Happy to make more content on this. I will say this if a person must use nicotine I typically recommend nicotine salt pouches like ZYN. That in my opinion is your best form of harm reduction with regard to quitting smoking or quitting any inhaled form of nicotine
Started with the gum and moved on to the vape. Threw my vape out 2 days ago. No real urges. I never have urges unless something stressful happens. So now I need to not jump on it in those situations. Made me feel like sht. The good thing is I’ve only been using it on and off for 5 months. This time I want to make it permanent and the first step was admitting to myself I’m addicted to it and doing it here and there is not possible.
I think the catalyst for me quitting last night was Two Fold. 1) Canada just added $20 word of taxes to each bottle of E-juice, and 2) There is no longer any benefit from it. Just a waste of money. I'm only 13 hours in, and i'm holding my own so far. I originally started, because I found it allowed me to focus on my writing. It was by pure coincidence that I discovered it, and that effect quickly diminished, making it more of a distraction in every aspect of my life. It's a strange feeling. I can FEEL my whole body wanting the nicotine. It's fascinating to me, more so than anything else. The fact that I am craving something so much, that I feel it head to toe.
13 years been smoking decided to try to quit... AGAIN. 2nd week in, holding strong. Surprised that when consuming alcohol i felt less tempted to have a ciggy
I ended up quitting for a solid six months, but Nicotine was always in the back of my head. To the point where I couldn't even work and almost lost my job. I was butting heads with everyone I loved. So I went nic pouches instead of cigarettes and vapping. At least my lungs feel better than when I was smoking/vaping. I know it not the story you wanted to hear, but it's at least real. To anyone thinking of just doing it once, don't do it, especially if you have an addictive personality.
@FTGPORKCHOP I'm in the same situation. Got off vaping and all nicotine for a little bit. Did pretty alright, but it was constantly in the back of my head. Switched to pouches, much much better but I don't feel like quitting them any time soon lol. Still miss smoking and think about it all the time, but trying my best to stay on pouches.
@@ptr7715I did the same until I went to my dentist.. literally only used nicotine pouches for 2 months. She told me if I don’t quit that now, I might lose teeth because of future gum diseases. Stopped smoking a month ago after years of smoking a pack a day. What I miss is the communication while smoking with my buddies. I know it sounds stupid, but something about having a chat with a cig hits different
Yo I feel you bro but for me I think the best feeling is chatting with a disposable vape with someone but the number one feeling has to be when you sneak a hit of a vape in a bathroom somewhere it gives me a huge buzz
@@alexissanchez3009 well as of right now the last time I smoked any vape or cig products or any type of nicotine was since November of last year 2022 and I can’t really remember any types of withdrawals except extreme hunger at certain times where I would just eat non stop and be hungry not even a hour later. I would also be irritable sometimes toward certain people I think is a possible withdrawal more then usual. Hunger tho is a definite sign
Totally agree. Compared to alcohol or "harder" drugs, nicotine, sugar and caffeine don't disasteriously alter your behaviour. Hence, I feel that as an ex alcoholic and heroin and crack addict, they are the most insidious.

Might be worth checking out if you suffer from Alcohol use disorder/Substance use disorder
I've been addicted to cigarettes for 50 yrs. Besides a couple of years while pregnant and nursing, I've smoked. I'm 62 y/o and am so lost in my quit journey. Nicotine replacement does nothing to help. I absolutely hate smoking.

