Welcome to Historical Ship Museum! Here at Frösåker jetty, Sweden's largest privately owned floating wooden boat fleet is bobbing in the lake. The museum consists of replicas and originals from the Viking Age to the common age. Among other things there is a copy of the largest medieval cog found in Sweden; 29 meters long and 8 meters wide... A real pirate ship! Guided tours every day in summer.
Historical ship museum is a maritime museum, located at Frösåker's wharf about two miles east of Västerås. The museum has around 25 medieval wooden boats. The largest are the Roter Teufel quills and the Almere koggen. There are several Viking ships. You can also see commoners' boats, snipes, Nordland boats and a church boat. All are launched and lie at the docks during the summer. Rowing and sailing trips are organized for visiting groups. New boats have also been built here to increase the stock.
