We love these 2 books! We treat them as non-consumable by using counters to cover the things that are supposed to be colored (my kiddo is big on coloring anyway). The second one has more required writing, but we modify or copy pages that absolutely need to be written on. The books are a bit pricey new, so we decided they need to make it through all 3 of our kids LOL
We do play based math along with a workbook for my 5 year old!!! When we started she just did play based learning!!! We do stuff like the 3 year old book when playing!!! We use books as well!!! The 2nd book looks awesome!!! My older kids find word problems hard so using word problems in that way would help my youngest not to struggle when she’s older!!! I love trying to start in a math topic in a basic way and this does that!!!
That looks like a really cool option. Thanks for sharing that! I also love the "don't have to get out all the manipulatives" thing. My boys always end up throwing them all over the floor by one means or another 😂
Do you think you could have skipped straight to book 2? My three year old already knows his numbers 0-30, shapes, colors, and some preposition words. Another curriculum recommended this book and he tested into book two but I’m debating if I would be skipping too much by just jumping straight into book 2. What’s your opinion?
I don’t think it would skip too much at all. However, I just did books 1 and 2 in one year and did a few pages a day. They’re really easy and engaging but the logic/reasoning component is different from other math curriculum.
Thank You!
No problem!

Yes! I find counting bears everyyyywhere!
This looks great. Did they prepare your son? Are you going to continue using them for preschool?

@@MommaonMission thank you!
I'm sure the critical thinking company sell books of just the "can you find me" pages that your son loves.
Good idea I’ll have to check!
