From now Christine shall be known as the Detroit demon car😂😂😂
Lol that why she bad she Detroit made she take no sh*t 😂 Plymouth fury
So says one, so says all!
Need more reactions with movies that have Detroit in them 😅 just to see him say "Not Detroit, Shut the F... up" 😂
Doctor Detroit would be a good movie.
One of my favorite songs from suzi quatro ❤
"Body by Plymouth...Soul by Satan" is probably the best tagline of all time
Oh yeah
Whether you watch the movie,or read the book, ask yourself "was Arnie driving Christine,or was Christine driving itself.?
Some vehicles are lucky if nothing else. I have a motorcycle I had an accident with at 100 mph, walked away. Got run over on it by a car, got a black leg for some weeks but nothing permanent. It doesn't look too great anymore as it took a lot of damage in that one, but I'm not getting rid of it until the police impound it.
That shot of the flaming car coming out of the garage is one of my favorite vehicular shots in horror.
The shot of Arnie's possessed demonic face in the car during the bulldozer battle is one of my favorite scenes in horror

Fun fact: The lead actress is a twin and she decided to prank the director by having her sister stand in for her during a scene.
The director is looking at the setup and asking himself "why isn't this looking right?"
The lead actress, walks up behind him and says "did you replace me ALREADY?!"
To say the director was shocked, is an *understatement!*
"Oh, so this is a Detroit demon car!" haha perfect description of Christine. Also one of John Carpenter's best and most underrated soundtracks.
I LOVE this soundtrack
My Dad had a black car that he called Christine (because of this movie). We laughed about it.... UNTIL one day the other car was in the shop, (my Dad was at work) and we had to use "Christine" to go to the store. The key would not come out once we got there. So someone had to wait in the car. Then when we got home, the key came right out. My Dad said "Christine didn't want ya'll asses in there." He laughs his azz off every time he brings it up. And no, we didn't attempt to drive it again.
I had a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis (basically a Crown Vic with bells and whistles). Dad and I rebuilt its engine; it had a couple seized pistons and we made some upgrades. The day of its first test drive after being rebuilt, my Dad left it running to warm up and was outside breaking ice away from the garage door (it was winter in the upper Midwest).
Somehow, it caught fire while sitting there idling. Took out most of Dad's garage and almost killed him in the process. He tried to go in with a fire extinguisher and save it.
After that, we called it Christine. Kept the engine block--it was still good. Crushed the rest in the junkyard. I painted the "Christine" logo on the hood and the tow truck driver that picked her up was like, "Do I need to be worried?"
I told him to make sure it was first in line for the crusher when he got to the yard. He did.
Christine was ratting you out.
The Book is way scarier IMHO I read it and I couldn't sleep for a week.
@@K1ng1995 I read that in high school like 30 years ago and there are STILL parts that I remember! Holy Crap.
The scene with Christine driving down the road in flames is super bad ass
You probably didn't notice but the car ACTUALLY TALKS through the radio. All the songs playing on the radio at various moments tells you what she's saying or thinking.
All those songs on Christine's radio are Christine talking to whoever is sitting in it.
My favorite Stephen King film. Christine was a Plymouth Fury.
"I don't have to call the insurance?!" - Best. Line. Ever. hahaha
The old man with the chest brace that sold him the car was the shovel man from Home alone.
I thought I recognized him!
I never realized! Good eye :O
Several actors ..the detective was in Fire down below with Steven Seagal, Dennis was the pilot who turned in his wings in Top Gun.
She’s a Detroit demon car!
Christine is a sensitive 1957 Plymouth fury. I wanted one so bad that only played classic oldies to mess with people.
Now with Bluetooth you could make your own Christine Playlist ;)
The car had hydraulics hidden all over it to collapse the panels, but then they reversed the shot to make it looked like the car put itself back together.
I absolutely laughed out loud at your evil plans for Christine... You could pick up my groceries, run an errand... 😂❤
Yo our bro has a dark side, wanting Christine to be his sidekick and shit
@@thehonestwoodcutterbradywe8011 Just think what she could do to road ragers!
A little FYI for you, a friend of mine owns the car that was in the alley scene. He fully restored it, and he has loaned it to the Hollywood Car Museum for people to see. As far as I know it's the only one from the movie still around. And OMG is it beautiful!!!
If so I'm Facebook friends with him. He's great
There's actually a reason why only Christine is red on the assembly line. The 1958 Plymouth Fury normally only came in buckskin beige, while Christine was special ordered in Autumn Red.
