    What are your expectations for Drake Maye's first season in New England?

    I want them to do the same as KC did with Patrick personally. Full red shirt year with maybe a final game of the year appearance. Brady and Rogers also benefitted from this. Arguably the 3 best players at the position in the last 20 years.

      Honestly would not hate that idea. Maye could spend the season learning and refining his mechanics and worst case scenario for the Patriots is they end up with a draft pick high enough to draft Travis Hunter or Luther Burden III

    Every rookie QB that comes into the league comes with their own positives and negatives. The video does a good job of outlining those as well as how the coach and scheme could potentially benefit this player. Any claim about any rookie QB is one of speculation and in that spirit I'll give my speculative opinion. I think Drake is going to struggle in the sense of moving the team on a down to down basis, especially at the beginning of the season. I suspect he'll flash some amazing moments as well. The only thing that really matters is his ability to adapt and develop, becoming more consistent and if he manages that, the Patriots are likely set at QB for the next decade.

    Hey guys! Just found your channel. Maye was the last guy I wanted at 3...until we got Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker. Also, AVP is a QB whisperer. I think Maye could get his chance midseason and possibly ball out with the rookie WRs. Go Pats!!

    Chances of him being the NEXT , Peyton, Tom or Mahomes are statistically not good. But let's dream! That's what pre season is for!

    Impossible

    I like Drake Maye, but I also like Joe Milton. Milton has unlimited talent. He was a steal in round 6. Tgen again, so was Tom Brady

      If Milton takes the job from Maye that would remind me a lot of the Lance/Purdy situation if SF. It would also mean Milton would be legit and the Patriots would have their franchise guy

      @TheRationalFootballLeagueShow I am not taking nothing away from Maye, as I think he was a good pick, but Milton is possibly capable of taking the starting job someday. It's also like RG3 and Kirk Cousins. If anything, Milton will be a great backup to Maye. Maybe Milton will start on another team somewhere else in the future? I think it's a no-brainer to keep Milton over Bailey Zappe.

      I agree. Definitely should keep Milton over Zappe!

    He's neither player according to your title. I believe he will be the man in the end...

    • @TheRationalFootballLeagueShow
      @TheRationalFootballLeagueShow  Місяць тому +1

      That is fair. Maybe the title should have been Josh Allen or Mac Jones? He comps well to Allen, I was concerned about viewer interest if I compared him to a player that wasn't on the Patriots

      @@TheRationalFootballLeagueShow I'm not trolling, but your right about him reminding me of Josh Allen. That scares me. As good as that guys is what has really done? I'm not a huge J.A. fan

      Yea you have a point there. He’s great but for some reason he can’t get over the hump. Hopefully Maye is better at playing in structure than he is

    You guys are such assholes.. this is why these dudes feel so much pressure. No one will every be Tom Brady or Mac Jones. He will be the first Drake Maye so let's see what happens.

    • @TheRationalFootballLeagueShow
      @TheRationalFootballLeagueShow  Місяць тому

      Pretty harsh to come off calling us assholes. If you actually watched the video it’s entirely about the showing how Maye can succeed on Alex Van Pelts offense and where he may struggle. We don’t make any statements predicting his career projections. The title is strictly to represent will AVP’s offense make him look like a franchise quarterback (Tom Brady) or is this a bad pairing that will make him struggle (Mac Jones). But saying Drake Maye: good pairing or bad pairing isn’t the most SEO friendly title. By including Tom Brady and Mac Jones in the title means the yt algorithm will know to show our video to Patriots fans. Also I’m going to make the safe bet and say there is 0% chance he is seeing this video, but if he does I hope his take away is there are two dudes out there who believe he is in a good situation.
