And off we go! This is the first week's rows for our Windermere blanket! If you have any questions please post them in the FB group Ophelia Talks Crochet! Good luck and have fun! Anja x
I got married in Windermere 5 years ago. I absolutely love ❤️ it there. So you can imagine my delight finding this video! I’m relatively new to crochet so I’m hoping this isn’t going to be too much of a challenge for me x
Wonderful! What a setting for a wedding! You can do it, just take each stitch at a time, and if you need help why not ask in my Facebook group, the link is in the comments, everyone is friendly and no question is a silly question, Anja x
@@OpheliaTalkshow excited am I, my pack has just been delivered ❤ I did try to get on your FB but I was rejected by admins. Not sure what I did wrong 😂
Lovely so far! I’m doing a sampler with old yarn. Nothing too difficult - especially when you have such a precise way to teach to make it all so enjoyable. On my daily walk with my husband we pass by a field area where we see several rabbits. Adult with young ones - I love to think they are Mrs. Rabbit and all of her children.
I really cannot tell you how much I enjoy these Ophelia Talks tutorials. Anja speaks in such an easy and calming way and moves at exactly the right speed. I just am so happy and peaceful following along. Thank you very much.
Amazing!!! This blanket is amazing, your creativity is amazing but, most of all, you are an amazing and great Woman and a real Artist. This will become my new project. I also like the idea that this blanket is connected, in some ways, to the great Beatrix Potter I do admire. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you share with us and everything you teach us. 💞 Admiration and gratitude from Italy
My stash is taking over the house, so I will be using James C Brett Top Value DK. I have about 50 assorted shades and colours, so should be able to match Anja’s Colours very closely. I’m nearly finished the second repetition and it is looking amazing!
Just started my CAL this evening, hopefully I can catch up with most by next weekend. Lovely stitches as usual Anja. I love that each row has a name too ❤ Thank you 😊
Anya this is such a fantastic design!!! just last month I determined not to join anymore CAL until I used up left over yarn and at least finish off 1 WIP. I even hold myself not to peek at FB group and I intentionally did not watch any of the live and lookbook discuss this particular CAL... and then I click this video... The first 5 rows are practically a flower garden, who wouldn't want flower garden as blanket....!!! Now I have to start the project, it might take me 6 months to finish... But I will do this project.
I love this I will be starting tonight! Thank you so much! I love the names and I will be watching Miss Potter too! My Mum came over from South Africa and she has brought me some of the Royal Doulton Beatrix Potter ornaments. I will take a photo of them for face book. They are sitting proudly on top of my yarn stash! 😊
Take a look at my beginner tutorials and keep trying, it will click and then away you go! ua-cam.com/play/PL4OqcRdj5PUX5EbQVfKaTm-5eaEM7Zm69.html&si=cl6izI1VyIy1UGSJ Anja x
Funny thing today was the day we started the Windermere, I’m crocheting it for my 11 year old granddaughter, she doesn’t know lol but she texted me a video of her introducing me to a rabbit she seen in a park in Italy where they’ve been all Summer, not too far from Venice She named the rabbit Bob lol I’m really loving the colors and how you arranged everything
Thank you very much for the awesome tutorial 🙏😘💖. I will learn this too after I finish the other one that I’m making. I’m actually making a lot of scarves for Christmas presents 🎁 for my daughters and grandchildren children. That if I will be able to finish them all. Thank you 🙏💖😘
Anja, this will be my birthday project for this year. I have a tradition of having a birthday cast on( what do you call a crochet project, a chain on?) I had great fun with the Bridgerton blanket❤ Ordering the yarn today, so happy the last order galloped to Texas in record time. ❤
@@monicalozano9453 Anja’s Cals have been a hit from the first. Every pattern is carefully written and she has those marvelous tutorials. If I want a crochet project to make me smile and look forward to from beginning to end it is one on the Ophelia talks channel. ❤️
As someone who got into crochet late in life I know I’ll never be more than a beginner, but what I love about this design is that it’s clear and logical, and that Anja’s visual and spoken instructions are so easy to follow. This is going to be one more Ophelia Talks blanket that is a joy to make. I know I won’t be able to get into it till next year but that’s OK. It will end up, as usual, as a gift for someone, though I don’t know who yet. Actually I think I do. One of my students should get his Australian citizenship some time next year, by which time he will probably be married. I think it will be a very nice marriage gift.
I realized that in the Peter boxes row it had a pattern of 1st stitch of cluster below, last stitch of cluster below, ending with the center of cluster below.👍🏻🙌🏻🙏🤗
What hook size is everyone else using? I ordered the 3.5mm after seeing that size in this video, but it feels a little small to me compared to the yarn in doing a sampler. I want to check what results everyone else have before I change it.
Are you on Facebook.. ? You could ask your question in there and will get more replies, however I would suggest trying various sized hooks for your samplers to get the right feel and look you want. I use a 3.5 however to get the same size and look one of my testers uses a 5mm. Hope this helps, Anja x
I would like to order the yarn pack for the CAL but would like to know if you are using Wendy Supreme in your tutorials or Stylecraft Special DK and, what hook size you are using.
I used the Wendy yarn pack and the hook size for my tension which is 3.5mm Here are links to the pack and a video to help find the right hook size www.opheliatalkscrochet.com/crochet-a-long-yarn-packs/windermere-crochet-a-long-yarn-packs ua-cam.com/video/d3vEC2t1VQc/v-deo.htmlsi=WEMToGuPECMsA3OQ Anja x

The multiple for the blanket is 3 + 6 chains. For the sampler it was 33 (27+6). If you make the sampler and measure the width you get with your tension and chosen hook you can then multiple the chains accordingly. For example if you want it twice the width of the sampler you made it will be 60 (54+6). Hope this helps, Anja x

it is very easy to turn the popcorns ‘inside out’ so you can then have them all facing the same way, if you want!

If it is of any help, mine is working out as 55 stitches, for every 12 inches.
In addition, best results will be got using a chain that is an ODD multiple of 3, then adding a further 6 stitches. I.e. 9+6, 63+6, 117+6 and so on!
