Very good video. Thanks. Especially liked how realistic and honest it was, and that you didn’t rush through the whole setup and cook. Adventures in cooking. ;). Cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice indepth review of the real experience/ outcome. Thanks Ken!
Your welcome, I use this for my lunch every day.
Good review, thank you for fully showing the process
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for a full review.
Our pleasure!
Appreciate the in depth look at the whole process. I’ve been super curious how the actual process works.
Thank you
This was an amazing review. You did a great job showing off this product, and i like how you said i dont like to cook .😂 it made the review so real. I just ordered mine. The only thing I didn't order the starch cooker was because I'm waiting on a redesign. I think if they do one, it could match the suvie 3.0, but i do hope to see if you think it is worth buying the starch cooker and see a review on that.
I use mine every day. or Every Other day as I try to make a meal that I can split for two lunches at work. I did not buy the starch cooker and I have not needed it. The only thing I will say is don't let Suvie get away with any bad shipping of your meals, Make sure they are still all frozen when you get them and if not open a support ticket for a refund on that shipment. Other than that it's a great way to be a slacker in the kitchen :)
@kenstechlab thank you very much for the info I literally can't wait 😁
Ken, thanks for doing such a comprehensive video! We're to answer any questions you or your viewers have!
It was my pleasure, I use it everyday to make my lunch to take to work. See my website kenstechlab.com if you wish me to review any of your products.
Wow! I was looking for a long review and unboxing. Everyone else is just doing a short video. I wanted to see everything. Love this ❤. Do you know if this Sovi can can toast sandwiches? If there isn't, is there a button to stop the cooking before it finishes? I guess I could click bake, but it might burn if I don't end earlier.
I would not use the Suvie as a toaster oven. The meals that it cooks and the way it will keep food fresh until time to start cooking is its very strong points. Today I added a meal and had to be ready to eat at 12:50, the meal was done and ready at the exact time. You can stop the cooking process at any time before its done. let me know if you have any other questions.
@@kenstechlab Thank you, Ken!
Just setting mine up now. Suvie recommends using distilled water in the reservoir to prevent scaling. I did that. Made sense to me.
That does make sense. Just need a way to change out the water.
Thank you for walking through how to set this up for initial use.
This sucker is heavy.
Quick question for you or anyone else who may know....
We'll be moving in about a month. Since we have to fill this with water, this appliance will be heavier than when I first took it out of the box. Is there a way to drain the water? (I'll Google it, but maybe someone will have a good idea or suggestion). Thanks in advance. 😊
If you find a way let me know also. The previous version of the Suvie you could remove the container but not on this V2.
How much do the cooking trays, which come with the Suvie 3.0 Robot, hold? Cups or ounces of water would do as an answer because I am looking for their volume. 16oz of water by weight is equivalent to 16oz by volume. Same for cups as long as you are using water (e.g., a cup is 8oz in volume). 6 cups, for example, would be the same as 48oz, or 1.5 quarts, by weight or volume as long a water it the medium used.
Hello, I removed one of the Suvie Pans and measured cups of water. 7 cups filled it up with about 1/4 cup of room maby less. but 7 cups was at the top. Hope that helps.
Just ordered the 3.0 model today. I purchased a Tovala a few years back and have been using it daily (for toast and reheating items), but it isn't great at bigger meals. With a household with several different schedules, I'm hoping thatSuvie will do the trick. I apprecaite your honest review as many of the other YT channels are heavily sponsered by Suvie. So after 5 months are you still enjoying your Suvie? Was it a good purchase? Are you still using their meal plan?
Yes, Is the answer. It's a longer answer though, I was ordering from DoorDash every day for lunch at work and I don't eat dinner. This has been building up my cholesterol, Also its kinda expensive with DoorDash even being a member. I looked over the Suvie Meals and they range about 16 bucks per portion and each meal is X2 so that looks great, Now the truth ( I am a bigger guy) not all meals I feel work for 2 people but just 1 meal. Even at that its about the same price as DoorDash. With Veggies and good cooked meals my Doctor was very happy with the changes in my cholesterol. Sorry for this long story, lol Thank you for watching!
That's great news on your cholesterol. Keep up the great work. I'll let you know how my oven turns out once it arrives.@@kenstechlab
I'm in the same boat, Tovala isn't big enough. Did u like Suvie?
I currently have the 2.0 and upgraded to the 3.0. Im just waiting for the new one to ship..how long did yours take to arrive?
I received it very quickly, I was really surprised.
@@kenstechlab like a few weeks or a couple of months? My last gen took like 3 months
Did you follow up with suvie about the quality issues?
Yes, A few times!. they finally got it right and all futrure deleveries have been fine. The only missing peice sometimes are the cooking instructions. All cooking information is in the Suvie by name or google takes you to the Suvie instructions.
Love the Suvie, but food comes without dry ice. Some of the food is soggy in the packaging.
Please contact Suvie!, The same was happening to me, I contacted support. If the Dry Ice is all gone any any of the food has started to thaw. Dont Eat it but through it away. There food is way too expensive to accept any way but perfect. You will also find the bags unzipped a little and if frozen that is OK.
No matter what I try to cook in my suvie, it just says "heating up" and never stops. It will do this for hours until I give up and manually end the cook. Anyone else have this problem?
I have never seen that happen. Depending how old you Suvie is I would contact customer service and see what you can do. If your new to Suvie then maybe you need to change some settings. If you select a meal from the list and start. It should start cooking. Let us know.
What about refrigerate
It does a great job keeping my food cold until its ready to start cooking. I use this feature a lot as I make my work lunch for the next day. good question.
Good gracious. A teaspoon of salt.
Its season to taste, But who can do that with frozen food.. lol
can't believe the price of this. u could do a lot better with door dash, would like to see your cost break down
Actually; That is what I compared it to, My DoorDash is about $24 per order. The meals are for 2 @ 24-26 that means if I split a meal its $12 per day for lunch also the food is much better for you then you can get with DoorDash. I havel also lost weight using the Meals and not using DoorDash. Hope this helps.
This is good only if you are using their meals. If your cooking your own thing an oven is the same thing.
I would agree to a point, This is a Suvie and that cooks with water not just heat. Veggies and other things cook better using water also speeds up the cooking time without drying out the meal. You dont have to buy into there meal plan and just use your normal shopping items, Suvie supplies alot of great dish recipes on there site and in the APP. Also I do not know of any oven that will turn into a refrigerator until its time to start cooking and have the meal ready at your desired time. I use the Suvie every day for work lunch that I prepare the night before. Hope this helps to understand the unit.
What is the measurements
No one talks about cleaning ...
That is true, I make every work lunch with the Suvie, Some of the cleanups are time consuming like Chicken and Fish. The rest is very easy. Suvie shows using a dishwasher but that is stupid for the 2 pans and the roasting rack.
Seems too small for 2 T bone steaks or 2 rib eyes or 2 porterhouse and a side dish at same time
The pan that is included work fine for the meals that are purchased from Suvie. It will hold 1 of your big porterhouse stakes and a side, it’s more of a 2 person cooker not a family.
They shipped a used Suvie robot to me. I'm extremely disappointed.
Wow, I would be too. That is very disappointing. Also keep an eye on your food orders if you decide to order from them, I find the meal cards missing all the time also one ingredient from time to time.
already too complicated for my brain
Not really, Anyone can cook a great meal with this SUVIE, The instructions that come with every meal has the complete with pictures. The only thing you really have to think about is what meals to choose,
You should have washed your hands before. You touched everything else.
When doing a video, its alot of stress and forget things, :)
