This is one of the tracks that bridged my music taste from childhood into adulthood, and helped me realize that not all electronic music needs to be a dance party. this one will be with me forever
Same. I loved burial during the mid to late 2000s and proper appreciated the quiet thoughtful moments in his songs. Years later Shlohmo comes onto the scene with proper unique bangers, then outta nowhere drops an insane remix of Shell of Light. Paying homage to that exact underrated element and quality of Burial’s sound. It’s like he knew exactly what I liked about Burial and tripled it. Still love the original but damn was this song the one when it came out.
Revisiting some old favourites and this really has to be one of the most perfect remixes of all time just in terms of how it builds on the original whilst inspiring the same emotional response.
I just found out my family dog who has been alive for my entire life died this morning, and this shlohmo track reminds me of all the good times I had with him. cheers
Even though I'm all In my eternally depressed state whenever I hear this , I'm also eternally Intimate with every key moment of my life flashing. This song truly fucks with my feelings and Is one of the best modern remixes I've ever heard.
yeah I remember discovering this the first time in 2011. used to be unbelievably neurotic and depressed in my teenage years. and when I heard this, especially Burials original, I cried and cried my eyes out. it totally matched my mood and the sorrow. my brother used to tell me I shouldnt listen to this kinda stuff back then because it makes you depressed. but reading articles on correlation between the Big Five model and musical preference I know for a fact that melancholic music makes you feel better when feeling sad. crying makes you feel better. it releases stress through your tears literally. so anyone struggling in life, having anxiety, being plagued by childhood trauma, going through hell of some sort, take a moment in solitude and cry. makes you at least clear headed. I hope you all reading this, find their path to improvement!
I remember listening to the end of the original on repeat and when I first heard this remix I thought wow Shlohmo just gave us what we had all thirsted for.
beautiful mate. love burial since day one and you too.. seeing this I had to squint to make sure it was real. and the ending so emotional that you started with… just sitting after a bike ride. weeping
don't give it a genre.. it creates limits.. there are no tempo rules, there is no bpm limit, there is no sample folder to stay in, there is only music and the depth of imagination.
you're right i made a song the other day that started with only sound and melody for the first time in years that worked immediately and i knew what beat i needed over it, harmony and melody will take a person to another level alone and a real simple and slow beat will carry it into bliss so i found personally.... music is a power we feel and a deep connection wish i had talent like shlomo.
Its crazy that the two lyrics arent even in the same order as the original and yet this version just seems to make so much more sense. Burial is a genius
It's a fact that Burial is always a no-go area for remixes but kuddos to Shlohmo. I fucking love it. I'm definitely listening to this on my first day at the sea.
Every day priests examine the dharma And endlessly chant complicated sutras Before doing that, they should learn How to read the love letters sent by the wind and rain, the snow and the moon. -Ikkyū, Zen Poet, d.1481 (this poem just fits on so many levels, the rain drops in the image and the 'raindroppy' synth-beats in this mix, and the depth that communicates etc..)
this literally changed my life, i discovered shlohmo and the bad vibes album omg that album is pure genius ive tripped and gone deep that album seriously takes you places his creativity is beyond is later stuff is great but bad vibes is his best by along way
I was thinking why Burial's sound is so good and I thought of that perfect digital pic, and then the artist with drips on the canvas - Burial is the latter in music. It will not sound perfect from the studio, it will not jump to commercialism but man does it make me smile.
This remix is beautiful but I see it more as a part 2 too shell of light, like an extension of burial's masterpiece. Shlomo has done a fucking good job of bringing burial out of south London, but still managing too keep all his vibes. Well done that man.
This video description makes me laugh, shlohmo such a amazing artist.. This remix pales in significance to the original, sorry but it really does. *Burial such a amazing artist.
the focus should be on enjoying the music, regardless of whether it goes mainstream or stays underground. As long as your watching it on youtube and loving it it shouldn't matter
i was making out with a new gf when Burial's track Shell of Light came on. we were listening to the album and getting high...we were all over each other, it was bliss! this part of the track came on and i remember thinking, with my eyes closed, that this was a special moment. passion, love, melody, bass, tingles...! funny thing is i couldn't find the track again afterwards. i spent fucking days skipping tracks waiting to hear it again...then i let the album play and found it half way through a track i'd usually skip!! the fact burial put this part in that tune still stuns me...made me like the rest of the track in the end...but man, what a sample and what emotion!! he's the man alright...definitely the last music i'll listen to before i leave this life x
Can people please recommend other tracks like this for me? I've been vibing on this song for almost two years and while I think it's incredible that I keep coming back to THIS track, I wanna experience something similar to it.
It's IDM. like EDM, which is everything from dance to dubstep to house to trance. While IDM is basically everything from garage to chillout to ambient to experimental.
Im going to write the most heartfelt letter to my tropical rose..This song.the atmospheric aura..my current moods and feelings and most importantly the lyrics. just heart touching..i wonder everyday if god has caught her ear.. on my journey 25years..I found the most compelling situations surrounding every second and element of this one..BURIAL SHLOHMO. No1 can ever understand.. this world is so crazy but so beautiful.. for mother earth i have mad love.. C.L.T.P. MY WORLD IS YOURS & YOUR MY WORLD
This is one of the tracks that bridged my music taste from childhood into adulthood, and helped me realize that not all electronic music needs to be a dance party. this one will be with me forever
Such a legendary track
I was so obsessed with this one for a long period of time. Still revisit it often. Shlohmo captured that brief portion of burials track beautifully.
Same I come back often. I hate that it isn't on Spotify 😞