Christine is a damn Decepticon!! Lol.
In the book, the girl sends a Christmas card to Arnie’s friend 5 years later, with a news clipping showing a red car killed a guy. It was the last of the guys who trashed Christine. It was still hunting them down years later.
Christine actually makes a brief appearance in the novel "IT." I always loved how King intertwines his stories.
And 11/22/63. Where the main character incidentally runs into Beverly and Richie. 😍
3:02
What kind of death is that?
Rick Sanchez: “Instant…”
Rumor has it Jordan Peele is planning a remake of this.
The old dude said he knew a guy who killed himself in a car like that. He didn't say that he killed himself in that specific car.
Those glasses are stepped on like someone who’s never had to pay for a pair of glasses. 🤓
I believe the car was driving by itself when it killed the bullies since he could prove he was away on the job.
"You can't polish up a turd"..."Well you can, but it's not a good idea." Indeed good sir. Indeed. 😅
"Detroit Demon Car" 😂😂😂
I don’t remember watching this movie but the scene of the car driving through the fiery gas station is so incredible.
If you enjoyed this, I can’t WAIT for you to see Maximum Overdrive !! 😁
Oh, he'll ya! It'll be great! I swear if I was a trucker, I'd have the damn clwn/joker, attached to my grill. Awesome movie 👍
And ACDC soundtrack
Campiest movie ever! Love it!
@@rocknroller77Love that Green Goblin grill
Steven King, the coke years.
He has said afterwards that when he directed this film he was so blasted on coke he cannot remember days of shooting, never mind trying to explain his thought processes making the film.
Saying that... The Soda can vending machine death is Inspired..
"Christine" was one of Kelly Preston's earliest film roles ( it was released in 1983). She was married to John Travolta and co-starred in such big budget films as "Twins" and "Jerry Maguire". In 2020 Kelly Preston passed away from cancer, I believe. I had no idea she was sick.
For me, Christine is the most iconic car in film. 1955 Plymouth Fury in that cherry red... and self repairing to boot!
This will be fun! “Christine, You ain’t shit”. I’ll be looking for from our favorite reactor. 😂 Enjoy this one our friend!!
Top 5 for sure
The old man who sold the car is the same who played the scary neighbor in Home Alone.
I still want this car. Possessed or not it's a beautiful vehicle.
I’ll be your side chick who understands your love of Christine lol
"Look at that hair. How you gonna pick on somebody?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can resist no longer. Subbed!

@@EOMReacts And I dare you to watch Fright Night - BOTH the 1985 (original) movie and the remake in 2011. Then, you should compare which of the two you like more. I can't decide because I love them both!
I think this is where my obsession with vintage cars started.
Edit...17:07...Dude's wearing a Lebowski Sweater.
I have never seen someone root so much for the car! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The actor that played Detective Junkins is Harry Dean Stanton. He’s a great character actor. He had a role in the amazing film Cool Hand Luke starring Paul Newman, and he was the guy who told Mark Ruffalo “son, you’ve got a condition” after Hulk fell from the sky in The Avengers.
He was also the mechanic in "Down Periscope".
And Molly Ringwalds pops in Pretty In Pink
And Brett in Alien. Right!
I love that moment Arnie died and Christine lowers her headlights out of mourning. Christine is the best gf.
Christine at the end said "Tis but a flesh wound"
"Whoa, whoa. You better watch what you say about my car. She's real sensitive."
Fun Fact: Both Stephen King and John Carpenter have cited H.P. Lovecraft as inspiration.
Location Location Fact: Portions of the film, particularly Arnie's neighborhood, were shot in the same South Pasadena neighborhood that director John Carpenter used in Halloween (1978).
Extra Extra Fact: Oak Park High School's football team was used to film the game; being a small school, all boys from the school had to be used to field both sides of the ball as well as the sidelines. OPHS uniforms were used by the defense, and for the offense, league rival Carpenteria's uniform was used.
Automobile Enthusiast Fact: Christine is a 1958 Plymouth Fury. Dennis' (John Stockwell) car is a 1968 Dodge Charger 440. Buddy's (William Ostrander) car is a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro. Will Darnell's (Robert Prosky) car is a 1974 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. Arnie's (Keith Gordon) parents' car is a 1971 Volvo 144 Automatic. The bulldozer is a Caterpillar 977 K.
