A great example of Lennon being underrated. He's on-point with this and shows more versatility than he gets credit for. Near perfect playing
I have the slide and cord! The guitar - Hofner 5140 Hawaiian Standard lap steel was found & sold last year but the buyer didn’t want the accessories- John in Get Back discusses the cord length with Magic Alex and requests a longer one be made for The Rooftop Concert (seen on a chair next to Ringo) but ultimately wasn’t used in the final concert - beautiful sound - looking for a 1967 Hofner lap steel currently at the moment to complete the original Lennon owned accessories I have but all searches result in “Sold Out”! Beautiful use of this guitar on this Harrison fav of mine!! For You Blue! Immaculate! ❤ thanks for sharing
I never thought about it until now, how the tempo is similar to Old Brown Shoe. One can easily transition from one to the other.
The take featured in Get Back, John says that[s the one, it wont get any better. He's right its the one they used
1:23 "yeah!"
This finally clearly illustrates that John is playing the bass notes in the turnaround on the lap steel. Always wondered where that came from.
0:59 parece leslie, buena foto ;)
0:47 John's Guitar Solo (Go! Johnny Go!)
fine
👍
Elmore James got nothing on this!
Why didn't you upload the For You Blue tracks into one video?

He was Brazilian and unfortunately passed a few years ago...
lol wow
What is the lap steel tuned to?
D A D F# C D. D7 chord, essentially.
i always thought it was George using a slide
No that's why you hear George say to John Lennon go Johnny go on the original version. 🎸🎸🎸
you can see lennon playing the lap steel during let it be movie ;)
@@DLD2Music That's correct. Saw let it be at the theater in 1970.
Not till his solo stuff.
George’s slide playing has a lot of finesse because he learned sitar. So he had a great ear for the kind of quick pitch fluctuations used in blues slide. He was quite precise as a slide player, as a result. But John here sounds like a drunk man made of rubber bands; the pitch is all over the place (it sounds great!!!). It’s fantastic but it doesn’t sound anything like where George went with slide guitar even a few months later, on Abbey Road.
1 take?
Album take
Yeah they didn’t do any overdubs or punch ins on this album.
