You know the Americans will be eager to nuke him on Japanese soil.
In this postwar setting, it will be the occupying US military trying to hopelessly take on Godzilla lol.
Maybe his size is more scary than we know😅
50-60meters tall fr
Hopefully
MY ASS is scarier then GODZILLA
ANOTHER GODZILLA COMING SOON?!
@@justindelrosario7423y guy watched a video talking about minus one goji and asks “ *ANOTHER GODZILLA?* “
I think the shorter design is so he can actually interact with things on the ground with his head imagine a 400ft godzilla trying to bend over to bite a train
so excited for this and hope it can come out in Imax to really appreciate all the lovely work the artists have done. Can't wait to see more!
YESSSSS THIS IS WORTH AN IMAX WATCH
Agreed
Godzilla minus one looks like Legendary Godzilla if we look at his spikes and how big his legs are. He's like a combination of the Original Godzilla with some Heisei and Legendary Godzilla influence.
Yep
He's huge looks frightened and able to smack down buildings
This might be the best Godzilla has ever looked, the Legendary design is too streamlined and sleek, Shin Godzilla looked really good but I can see how that'd be a bit much for some people, but this is just perfect. It's a perfect modernisation of Godzilla's design, everything from the proportions, to the texturing, to the face is spot on, even those ridiculously big dorsal spines work really well. I've got high hopes for this film. He also looks very aware, there's sentience in his eyes, it'll be interesting to see how the film deals with that.
How are you going to call this design “well proportioned”, only to say 2 seconds later that the spine are (and indeed they are) ridiculously big 😅 To me, this design is Mid.
I also wasn’t a fan of Shin’s edgy “Thingzilla” look. Legendary’s design is mostly pretty good to me, although I think the tail on the ‘19-‘21 versions is too short. They should’ve kept the ‘14 design’s longer and more whiplike tail
@@codyerickson3550 because they are ridiculously big, compared to other Godzilla designs, they're huge. By well proportioned I was referring to his torso, head, legs, arms, tail, etc, the big dorsal fins actually break that mold in a way that I think stands out and looks good, and they're not disproportionately large, they're just bigger than usual.
The Shin Godzilla design was unique take on the character that I personally appreciated. To me Godzilla is meant to grotesque and imposing, and display complete indifference to those afflicted by the destruction he causes, Shin Godzilla embodied that perfectly, and Godzilla Minus One seems to tick all those boxes from what I've seen too.
The legendary Godzilla just isn't it for me, he's too sleek and looks like a cow or pig in his face, to me Godzilla's face should be reptilian but somewhat feline. Also the way Legendary Godzilla interacts with humans so personally, I just don't like it, it'd be like if humans made eye contact with ants and displayed empathy towards them, it just doesn't happen because they're too small compared to us.
It all comes down to personal preference, and Legendary Godzilla just isn't what I look for in a Godzilla design, and the Shin and Minus One designs are much more to my taste, and better fit what Godzilla represents to me. It's a simple case of opinion.
Fully agree. This one looks sturdy and strong, rugged hide looks invincible. The power in his jaws and thighs, all while looking like the Showa and Heisei versions combined with modernity.
This is the culmination of nearly 40 films of trial-and-error, really ticks all the boxes.
The problem with the Legendary Monster-verse Godzilla is his miniature head. It looks ridiculous.
@@stormacron3646 It’s only small on the 19-21 designs. And even then I only think it looks that way because they made his spines larger and his body a tid bit more muscular.
The 2014 design in the other hand has a relatively more proportional head size. Overall I feel like ‘14 is the best Godzilla design: It’s pretty much exactly what he’d look like if he was a real creature that existed in our world. Out of the Toho designs it’s a very difficult toss up between GhidoGoji, 84Goji, and KiryuGoji for me as far as which ones look the best.
I like it a lot. It looks like a more aggressive version of the Legendary Godzilla.
i agree
He looks like a mix of heisei and legendary godzilla
Man -1 Godzilla really gives me Heisei and Millenium Vibes with a bit of Legendary. It’s like they made Heisei once more but with CGI and it looks amazing!
With -1 Goji's dorsal plates, I'm kinda getting a bit of a MireGoji vibe from them, given how pointy they are, though I'm not sure if they look quite as crazy stylish looking as the Millennium plates could get, but I do really like the look a lot. I do think its face has a good mix of Legendary and Heisei, and its easily better than the more recent Japanese Signal Point design.