Movie Magic Fact: To simulate the car regenerating itself, hydraulic pumps were installed on the inside of some of the film's numerous Plymouth Fury stunt doubles, a mock-up in plastic that looked more like metal on camera than actual metal as it bent and deformed. These pumps were attached to cables, which were in turn attached to the cars' bodywork and when they compressed, they would "suck" the paneling inwards. Footage of the inward crumpling body was then reversed, giving the appearance of the car spontaneously retaking form.
Seeing Double Fact: As a joke, Alexandra Paul's twin sister, Caroline Paul, stood in for her during the scene during the ride on the bulldozer. According to Paul, she took her sister to the set and, with the help of the hair, makeup and wardrobe departments, she dressed up as Paul's character Leigh and went to the set with John Stockwell to shoot the scene. They shot her sister Caroline helping drive the bulldozer and then Paul walked out and jokingly asked John Carpenter if he had fired her. Carpenter later admitted he had thought there was something different about her but couldn't put his finger on it.
You remind me of friend of mine in 8th grade we would look out the window at school and see if we could stump each other name in the cars that came up the street this was in mid 70s he knew every single car or truck
Make your own channel, nothing informative today
Additional Automobile Fact: The detective's car is a '77 Plymouth Fury
Yup, Christine is very petty!!😅😅😅
The one time, one time, I told my mother to get off my back was when I was 9. She proceeded to slap my back yelling “I’ll get off your back right now”, as she made a face only satan could love. I guess I should disclose that I have 5 sisters. I’m number 5. There are 6 of us. Don’t even blame her.
I suppose Christine flashing her headlights all movie was what we got for "key to the plot"...
The detective was in The Green Mile. Lmao the guy who did the rehearsals😂
toot LMAO! walking the mile! im sorry for all the bad shit ive done and people ive trampled on and hope they forgive me, ill never do it again.... thats for sure
This is one of those movies that you need to watch a few times. First time I saw it, I was a kid and not even 10; my stepdad thought it was ok lol
My thoughts:
Buddy is a great villian, reminds me of jim morrison though. Looks 35 and still in high school, a super duper senior 😂
Darnell is kinda a jerk but also a good character
Arnie has the best end of a horror movie groan of pain I have ever heard. His character arc into madness is an astounding one.
Love this movie. Was fun watching it with you
He wasn't grabbing a carrot, he was grabbing and squeezing the nuggets.
I was a senior in high school in 1978 - all the old muscle cars weren't more than 10 or 15 years old at the most! And mostly the young people had them. They were considered fixed up old cars, not collector cars! In my area (upper midwest) you could see them everywhere in the summer as people's daily drivers!
I miss the 80s and before. My ex husband and i had a 64 dodge polara and a 72 Plymouth road runner. His dad owned a 63 Plymouth fury - brother a 71 Plymouth satellite - neighbor had a 72 Chevell.
Oh my goodness my mom could hear us coming from a mile away!!
Fun Fact: Stephen King named the car after director George Romero’s wife Christine. This came about after working with Romero on the movie Creepshow. His wife Christine had small role as a character named Tabitha in the short story The Crate.
Pissing ices cubes means he's cool under pressure. Badass.
J is hilarious lol he fell in love with Christine, looked straight into the camera and said “I Love You” 😂 Great Reaction, haven’t seen it since I was a kid. 👍🏽
Christine had some kick ass white walls!!! Back in the day, your ordered the color you wanted & they made would make it for you. I remember looking at the color catalog with my grandparents.
This film is So Different from the book, that they can both be seen as two seperate things.
Both are really great in their own rights.
huh? This is one of the closer adaptations to Stephen King's writing.
I was just gonna say that. They missed a few things but from what I remember this is one of my favorite adaptions because it’s so close
@@Psilocybin77 have a re read of the book....
You'll soon see where the massive differences are, throughout the whole book.
Working on the construction site, LeBay's brother, LeBay's rotting corpse driving around with Arnie,
Buddy Repperton and Arnie's fight at Darnell's
How Dennis and Leigh getting together behind Arnie's back pushed him over the edge, Death scenes totally rewritten, as Darnell's house was totally destroyed,
How Christine was kept at the airport parking lot when she was destroyed..
And that lot is only off the top of my head
They couldn't include every little detail and Arnie's demise was not the same but they did stick pretty damn close to the source material.

people got into their cars differently after watching this movie 😂
The look of disappointment when the guy walked out with the radio was hilarious.
The Christene theme slays too, Carpenter recently remastered it with a kick ass semi new music video directed by him too GOAT
When this movie came out, in 1983, I thought it was going to be another version of an earlier movie called "The Car" from 1977.