I quit cigs 11 days ago, for the however many-eth time. Smoke tobacco pipes/pipe tobacco strictly now that ive stopped cigs, but i genuinely enjoyed cigarettes. I dont want to quit completely, id like to smoke occasionally because i thoroughly enjoy the act of smoking, & the feeling at certain moments. Felt close on day 3 so i bought a pack but never opened it. Something about having a pack while choosing not to smoke, something mental about it calms the urge down. Vs not havi g cigs & trying to quit, not having the option to just reach for one. But i want one here & there, socially, or after a good meal, or after i smoke bud a cigarette sure beats a pipe. Idk. Still getting nicotine with pipe tobacco just not inhaling it, but i k ow once you smoke a cig its hard to keep it light & not fall right back into, for me, a pack a day & going broke.
I went about 5 hours without using my vape after I had thrown it away. I felt so dizzy, my heart was beating fast, and I was craving it like crazy.. I ended up ordering a new one. I feel so disappointed and so sad. I tried to quit many times before, no luck so far. What makes it worst is that I don’t have anyone I can talk to about this.
Not sure if you’re still battling with this but I know that feeling, I’ve quit more times than I can remember just to go back within a couple days, for some reason this time is different I’m a week free from nicotine although I felt sick as hell, most of this week, it’s been all the more reason to quit and stay quit, it’s all in your head. For me personally it was the fact that I’ve told myself I’d quit a million times and i would always cave in, vaped since 2018 daily. You gotta be tired of it enough. If you’re not tired of it you won’t quit for good, but if you really wanna take care of yourself you know it’s best to quit. So quit. I wish you as much luck as I’m having

Hey I quit 6 days ago cold turkey ! I can tell you ugh I have been so dizzy the first two days were terrible . I’m feeling much better now !!! It gets better I promise !!
Its my day 6 today. One of the attempts after multiple failed attempts. I am able to manage without nocotine. It's a big foggy in the head. I hope i'll sail through this .
I did the book and I think it was great for the mental side but it left me thinking that it was actually going to be easy the first couple days and it was not I ended up relapsing it had to be prepare myself mentally for the feelings of withdrawal as well but it definitely did help
I realized I can drop nicotine cold turkey, no problem, for MONTHS almost immediately. As long as I don’t end up at a smoke shop which actually IS outta the way for me, I can stay nicotine free for a while. WHY CANT I DO THE SAME WITH WEED?!? WHATS SO DIFFERENT ABOUT THEM BOTH THAT COULD CAUSE THIS?!
You nailed it!...... Disagreement here - the downside was drastic, I had crazy anxiety and depression directly related to nicotine consumption. First I Vaped for 2 years..... then to get off that I did was the 2-3 milligram lozenges. But it would make my heart race and I would get so sad and depressed. Massive roller coaster. Complete motivation killer. Social withdrawal... Like you I had enough and I cold turkey. 4 days we're rough big deal. Day 5 thank god!
I don't think I'm addicted to nicotine, but to this chemistry cocktail in finished cigarettes, pure tobacco has almost no effect on me, it just increases the pressure for a "normal" cigarette, Who knows, maybe I'm addicted to some special radioactive waste that is only in industrially manufactured cigarettes...devil's stuff..
Same,I went from cigs to vaping, still getting the nicotine but still had big withdrawals from the cigs.I think it's the chemicals I'm the cigs that's more addicting.
Yes, the other chemicals are in there so that the nicotine (concentrated chemical from big corp's tobacco plants that have been genetically engineered to be stronger already) works faster and harder.
I’m 2 days without Zynning. I have been going through 6 packs a week for two years. I can tell you this isn’t fun, but it’s not horrible. I’m hoping they stop being so bad on day 3. Any advice guys?
Hey mate, cravings are bad for the first 3-5 days but after that you really start to forget about it and get back to being fully present in day to day life. Just try and keep yourself busy and avoid stressful situations for the first month as that stress will cause you to want to relapse as a coping mechanism. I've been clean for 80 days and I've very rarely thought about nicotine unless I'm in an extremely stressful situation. Be careful with alcohol as well as I started to drink more beer as a 'replacement' for a couple of weeks but it's a slippery slope so just be careful and don't substitute the 'addiction' with other substances. Now I'm at a point where I think back to my nicotine addiction and can appreciate how it made me feel but I don't desire to buy some as I can recognise how much it was destroying my life. Good luck
Them late night stomach cramps were brutal lol. I’m on day 4 now. The cramps are gone but man those sucked. Kept waking up at like 3 or 4 am for the first 2 days with the worst cramps lol. I’ve only been doing them for about 7 or 8 months. I can’t imagine what someone who has been using them for years would go through.
Quit smoking 5 years ago. Wasnt so hars.. But 2 years ago i started taking nicotine pouches. After 3 months i was already on the strongest in the market. 25-30mg nicotine/pouch.. Quitting nicotine pouches for me is much harder😢
Thank you, this was super eye opening for me. As someone who has (nearly) quit alcohol, and struggling for years now by switching mechanisms of nictone delivery ... I finally fucking get it. I always felt like I got it, but I think I might actually get it now.
Im turning 17, been addicted to nicotine for less than a year and a half. I quit for three weeks but a bad day happend and I relapsed, this happend around 13th of March. I've been trying to quit again and again but somehow I just continue to relapse cuz of the withdrawals, but I just know I'm gonna quit one way or another.
My primary issues were weed, nicotine, adult media and energy drinks. I am making a video about alcohol soon, was never addicted but my relationship with it was not good. I will say that
Im back. i tried quitting multiple times over the past 4 years but now i have a new commited relationship and i just got hired for a band. If i don't quit now ill never quit. So i need to quit now. no more trying out zyns and nicotine patches. im just doing it. i dont care how i feel at work tomorrow, im just sick of being a slave to this bullshit and i dont want to have to hide it because god is it such a shameful thing to be too irritated to listen to somebody you love. Im sick of it. God help me.
No one talks about how pouches literally waste away at your gums . Zyns completely destroyed my mouth after a 5 year addiction it's like rubbing sand paper on your gums . Yet no one talks about it
im just so tired of being at work or anywhere and running to the bathroom every 30 minutes to vape, and getting irritated when the bathroom stals are being used and say "im just a nervous pee-er i cant pee around people" when really i just want to hit my vape, im going to try out nicotine patches tomarrow i really hope they help, i feel like i cant quit because of my job, i feel like i could do it at home without any stressor but if i were to withdraw at work id for sure relapse, i hate how short it lasts its such a terrible addiction, partly because nicotines effects are so short lived and you constantly need to run back for more.
I quit weed first, now alcohol, cigarettes and caffeine in the same week, first alcohol 4 days ago, I was drinking heavily and daily due to unemployment and depression. Now tomorrow cigs and cafeïne, due my sensitivity to becoming anxious from caffeinated coffee and also the well known trigger cigarette and a coffee in the morning. Switched to non alcoholic drinks like mocktails to still feel a bit fun having ‘a drink’ and will be drinking a lot of tea and water. Also eating healthy snacks, drinking water and moving my body when triggered for smoking as I really became underweight and lost muscles. I was just sitting around doomscrolling, drinking and smoking. Tommorow I start a new job I wil use this to my advantages. You have to spike new neuropathways in your brain. Maybe in your case quitting both at the same time would be best. When I tried before I quit smoking 3 months, still smoked hasj and relapsed. All these substances pushed me to the point of being sick of it but still doing it until one day I just say enough is enough of this! Today’s that day for cigs and coffee.
I am hitting bottom with nicotine addiction I am stealing to make sure that I have enough money for cigarettes...I'm already a recovering addict with 18 months clean from drugs.... nicotine is harder to quit than crack cocaine

