The navy blue was gorgeous and even her grandma agreed on it but I understand where they’re coming from since the church can be really strict, though they could’ve done the grandma suggested about getting to dresses, one for the church and one for the party which is what I did too

I think her parents probably know what the church they attend will approve of and not approve of. Young people are forgetting that the tradition of the quince is a re-dedication of yourself to God and the Virgin Mary, replacing the vows your parents and godparents made during your Baptism. It is religiously significant, not like a sweet 16. It also has strong meaning for the parents because they are acknowledging that their little girl is transitioning into adulthood. Parents start imagining a quince for their little girls almost as soon as they are born. It should be important that young girls and parents work together for a quince that makes them ALL happy. This young lady seemed like she was really happy with her dress at the end and that’s what matters!