Burial: “how about u fucking cry for 30 seconds”
Shlohmo: “how about u fucking cry for the entire song”
Lol, hits deep this version
this is literally the most perfect comment .. ❤️
This track takes you somewhere special. A place that just belong to you, nobody else. Our very own paradise ! Peace.
as every Burial track!!
Even though I'm all In my eternally depressed state whenever I hear this , I'm also eternally Intimate with every key moment of my life flashing.
This song truly fucks with my feelings and Is one of the best modern remixes I've ever heard.
I actually think it's my favorite of the original and Shlohmo did a good thing looping those 30 beautiful seconds of Burial his original tune.
damn trap city before you were trap city
it gives me the feels lol
what does it mean
Around 10 years since I first heard this tune...a different period of my life, but it still gives me goosebumps.
SHLOHMO + BURIAL = MASTERPIECE
One of the most haunting and beautiful tracks out there
A superb retelling of Burial's masterpiece in storytelling.

THIS NEEDS TO BE ON SPOTIFY. 😭😭
this needs to be on vinyl :)
I remember listening to the end of the original on repeat and when I first heard this remix I thought wow Shlohmo just gave us what we had all thirsted for.
Where have i been the last 6 years? My two favorite artist! this is gold
beautiful mate. love burial since day one and you too.. seeing this I had to squint to make sure it was real. and the ending so emotional that you started with… just sitting after a bike ride. weeping
the most beautiful mix of the most beautiful track I’ve ever heard
This song made me fall madly in love with Shlohmo. His remixes are amazing! Is it possible to get high off of a song? If so, this is doing it for me.
This was our song. My bf (I guess ex now) and I. I still listen to this because it takes me back to happier times.
Ya still obsessed
don't give it a genre.. it creates limits.. there are no tempo rules, there is no bpm limit, there is no sample folder to stay in, there is only music and the depth of imagination.
well actually there is one genre called Shlohmo
Holy shit you nailed it
@KauTi0N
💯

It really does, I can imagine listening to this whilst sprinting and jumping over rooftops. Sounds like freedom :)
i get completely lost in this everytime i listen...which is pretty much on repeat every single day! absolutely beaut!!!
Vocals are sampled from Ernie Halter - Whisper if anyones interested
the sample is actually from Burial - Shell of Light, who originally took the sample from Ernie Halter.
and that sample is actually from an acapella cover of the song by someone else.
and also D'Angelo - Cruisin
Its crazy that the two lyrics arent even in the same order as the original and yet this version just seems to make so much more sense. Burial is a genius
I love this track now as much as I loved it then I can’t even explain how much it means to me this version
One of the only good burial remixes
can't stop listening to this, it's so... i can't find words to describe it just magical.
Never gets old and the comments just get more entertaining...thank u shlohmo and thank you Burial :)
set up my new speakers today, first song i listened to on them... totally worth it. love this tune, much love to shlohmo and burial!
It's a fact that Burial is always a no-go area for remixes but kuddos to Shlohmo. I fucking love it. I'm definitely listening to this on my first day at the sea.
Remixing my favourite part of Shell of Light and focusing on it, it's all I ever wanted.
me too
never forget this piece of art.. this is just unhuman
heartbleedin
You've done that rare and beautiful thing - you remixed Burial successfully. Very successfully. Congratulations.
Oh Shlohmo... you are one creative human being.
and burial?
This song just makes me so everything all at once
Beautiful vocals, well done Shlohmo, and a big up goes to Burial for creating such a gorgeous sample
I could listen to the beginning of this for hours! 😎😍
+Noah Voris Then just listen to the original track
+seafoam there is a version of this song that I can't find...
"ahh ahh ohh ohh ohh..." this remix is so amazing burial must be proud
i need this type of music to carry on in my life
I remember stumbling on this video a long time ago and from here, my obsession with this genre begun...
Gives me chills the whole time. Incredible track.