I usually read King's books before they became movies, but if I recall correctly, in 1982 I graduated, and moved out of my parent's home, and just got busy with life for a short time and didn't do much reading for a few years. I was happy to see it was much for fleshed out than the movie The Car - and should not have doubted Stephen King.
Hey jay,, I just shared your video to all my horror groups and 80s groups on Facebook.❤ And each group got thousands of thousands of people on them,,
6:09 That ended hilariously 😂😂😂
"I feel like Christine is the victim..."
She snapped that guy's hand for poking around under her hood. Ladies like Christine don't like strangers sticking their hands up in places they shouldn't 😉
Treat Christine like a lady and and she'll treat you right. Do her dirty and it's your end.
What you said!
I love Christine ❤
She's gorgeous, yet vengeful and deadly if crossed😈
I love that you call her the " Detroit Demon Car 😈
Christine always gets her targets 😁
LOVE HER!!!💞
The book is fantastic, one of the few books I've read more than twice
For Halloween, I took a plain white carboard sheet the size of the windshield of my blue Chevy Equinox I named, "Hellen", placed it on the windshield and drew and painted the Christine logo like the way it is written for the movie and wrote, "Christine's BFF, Hellen". Then, on Halloween night, I placed a bowl of candy for the Trick or Treaters in front of the Equinox in the driveway, facing the street, with the bowl a few feet in front of the car ( and the cardboard sign on the windshield). And, everytime someone would come by, I would make the headlights turn on or make the horn blow or make the car turn on using the car key remote, as I was looking outside through my window in my house. I got a kick watching people's reactions.
1. If Buddy Riperton is young enough to be in high school so am I.
2. You're not going to get a decent car for $250 in 1979. I know.
3. He should have gone after Darnell financially after discovering Christine was trashed in HIS garage.
4. There was a story line where Dennis and Leigh were in a relationship but it was cut out because it would have made the movie too long and it would have changed the dynamic of their relationship with Arnie.
5. Loved Harry Dean Stanton.😇
6. Christine's windows were blacked out so we can't tell if Arnie is driving her or if she's killing Moochie, Rich and Buddy.
7. Arnie's "job" for Darnell is running hot stripped parts and drugs. That's why he had an alibi for the attacks.
8. In the book Christine's odometer goes backwards.
9. When Buddy gets his I'm, "Couldn't happen to a nicer guy".
10. Both Darnell and Artie's deaths are different in the book.
11. The odometer goes backwards.
1957 Plymouth Fury. My favorite line, "shit wipes off." And Buddy Repperton calling Arnie, 'Cuntingham.' The King book is very different but this is an underrated adaptation. I believe it's being remade soon.
Currently reading the book now!! Loving it! Read Carrie now this is my second “King.” Long live the King!
God Bless to you from my mom and I in So. Cal USA 🇺🇸 🙏🙏
I know this movie well! Watched it a hundred times, growing up. Pretty sure the old dude Arnie bought the car from was Kevin's neighbor from Home Alone, and I think the man what ran the garage was the one that Daniel ended up working for in Mrs. Doubtfire.
Yes. Same guy
If I was one of your boys I'm telling you right now, I would sneak into your car and set up a Bluetooth speaker to where the next time you got in and started it up, some 1950s rock n roll would start playing very loud just to see your reaction. 😂
Christine driving while on fire is an iconic horror movie moment. Grand Theft Auto Online even paid tribute to Christine this past Halloween by having a flaming ghost car identical to Christine randomly attack people in online lobbies.
The same actor played Rodney Dangerfield's son in Back to School
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Let’s hear it for John Carpenter and his 80s hot streak❤❤❤
I totally understand people that put so much care and love into their vehicles.
2:58 The reason is that the Plymouth Furys (which is what christine is) were only offered in buckskin beige, any other color had to be custom ordered.
That shirt is the greatest shit I ever saw. Best era Macho Man.
The original series quantum leap did a segment with a young Steven King showing this book. Still looking forward to the day laughing as you watch serial Mom
This is my shit, I love this movie. The car is F’N beautiful. The actor playing Artie was in Jaws or Jaws 2 he was the one who was on the inflatable boat trying to re inflate. That’s probably why he looks familiar cause this and Jaws 2 the only films I’ve scene him in. Idk about gremlins but, the actor who plays Darnel the garage owner he was in Last Action hero he played nick the theater owner.
