Well, if we look on one of your demo videos, we see, how a user should start an instance with preinstalled database and some additional services to use your software.

Is this the new way of using a cloud? "Designed for cloud scale" means, that a user starts a more powerful instance? Snowflake seems to be just a user interface over the existing AWS services. But the legacy (!) services. The same way an oracle BI works on a dedicated server, Snowflake works in a cloud. I see nothing revolutionary new.

Yes, this is a new way of using the Cloud. Snowflake is a completely new database architecture that uses the infrastructure clouds in an entirely new way and one that abstracts away complexity. Storage is the Cloud object store (AWS S3, Azure Blob, or Google GCS) which means storage is extremely cheap while still providing 11 9s of resilience. Compute spins up automatically when needed and shuts down when not needed--billed by the second. Full support for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. Access is via SQL. This means Snowflake can support data lake, data warehouse, data engineering, data application, data science and data sharing workloads out of the box.

Here is a document that describes how Snowflake is different docs.snowflake.com/en/user-guide/intro-key-concepts.html