@@monopolybillionaire5027 Man after the first 4-5 days, it really does become a lot less jarring compared to the first day. Instead of actively thinking of it as bad, try to actively move away from the thoughts and impulses of nicotine altogether. Never let yourself believe that the quitting process is insignificant or that it ~should~ be easy.
The hardest part is the fact that it's just really fun. I never got any withdrawls when I stop for a couple of weeks but when I feel bored I really wish I could have some nicotine.
Exactly the same for me, how are you doing right now, 4 months later?

I used to believe in "addiction" until I quit smoking cigarettes & weed after 35 years, then I realized it was just a "choice" ... clean 6 years. The only thing that helped with cravings was MOVE!!
Hardest was having to learn to drive without smoking. It gets easier. Weed withdrawals was HELL.

Holy shit. Good for you 🙏 only thing ive done is weed, then one day at a hangout with family, i tried a gummy foe the first time, greened out, and havent gotten high since. Lets just say it felt similar to an overdose
I smoked constantly for 9 years vaped constantly for over 3 years. And have been in pain for the last 7 years. Constant bladder pain issue abdominal pain issues. I’ve come to the realization the only way to stop the pain is to stop everything!!!! I just quit already feel a ton better and I’m not going back!!!!!
Same issue but my physical therapist found tighr pelvic muscles. Only relieved through stretches and massage.