He was also Rodney Dangerfield's son, Jason Melon, in Back to School!
@JL was a fun treat to see you watch and comment on another Carpenter classic. Great soundtrack as well from Carpenter to the song choices used
''The Car' 1977 is another fun (4 wheel) ride 😄
Keith Gordon is super under rated in this Dressed To Kill is another 80's gem with him in it. Dude was like 80's serious Michael Cera
I liked him in Back To School with Rodney Dangerfield, Terry Ferrell, William Zabka, Sally Kellerman, Ned Beatty, and Burt Young
The beautiful Nancy Allen (from Robocop) is also in Dressed to Kill 😍
I remember him mainly from Legend of Billie Jean
I actually loved him in Jaws 2 lol. He’s gone on to be a pretty successful director, I think.
@@kellifranklin9872 His impression from Mutiny on the Bounty was hilarious.
Fun reaction. Nice laughing it helped me get through this cold snowy day lol. Keith Gordon who played Arnie became a director. He Directed many episodes of the TV show Dexter.
Christine is hands down, One of My Favourite Movies of ALL Time. And I'm not even a Car person.
But there's always been something beautiful about The Finalities of Doomed Relationships.. brought about by Obsession.
The Other thing was, seeing Her Self Repair like that.. brings Warmth to My Carmageddon Fan Heart. 😁
Oh this is a good one!
The Home Alone Shovel Slayer is in this!
One of my favorite movies. I went to the 40th anniversary screening of it at amc a couple of months ago.
"that's my girl" LMAO gotta love that Detroit demon car 😂 BTW she's a Plymouth Fury 57' or 58'
The book (which is different than the movie in a number of ways) ends with Dennis saying he heard in the news that the last member of Buddy’s gang was killed in a hit-and-run. Then he implies that Christine has probably revived herself and will come for him and Leigh eventually
JL, about the colors...
When I was a baby my parents bought one of those brand new. They had it a few years so I can pretty well remember it. It was a beautiful shade of Coral.
I especially remember people admiring it. Or rather, I guess I should say admiring her.👀
Jay, did you notice that the old man that sold the car to him is the old next door neighbor of Kevin in Home Alone? Great video, btw! You can always turn my crappy days around 😊
Christine was a 1958 Plymouth Fury. They actually used two other Plymouth models as well, the Savoy and the Belvedere but the Fury was the main car featured. You would probably also enjoy another Stephen King movie that came out around this time, "Cat's Eye." It stars a young Drew Barrymore. It's an underrated film.
Ooh! A favorite from my teen years!
This is one of my all time favourite films and books.
I won't give any spoilers but there are some differences in the book, and you get more of Christine's backstory.
There are so many stylistic shots/scenes in this movie that just look so cool they stand out even today.
If ever there was a book I wish I had an original signed copy of, it's this one.
The book was great! Really went into detail
His single-minded purpose. His unending fury.
the reason Christine is red is because she was ordered with a custom paintjob
Christine is a 1958 Plymouth Fury
It starts off with the '58 Plymouth Fury being built in the factory, but the main part of the story is 1978.
Awesome movie, and a Great Reaction!!
That's right...Arnie said "She's 20 years old."
2:12 - 😂😂 I laughed my ass off! It’s been a while since we had a Detroit pop up.
You wondered if Christine came after them? It's been ages since I read the book, but as I recall, this couple went to college, broke up, she married someone else, then about 10 years out, he spotted Christine, out hunting him. He had to run, and was trying to figure out how to contact the girl and warn her before Christine found her, too.
I don't think that was Christine. She was crushed by Dennis and Leigh. Arnie was killed in a different car crash with his mother.
Masterpiece movie right there
Love that this one is getting watched. This is one of my favourite Carpenter films, The Thing being another. I love the use of score in it, and the use of classic music to denote what Christine is "thinking". Yes the novel and film are very different but as been said, they are both great. Keith Gordon is terrific and you see change in him, and Harry Dean Stanton is another great actor with good films under his belt.
This is going to be a FUN ride! What I do feel sad about, when it comes to the production, is that out of all the cars used, I think only one or maybe TWO remain.. ehm... alive, to this day.
I watched the wartime film: Where Eagles Dare" recently and was reminded the aircraft in the film, that used to work up until recently was destroyed in a crash. It is so sad so see things such as classic vehicles, some outlast wars and combat and years after or classic cars ending up lost to time and crashes.
The 1958 Plymouth Furies and Belvederes were only available in that sandstone beige. Christine had custom paint.
