Do you backup your files?
Yes
@@World_of_OSesCloud backup, backup on the other drive or what type of backup?
(I use the cloud backup)
@@Odswietny I backup everything (~7 TB) to multiple external hard drives, one of which I keep at a different house. I also backup copies of just my most valuable files to the cloud, and even burn copies of just my most valuable files to archival-grade DVD and Blu-ray discs.
@@World_of_OSesI use cloud backup. At least I'm gonna have easy access on my phone anytime.
@@World_of_OSesSince one of your backup drives is kept at a different house, then you just bring the drive to your house to back up to it? And how frequently do you do it?

fun fact: if you login with 6 different accounts on windows longhorn betas, then shutdown, the shutdown sound will repeat 6 times.
Also happens on Windows XP.
@Glitter Still does that in SP3
@@ThatRandomToast And you made a video about it now, didn't you?
@@ThatRandomToastand u made a video about it now.
Sorry for replying to an old comment, but I have tested different Longhorn builds and the results are:
- 3683 and several other pre-reset builds with shutdown sound working: Shutdown sound plays only once and does not overlap.
- 5048: Shutdown sound plays three times: the first time plays normally, the second time plays overlap, and the third time plays normally.
I wasn't able to test build 5112 since if I installed the sound drivers (must be manually installed as you can't install VMware Tools), the UI froze.
Video poroposal : what happens if you press volume Keys in différent OSes
Changes the volume
@@leavemealone95 i mean windows 7 doesn't have volume dialog when volume keys pressed

Very nice video as usual :)
You should consider updating your Ubuntu and Fedora virtual machines. Fedora 36, KDE neon 5.25 and Ubuntu 22.04 is now available.
I used Ubuntu 16.10 because that was the last version of Ubuntu to still have the Unity desktop environment.
@@World_of_OSes What's wrong with later versions
@@World_of_OSes There is a new Ubuntu version that uses Unity. the name is Ubuntu Unity, the project has been out since about 20.04 LTS but has gotten really popular recently.
@@devilpros1346 Since Ubuntu 17.04, Canonical has deprecated Unity in favor of GNOME.
@@sgal5845 I have started using Ubuntu Unity 22.10 in some of my later videos.

What about making video with Linux distributes boot and shutdown screens?
ua-cam.com/video/OZ_qvuwhrbA/v-deo.html
This video reminded me how bad windows 8's login screen looked compared to other windows versions...
Here are a few interesting scenarios you haven't shown:
• Windows Server... you cannot shut down the computer from a login screen by default there
• Shutting down from a user session (their desktop, not the login screen) while another user is logged in... I know this will likely show a prompt for password on linux distros due to how polkit determines if a non-root user can power off the system.
Why not demonstrate with high resolution in Windows XP/Vista/7 as well?
Because they don't scale well. This video is in 2560x1440. I went for 720p-equivilant UI-sizing to keep things readable for people watching on phones, people with poor eyesight, people with low resolution screens, people watching from a long distance back, people watching in a low quality stetting e.t.c. I ran Windows XP, Vista and 7 in 1280x720 at 100% scale, then 200% nearest-neighbour scaled the footage to 2560x1440. I ran Windows 8 and 8.1 in 1920x1080 at 150% scale, then 133% interpolated the footage to 2560x1440. I ran Windows 10 and 11 in 2560x1440 at 200% scale.
For Linux distros and other OSes, I ran the ones that scaled well in 2560x1440 at 200%, and ran the ones that didn't scale well in 1280x720 at 100% scale, then 200% nearest-neighbour scaled the footage to 2560x1440. Some of them I ran in 1366x768 and then 188% interpolated the footage to 2560x1440 because I couldn't set 1280x720.
What size and resolution screen are you watching this video on?
@@World_of_OSes I watch 720p video on 1080p screen (exact 1280×720 section of 1920×1080 display in default zoom in Edge in Windows 10 in 96dpi), but Windows XP/Vista/7 do scale very well as you have demonstrated in your dpi comparison videos. I myself have XP VMs set in double resolution (1280×960 at 200% scale resized to 640×480, and 1600×1200 at 200% scale resized to 800×600).
800 x 600 was easier to eyes when not full screen

The music quality is off a bit. But, still great video!
AAC compression. In future I'll render the video mute, then render the audio to a WAV file, then encode the audio to AAC and join it to the video using FFmpeg because it seems to do a better job at encoding AAC without destroying the quality.
`ffmpeg -i mute.mp4 -i audio.wav -vcodec copy -acodec aac -ab 320k output.mp4`
@@World_of_OSesEnglish, please?
@@Odswietny Kompresja AAC.