So in other words, this Godzilla is going back to its roots and I'm all for it!
The original Godzilla in 1954 was 50 m tall, with Minus One being basically a remake of that film, its a good choice for Minus One Godzilla to be similar size.
Yes, in the Movie they said he weight 20.000 tons. When we compare it with the 100.000 tons from a 100m Goji we get ~60meters.
I love the back spikes. They look like they're literally exploding out of it.
It's from his backbone
This incarnation reminds me of what TOHO tried to do with Godzilla 2000. The dorsal plates are massive and his stature is one that would invoke fear. As for his teeth, that reminds me of Godzilla Returns 1984... and I like that. The eyes look more dinosaur-ish. He looks like a mutated dinosaur which is what he originally was meant to be. In my opinion, the design incorporates elements from every version. I was not a fan of Shin Gojira, because it went away from what the original intended. This new one has peaked my interest and I will go see it.
well In my opinion & theory, If Godzilla minus one is around 60 meters tall, he kinda the same height as the GMK Godzilla from 2001, and not sure if y'all see this yet, but I would say that GMK & Minus One have some huge parallels from each other,
if you think about it, GMK is based on the victims of fallen people of Japan who seek revenge & is also very power & destructive. the same thing can be told to minus one, but more modern & kind of the early bird, in this case
im excited for the movie since its gonna have a similiar theme to shin and the 1954 film. the only problem i really have is the design, i really hoped for something that looked more like the 1954 one with the ears and weird eyes, since this one look more like the heisei design because (to me at least) doesnt feel as intimidating as those 2 i mentioned, the spikes are cool tho.
Design is awesome. To me he looks more like Heisai in the face and upper body. Shins slander and lower body areas and color and large dorsal plates like Millennia.
This design is BADASS. Love it
This Godzilla Look so good. I think he is the strongest Godzilla ever seen. Love your video!
I like this design. Kinda a mix of Legendary, Millenium and Shin Godzilla.
I like the smaller size. I guess the extremes that we see in monster verse or Shin aren’t necessary since Tokyo’s buildings aren’t as high in the 40’s
Yeah, the smaller size means more meaningful interactions with the environment.
That’s way better than being obnoxiously large and just trampling absolutely everything with zero interaction.
If he was at that height I won’t mind it
The reason why Heisei Godzilla was 80-100 meters is because at that time in the 80s, buildings were getting taller in Japan. 50 meter Godzilla would be smaller in comparison.
To fix that, they boost his height to compete the tall new buildings
@thegiftedfire3470 most are 200m but the tallest yet is skytree if he is 120m
“Won’t be as fat as 2014 Godzilla.” You didn’t have to my boi dirty like that 😭
It makes sense to keep Godzilla at 50-60 meters. The films always try to create interactions between humans and the kaiju and it doesn’t work well when they’re over 100 meters tall.
I'd say 60m
I've got a solution, make the humans bigger
@91722854 we not that big the only way is Ultraman if they are real
For me, anything between 7-15 feet tall is just an uncanny, terrifying hight, anything above just becomes a action monster movie like Godzilla… until shin Godzilla came out, when they managed to make Godzilla scary again. Opposite of the legendary trilogy where they were aiming for action. Hopefully they get the same haunting feeling from Minus 1
Legendary 2014 was going for it, but until it was ruined during 2019 and 2021 because of the choice of directors
@@CattusTheDevourer i kinda wish gareth edwards had directed kotm and gvk, i wonder what his version of those movies would have been like
@dagon1523 especially King Ghidora, the dragons presence was already terrifying enough, but add Edward's cinematography, sound design and tone King Ghidora would be really terrifying
Wow godzilla has his classic look but modern look. That classic dorsals. I like it
In really love the minus one Godzilla over Legendary’s Godzilla design. He looks more menacing and intimidating. I'm excited to watch this In December.
I think his size was actually 46m in height. Either way, close to the original.
is it confirmed?
@@kristian9014 i dunno, but seems reasonable enough. I mean, when you make the image, where you can see godzilla stomping towards all the people smaller and put the full body design next to it (so that the feet match), you can simply compare the height of an average person to godzilla. way more easy than this complicated calculation. And like I said, 46m seems to fit better than 60m.
