Question. On the first one, why does that sometimes work. Draining the residual power? What happens that causes the interference where this helps it? I was going to try the changing out hdmi cables my tv is smartcast and im not 100% sure what my cables were that I bought but likely not 2.1 which my tv supports. However I went into an app and I still have weird lines and stuff now whether a bad hdmi or old hdmi cable still cause interference even if you're not on the hdmi input?
I got a question I was changing my picture settings around on my v series 65 inch vizio and was turning off signal noise block noise and contour smoothing and for a short moment tv was flickering but stopped any reason why and tv is up to date
Found one on the street that flickers full screen picture/full screen black every 1-2 seconds when hdmi is plugged in. Any idea where to start to troubleshoot?
Thanks for the video. Found a free Vizio D50u-D1 today and was told it has a flickering issue. Sure enough, most of the screen's backlight pops in and out every 3 seconds or so. Otherwise, works great. It flickers a bit brighter in the bottom right hand corner. I'm thinking it could the LED driver or the LEDs themselves? Thoughts?
My 85 p0j1 does this on 4k only and not 1080. New 48gb cables and still random black out of audio and video for about 5-10 seconds then it comes back and works for random time sometimes 15 min some times 30 min.
What would make my tv only flicker when watching hd channel or playing ps5 through hdmi cable. I set the channel to “game” picture and it stops the flicker. But if I try to watch an hd movie on prime it comes back. I’m pretty tech savvy so I’m confident I could fix it if I had to open it up but not sure where the problem is. Any help would be appreciated
Sounds like a software issue rather than hardware. I don't know what model you have, but I would try turning off/reducing any settings that might be connected to the backlight, like Dynamic Contrast, Action Smoothing, HDR, etc, and try and play around with different variations of these. If you're watching Prime though a streaming stick rather than the TV's app, then I would look at all your HDMI settings and cables first though.

I have about a 8-10 inch section near the bottom on my 50 in vizio smartcast tv. Also have a bunch of horizontal lines that start from the left and fade to normal towards the right. They fluctuate sometimes like they are pulsing. Pain in the ass I'm starting to have problems with it. Just over a year old too
My Vizio's picture is jumping vertically about 1/4 inch up for a split second about every 4 seconds although the rate varries. It started doing it a few days ago, then stopped for several days and not its doing it again.

swapping through the different picture modes fixed it for me try that if nothing else works.

I have a vizio tv that flickers occasionally. Xbox and even streaming movies on the built in apps. Do you have any suggestions on a fix?

I watched another video and went to picture mode and turned BACKLIGHT setting down to 62 and it worked.

Probably failing LEDs, but you'll need to test them to be sure.

Mine suddenly started flickering, I had to change the backlight to 60. Anything higher caused flickering.
TV started flickering this morning. I reset the TV to factory and it went away. Odd.

Probably a loose connection from the T-Con.
