Jason is the best interviewer in Silicon Valley. He is able to think in lockstep with some of the most competent CEOs in the Valley. No other interviewers can operate at this level! A real treat for everyone on the outside.

Thank you, Jason! This is definitely one of the best interviews of a CEO recently. Please have him back for a part 2 very soon! I feel like this should have been longer and there’s so much more about Frank to unpack.

Nice job. Great interview. This guy is a winner. I listened to Snowflake’s last quarter earnings call. It was the best call I’ve heard in a very long time.

Jason, you are so amazing with what you do. The ease and comfort you show in such interviews is impeccable. I finished reading rise of the data a week ago. Perhaps best timing for me to listen in. Frank is no doubt one of the finest leader!!!

Love hearing Frank's thoughts as a young founder. Conflict doesn't come to me naturally but I've found I care too much about the business to let things go lately. Thanks for this interview.

Great interview - but I disagree about the last point - that business is a zero sum game. If you get competed out of an industry - you don't have to die. You can go look for another, underserved industry, or create a new industry, and serve that. That's how the expertise of the market expands.

Great interview of a top drawer modern tech business leader. But no interview in 2022 should ignore climate risk, especially with a guest with massive personal footprint and material (if small in the grand scheme) political and economic influence. I’d like to know how catastrophic global heating is going to be stopped in an environment of high growth corporate warfare. Or, nah don’t worry about it there’s no problem? Mind that winter wildfire though, right? Or a Chrissy tornado - that sounds fun.
If business is about making bets, I’ll bet our global greenhouse emitting business model will be the dominant story within this decade. By a lot. And most other stories will have climate disaster at their core.
Does Frank agree? Does he think we’re in the early stage of a galactic climate emergency? He has kids and perhaps grandkids not far off. They won’t be sailing fast yachts to Hawaii in a +2C world. Maybe not even in a +1.5C world. For that matter how does Snowflake’s $90b cap look at +2C? Those future cash flow props look ok?
Or does Frank think it’s overblown or maybe even a hoax? Charge on! Attack! A huge call - if he gets this one wrong history will record him and most other “modern tech execs” as frauds on a historical, civilisational scale. No one person will have caused the problem and all will have contributed. Leaders and influencers will be the face of those who could have made a material difference. We will have needed a billion climate activists today, but instead of helping activate this group Frank would have been busy writing books aimed at sharpening the weapons of future entrepreneurs to kill each other in a dysfunctional climate where customers can barely find or afford food for their families.
To remain silent on climate with every guest in 2022 feels literally like Nero fiddling while Rome is burning.

In my case, I am highly skilled at what I do and exceptionally capable when I am at 100. However, my mental health is a shitshow and I cannot force myself to work. So will end up with 3-4 days of low productivity with 1 day of hyperproductivity and there is no middle ground. It baffles me that there are people who have the ability to continuously execute. My profession also has the highest turnover rate out of any industry in social work and somehow I am still in the game and have not been fired.