50 mts
It's probably closer to 50-55m, The height of the original 1954 Godzilla
It may be 50m, but what if he’s able to grow during the movie? 😳
I love how they made him look so angry and vengeful, such an epic design
I’m going to watch godzilla minus one in the movie theatre and I’m so excited!
1:55 Not wolf of walstreet, but rather "once upon a time in Hollywood" ...
I hope he turns out to be larger
600ft 🧍🏿♂️
@@CattusTheDevourerbro, that's between Monsterverse and Anime Godzilla. This is supposed to be a reboot of the original, which was 160 feet tall.
I think his size is fine for a godzilla set in the 1940s, Godzilla's size mostly matters when compared to architecture height of the period of the weaponry.
A 100m Godzilla is so extremely overkill compared to 1940s Japan
Whereas 110m is more reasonable when thrown into 2020s Japamln
Why?
I don't mind them going smaller with Godzilla's size one bit. I always thought the original Godzilla was plenty big enough.
I always thought he was 400 feet tall because I think an old VHS(Showa era) I got as a kid had him that size in the description in the back. Didn't realize he was always much smaller until his official size in the Monsterverse was revealed as around 400 feet and UA-cam made it clear it was the biggest Godzilla besides Earth. 400 Feet Tall Godzilla for life.
i love those classic looking scale in the back its spike out like the original.
He looks like a evil version of Godzilla from the Godzilla ride
Long Time No See Japanese Godzilla live action movie finally King is Back
NEW Chonky Godzilla looks cute, All love dawg
He’s adorable 🥺
The nostril placement and broad grin also screams Showa.
For some reason i find smaller godzillas scarier
Great video!
❤will the brand new Godzilla Figures come over to the uk Please!? From British Godzilla fan!
"And he won't be FAT like...(legendary/monsterverse)...2014." 🤣. 'cough, cough' -splutter-. You made me laugh and cola came out my nose.
“A wolf of the wall street pointing moment” “so, talking about the devil” 😂😂 bruh
He's like OG size and it's somehow still fucking terrifying
It would be a funny joke setting this movie as a prequel counterpart for singular point
0:00 I love this channel
My real name is Emanuele
That pointing scene with Leo was from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, not Wolf of Wall Street.
🎶 Up from the depths, 60 meters high. Breathing fire, his head in the sky! Godzilla! Godzilla! Godzilla! *GODZILLA!* 🎶
Can't wait to see the Official Trailer of only 2 minutes long it's enough for me! 👀🔥
Well done !!!
This Godzilla is really scary to look at. Something about his beady eyes is very terrifying, also he always looks like he is angry.
He may be small but his atomic breath and abilities makes him the best and strongest godzilla ever ❤️ 😊
Bro I love this design
I believe that Minus One is that Godzilla at the end of Godzilla vs. Destroyah. When Godzilla Jr. revives.
good vid
A good analisis
Size doesn’t matter 😆 it’s all about how powerfull and durable Godzilla is! Will he cry and die over missiles strike?
people saying things like “hope his size would be bigger and scarier” like a 60 meters tall radioactive lizard stomping around wouldn’t be absolutely terrifying to see… making him bigger would be unnecessary
looking at shin which is in the modern era with sky scrapers, he would have things to scale to
in the ancient era set before the og 54 gojira, making him hundreds of meters tall would make him too big to interact with anything
shin is a walking calamity, destroying everything around it just by existing. it’s suitable for shin to be that size as it was a looming calamity and doesn’t need to interact with stuff
-1 is going to interact with its environment, intentionally attacking trains, buildings, people… if they double his size to the point where the average building in that era is at his ankle he would just walk around like shin as he wouldn’t have anything else to do… which isn’t a bad thing for shin, but is not suitable for what -1 is.
which is a living, angry beast
The head to train scaling seems off, his head seems to be quite a bit bigger than this estimate.
My partner and I debating which Godzilla has the bigger Spines (Proportional to his body) I say Minus One because he has multiple spines that are twice the size of his head. They say Godzilla 2000/Millenium because he has that one massive dorsal plate and they posit that the others around it must be massive as well even if they’re a bit smaller. Our metric for measuring was the size of the head compared to the dorsal plates since we don’t have any office sizes on them.
I think this is gonna be the best estimate for his size we are gonna get until his official stats are released but I actually checked the math and it adds up.
You forgot Planet Eater Godzilla which is 300m/984feet tall.
