Sas is the daddy of all special forces, but the US carried that legacy over to their own special forces.

7:55 I’m ex British military so I can answer this for Simon very easily, that is a PTI (Physical Training Instructor) and they don’t do the phys with you whilst in training, now I wasn’t marines and I was never deployed anywhere but I did do a “pre marine” training whilst in the signals (a branch of the army) and its very hard you have to be very physically fit to be able to go through marine training (from my experience at least), another misconception is that marines are part of the army or are a stand alone branch of the military, where the latter statement is half true it is actually a subsidiary of the Royal Navy (us in my unit liked to call then frog soldiers)

To answer Harry - genuinely because some people's life goals aren't money and a family, some want to do something they believe in, some want to do something where, even if they die, they can die with pride, especially on special ops, as many will go unknown but saved countless lives. Politics and what not aside - genuine special forces in every country fight an intelligence war on a daily basis that you won't know about, and they'll just be another star on a wall, i don't get it either - but i can appreciate that when you reach such a level, the world feel like a different beast, almost like a game, to get a sense of agency and pride in what they achieved.
There are billions of us, it is natural that many will want to do shit differently.

@@RonWonWon Special ops is nothing to do with violence loving or serving for something. Some people can't live normal lives, constant stress or adrenaline boost is how they can keep themselves sane and have joy. It's an ego and pride thing, which for a man is nothing wrong about. Not everyone survives the first week of spec ops, let alone the whole training period.
@@RonWonWon I've seen a video of our Russian sniper coach who was telling that snipers don't kill people, but the enemy. Also he was saying that when a soldier leaves their signatures while killing an enemy, he is not suited for the army because he is a maniac. So no violence among this group for certain

When I worked on an oil rig in Norway. We had to do the helicopter whater ting every 4 years. And it felt like drowning. But I think a survival course and rescue is something everyone should do. Important things that make it easier to survive an accident happen

I'm talking about the real wrestling; the one that you see in the Olympics, college competitions and MMA. Wrestling training is the most brutal training in all sports. It's strength, endurance and cardio done intensely at the same time. No wonder why wrestlers easily translate to MMA and other disciplines. They are the most conditioned athletes.
