This channel is not monetized. No copyright infringement intended. The movie is not mine, the reactions are not mine, only the hard work, time, and dedication of putting this all together is mine. I wouldn't call myself a hero, cause what's a hero? But sometimes, there's a man....

It's agonal breathing. It's the final breath of someone dying from severe trauma. It's incredibly awful to hear and the movie does a terrifyingly realistic job of portraying it.

I hate to say this but the image of the soldier getting shot in the head is exactly what such a thing looks like. The jerk of the head, the flapping of the hair, the dull expression. It's the most realistic portrayal of a head shot that I've ever seen in a film. It's tragic to watch.

Cool action movie, but there are actual documentaries out there about this event. Nobody can take away the bravery, training and valor of Americas fighting men. That said, it’s a SEAL specialty to get themselves into bad situations, only to have to be bailed out by Rangers and Marines. Mr, Luttrell was the sole survivor of this op, and I was shocked at seeing him in his first interview. Hes not ok, and that is all that can be expected. He will live with this experience, as we all will live with our experiences. Watch an interview with anyone who is considered a “survivor”, and you will plainly see the parts that didn’t make it.

  • @adamantiumrage

Awesome movie, but again just a movie. In the video filmed by the Taliban during the entire ambush you can clearly hear Murphy screaming "MARCUS, WHERE ARE YOU? WE'RE TAKING CONTACT!" presumably after this phone call, meaning Luttrell either ran off and hid, or maybe he got knocked out from an RPG blast like he said. Either way, shameless propoganda put forth by the DoD during a time of war and recruiting crisis. And that's coming from an Afghan vet.

@@seanking1775This is quite possibly the most uninformed opinion I've ever read. Saving Private Ryan was pure fiction, yes. But was inspired by the true events of the Sullivan brothers. Now Band of Brothers, absolutely not. That was factually vetted and approved by the surviving paratroopers of Easy company. The only qualm was the portrayal of certain characters (most notably Sobel and Dyke) and some shoddy research by Ambrose, which is understandable given the time period he wrote the book.
Lone Survivor is completely different. Once Luttrell was rescued, the DoD approached HIM about writing a book. They seized an opportunity to twist facts and information since he was literally the only one who survived the op and bastardized it into a valiant, heroic fight to the death rather than a SMU that had no business doing what they were doing who got caught in an L shaped ambush in shit terrain with no more than 10-15 enemy combatants. They'll never allow Mohammad Gulab go on record about how he allegedly had all eleven magazines full of ammo highly indicating he never fired a round at any point during the ambush. A book called Victory Point goes into way more detail about why the SEALs were there, what their mission was mainly that they only played a recon element to a larger USMC-led op.
Is there plenty of propaganda? of course. But not all, but this certainly takes the cake for something to be so easily disproved with video footage filmed from the enemy perspective.

Edit: Also read a book titled Victory Point by Ed Darack. Great read, and an eye opening account at how certain special forces tactics that worked so well in Iraq all but signed this team's death warrant.

Too bad everything about this mission is a lie. A cover up because 4 elite force men were jumped and overrun by 12 goat herders with AKs. When the line survivor was found by the villager he had all 13 mags he went into battle with. Didn’t fire a shot. The survivor did everything he could to silence the villager to tell the real story.

Dang, cuz here I was thinking the hijackers came from Saudi Arabia (15 of them!), UAE, Egypt, and Lebanon while Osama bin Laden was Saudi-born and eventually found hiding in Pakistan. Weird how the US never invaded any of those countries, and are huge allies to Saudi Arabia to this day.
Since the US pulled out, the Taliban use abandoned American bases and equipment to brutalize the country, even worse than before 2001. A lot of Americans dead in the sands of Afghanistan, and for nothing.