I like how he looks like a mix between toho and legendary godzilla
Remember Kong's head. It was not much larger than the head of this Godzilla, but he is not 60 meters, but 103. It is possible that his height is more than 60 meters, but 60 meters is also possible due to the fact that this is a kind of remake of the original
This design is sick
I've always thought that Godzilla should be as tall as the empire state building ; while king kong had to climb it...
I hope minus one will have more godzilla and less politicians talking about instead of actually seeing him.
Is this a continuation of shin or another adaptation
I am very excited for this movie. I'm glad to have a rough idea of how big he is now
MonsterVerse Godzilla isn't fat. He's rather a bulky and muscle.
he’s big boned
@@jico5147I agree with you
@@iandanielcassidy8126how does he have muscle and also he is a fat look at his weight
HE looks Fat and ripped tho no grievances
He is pretty much the Heisei and Monsterverse version with a little bit of the original
That design is an ABSOLUTE W in regards to Godzilla design.
I LOVE Legendary’s Godzilla but I don’t flat out love his design. It grew on me but I hated it at first.
But this design looks A+ out of the gate. Wow.
And look its not a competition between the the western and eastern versions. I just want fun films from both.
I always hated that the recent Godzilla’s feet looked like elephant feet. This new Godzilla’s feet fits him.
4:23 he is very similar to the original Godzilla of the 1954
Wasn't that scene of Leonardo DiCaprio from "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".?.
I have to say just amazing 🤩
I am hyped for this new Godzilla movie.
Very excited for the story and the time period, but I just don’t know about this design..
As weird as Shin Godzilla looked, I thought that looked much better in action than this does here.
Soooo, is Minus one Godzilla a different Godzilla from king Of Monster Godzilla? Or are they related? Help😄
What does the Minus One mean?
seeing the side by side you said the 2014 Godzilla was fat but it does not look fat at all but minus one Godzilla has some pretty big thunder thighs
Toho realesed a full body picture
1954 Godzilla stood 50 meters tall, and Second Showa Godzilla stood 50 meters tall.
In a nutshell this was original godzilla (dinosaur based) vs shin godzilla (nuclear origin based) and it can led to shin godzilla vs -1 godzilla
Godzilla as metaphor. What does he represent in the different interpretations?
I wish Legendary's Godzilla looked like this one... The face, midsection, and legs are all wrong on the LegendGoji, and the tail is a bit off, too.
why the godzilla minus one lookin like he smilin lol 0:42
⚠️⚠️ Important :
Hello, who can tell me what is the intro music of these videos, thank you? It's because I like her. THANKS
You said wolf of Wall Street but the pointing scene is from once upon a time in Hollywood 😅
Can’t wait
Shin does not look like Godzilla. This looks like Godzilla. The Godzilla we all know & love
Shin is badass
Why is it called minus 1? Just curious
Minus Godzilla vs Monsterverse Godzilla.
Fight!
Minus stomps his way to Monsterverse Godzilla. Looks up at him and roars.
Monsterverse Godzilla: "Who's kid is this?"
We have no clue what the real stats are for minus Goji, so for all we know like heisei he could clown MV goji.
Or your statement could end up being accurate 😂
Dude there are no skyscraper in this movie it takes place in 1945 he's small and still doesn't have show it's stats
And his movie will get a sequel
@@hadijahabutazil9132yeah it been confirmed by the creator and maybe in the sequel GojiMinus will fight Anguirus just like sequel to old Gojira.
“More evil” “bring back horror elements” dude did you watch shin Godzilla ha
Shin more like that Godzilla is been misunderstood by humans.
Shin isn’t even evil, he wants to die but his own body just controls him as Shin is suffering a lot
I like smaller Godzillas
I swear they used the same design from the 2007 short film
This godzilla looks like all the godzilla in one It can be a other gorjia 1954 or a godzilla that was sleeping in the ground then got awkaned by the war also when it walks the floor breaks so it can be bigger then 60 meters
this Godzilla Design (in My Opinion) is a mixture between the Millennium, Heisei, And Shin Godzilla designs
They should have made him much more taller
there are no skyscrapers in 1947 because he would easily demolish everything if hes size was same as legendary shin heisei and others
Bro I’m a Godzilla fan but when the hell was this being talked about? All I know of is the teaser of the new GxK 😭😭