one flew over the cuckoos nest.

Im glad I clicked this song it beautiful and it speaks to me.thankyou Shlohmo
I could listen to this forever.
Still doing it
This puts me in a trance without drugs... Good headphones/speakers are crucial to listening this song 😍
On repeat for the rest of my life.
one of my favourite burial tracks... and you did a great job!
Burial is unremixable.. but this is just the exception... beautiful even if i've heard it thousands times
I love how the sounds gives you the information and your senses pick it up and translate it to head fuzz
this literally changed my life, i discovered shlohmo and the bad vibes album omg that album is pure genius ive tripped and gone deep that album seriously takes you places his creativity is beyond is later stuff is great but bad vibes is his best by along way
over the moon to have found this. always felt a bit disappointed that the end of the burial track didnt last longer, had to keep rewinding it!
I was thinking why Burial's sound is so good and I thought of that perfect digital pic, and then the artist with drips on the canvas - Burial is the latter in music. It will not sound perfect from the studio, it will not jump to commercialism but man does it make me smile.
Im still in love with this!
fantastic remix. love both the original, and this.
It's not a genre, but a very clever Burial and another clever lad Shlohmo. Both sweet to listen to.
taking the best bit of the original and creating a 4 minute piece of beauty
you don't need drugs to fly with this music, you'll fly only to listening it. Fantastic!
This might be in my top 5 of all time.
Burial is simply an amazing artist. Music trully comes from his heart and soul
Burial is a genius and will ever be. He is untouchable.
From my experience, these kind of artists and sounds have been mostly put under the genres of downtempo, lo-fi, and chillwave. Hope this helps!
The sound its just amazing...this mucic just dont stop to touch me, i love this!!!!
god can you whisper in her ear, i wasnt sure if we could be friends
:-(
the feels....................
this comment is so sad.
Hes always there
Thank you! Was always wondering what they were saying.
😔
"God can you whisper in her ear. I wasn't sure if we could be friends."
It's from a song called Whisper by Ernie Halter.
Thanks! dope song
effectively remixing burial.
you talented producer
This remix is beautiful but I see it more as a part 2 too shell of light, like an extension of burial's masterpiece. Shlomo has done a fucking good job of bringing burial out of south London, but still managing too keep all his vibes. Well done that man.
No words can describe this song
I'd happily listen to just the first section on loop for ten hours
only good remix i have ever heard of a burial song:)
Best loop ever made
This is hella slept on
Thanks man, just what i was looking for
this music talks to the soul.
iced water on a burning heart
Get into all the Burial awesome work
amazing remix - Shlohmo completely made it his own as well
When I saw the words Shlohmo and Burial together I passes out in excitement.
To even attempt to remix a burial tune is one thing. But to pull it off is another.
I love it !! good job Shlohmo !!!
Painfully beautiful.
This video description makes me laugh, shlohmo such a amazing artist.. This remix pales in significance to the original, sorry but it really does. *Burial such a amazing artist.
Woah what a nostalgia trip lol
the focus should be on enjoying the music, regardless of whether it goes mainstream or stays underground. As long as your watching it on youtube and loving it it shouldn't matter

I just LOVE the description ! :-)
THX , GREAT HD Upload..........1080p is another Song
Mt Eden failed at remixing a Burial Tune..but Shlohmo created a masterpiece
It's a sample of Whisper by Ernie Halter.
"God can you whisper in her ear"
"I wasn't sure that we could be friends"
Im going to write the most heartfelt letter to my tropical rose..This song.the atmospheric aura..my current moods and feelings and most importantly the lyrics. just heart touching..i wonder everyday if god has caught her ear.. on my journey 25years..I found the most compelling situations surrounding every second and element of this one..BURIAL SHLOHMO.
