FPV - Helion 10 - Mount Whitney, California - JSS memorial flight - RIP Big Bro

Ever since I climbed Whitney back in the early 1990s with my brother and two friends I've always felt an incredible connection to the mountain. It's the highest mountain in the Contiguous United States at 14,505 ft. in the beautiful state of California. Back then, our hiking group of 4 set out at 3:30am headed for the mountaineer route and we ended up coming back on the main switchback trail. It was a total of 13.5 hours up and down.
Since summiting Whitney I lost my brother. Now, Mt. Whitney serves as an incredible memorial. This flight is dedicated to my Brother Jeff. This mission was operated legally outside of the Wilderness area ( took off, landed, and was operated. ) Additionally, the aircraft was maintained at an altitude high enough to not endanger habitat or hikers while still abiding all FAA rules. A lot of planning and preparation was done before this flight became a reality.