I've always been one of those people that just kind of gets tired of doing things, and then I just stop doing them. I literally took my last vape hit and said, "this is boring now." I've never experienced any difficulties quitting, whether it's alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, or whatever else that had run it's course. I wish everyone the best on their journeys!

I went three years without it, relapsed two months ago and it’s waaaay stronger this time.. I’m quitting with you, let’s do this
I don’t think there’s an issue with doing it every once in a while. The problem is doing it nonstop every day. I’m on day 4 without nicotine. I don’t plan on never doing it again though. It’s just not an everyday thing for me anymore.
The hardest thing is fighting that second voice in your head.
One of the best channels on addiction, really love your content. used to take IQOS and already free for almost a month, challenging but doable.
Do you have any information on heat not burn product? like IQOS etc? I really want to know how damaging this is in order to keep going. perhaps you can make a video on it.
Many thanks!!!
Happy to make more content on this. I will say this if a person must use nicotine I typically recommend nicotine salt pouches like ZYN. That in my opinion is your best form of harm reduction with regard to quitting smoking or quitting any inhaled form of nicotine
Please could you help do a video about Iqous I agree this is addictive too 😢
Started with the gum and moved on to the vape.

I am the complete opposite I need a cig after drinking alcohol
Usualy i was too but this time was different. Guess it has something to do with determination
I am going to start watching you when I have a craving
I don’t feel like I need weed tho now but every time I get done with a cig now after 15 min my stomach hurts
Withdrawal is mostly dietary related, don't skip meals significantly reduce caffeine intake, drink water and do some form of exercise.
I'm quitting this thing because it does not bring value to my life.
How are you a year later?
@ptr7715 Thank you for sharing. Make me not feel alone on my issues.

I never thought that nicotine can also regulate blood sugar. im hardcore snus user and an alcoholic also. every time I eat I get sweaty, have those hot flashes. body is producing too much insulin, blood sugar is going up and down like a rollercoaster
Just threw mine out yesterday. I had a wake up call after getting two panic attacks im 33 and this has never happened to me before. I’m not even a heavy vape user, on and off for about a year. Hopefully this improves my mood and anxiety.
I'm getting TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) for depression & autism, I vaped a decent bit for most of 2023 and quit both nicotine and alcohol this past new year's, and I've noticed as the TMS treatment continues I get a lot less cravings for both.
Cold turkey is the way to go if you are dead set on quitting. Nicotine replacement will only delay the inevitable.
Buy the book Allen Carrs easy way. Read it as many times as it takes to get you to start quitting then reread it as you go through the 1 2 weeks. You got this!

Great video bro!
Welll just prayed for my self that I quit nic I just had my last cig about 20 min ago I can do this already getting and craving
I’m quitting zyns and caffeine because 8 bucks every 2 days for energy drinks and zyns comes out to 125 a month
Good luck
Idk what shit they put in zyn, but the withdrawls have been bad
Them late night stomach cramps were brutal lol. I’m on day 4 now. The cramps are gone but man those sucked. Kept waking up at like 3 or 4 am for the first 2 days with the worst cramps lol. im just so tired of being at work or anywhere and running to the bathroom every 30 minutes to vape, and getting irritated when the bathroom stals are being used and say "im just a nervous pee-er i cant pee around people" when really i just want to hit my vape, im going to try out nicotine patches tomarrow i really hope they help, i feel like i cant quit because of my job, i feel like i could do it at home without any stressor but if i were to withdraw at work id for sure relapse, i hate how short it lasts its such a terrible addiction, partly because nicotines effects are so short lived and you constantly need to run back for more.
I used to be in the same situation but I was able to quitted cold turkey.
Is it easier to use weed to quit cigs or just both at same time?
You have too overload the system with a NRT product like lozenges, but you must do more or equal the amount of nicotine from vapes, cigs etc
It's my 14th day again... Lets hope it sticks...
I am hitting bottom with nicotine addiction I am stealing to make sure that I have enough money for cigarettes...I'm already a recovering addict with 18 months clean from drugs.... nicotine is harder to quit than crack cocaine
