I kind of wish I lived in Arkansas so I could attend Berean Bible Church in person. I’m in Utah and believe me, preterism is a foreign concept out here. Maybe some day I’ll find a physical church home.
@JS4601 I'm in Utah too. Left the dominant church of the area 5 years ago. It's rough, but I found Berean BC in 2022. So happy and so in love with the Word. My church is online for now, and I'm ok with that. Please know that you're not alone out here!
i was thrilled to see this video pop up. Ive been subscribed to Travis's channel for awhile now. after having subscribed for a few months, my younger brother sent me a link to his channel. i let my brother know that im so preterist that discovering travis for me had already happened in the past. we had a good laugh but i remember thinking "where did this guy come from. he's really grounded and talks in a way that is easy to understand and makes perfect sense. hearing how recently this man had been saved and yet how much God has been able to move him in his ministry is truly incredible. Travis's willingness to do the work God has laid in front of him is inspiring. thank you brother for your humility and willing to serve. your ministry is having an impact and is spreading quickly!! continue to let YHWH use you to His purposes.
Praise God for glory He has won for himself in your life, Travis! Our stories have some very interesting commonalities, may the Lord introduce us one day it would be a very enjoyable conversation. What a wonderful redeemer we have!
Pastor Travis? Can any Berean please tell where in the Bible does anyone have the title Pastor? Jesus commanded against such titles among the brethren didn't he? Matt. 23: 8-12
Pastor is from a totally different Greek work to those used in those verses. The words chosen in Matthew 23 are very particular and the one for teacher or master is only used there in the new testament. Whereas pastor actually means "shepherd". In Ephesians 4:11 you see the appointment of "pastors and instructors" which is one title/job description according to the Greek grammar.
How will anybody know anything about the special position and specifis work that certain men of God hold and function/perform in if we do not give them a title? A manager in a factory performs a certa5key funstion. But if both he and the owner refuse to call him by the title of Manager, then how will he be able to perform his duties properly?
I normally thought of the Greek word pastor as a job description. It isn't about being superior or better or such. Everybody does certain jobs or tasks and pastor tells you what that guy did. I can't see why it should cause a hang-up.

I've never written my testimony out, but think about it often and have just put it off. Thank you and all the others for your dedication to study diligently and your faithfulness to teach and preach.
