First ride after replacing the stock tires on the Honda CRF450L & RL, WOW what a difference.

  • We replace the stock tires on our 2019 Honda CRF450L and 2021 CRF450RL and take them out for a ride through central WV on pavement, gravel, dirt, and mud. The new rear tire is a Dunlop D606, and the new front tire is a Pirelli MT21, this setup is a huge improvement over the stock tires, much better in loose dirt, gravel, and mud, while still very capable on pavement.

    Dude! So fun to watch. Miss my Xr650L riding days. No bike, no riding for the last 10+ years. Would love the 450. You're so fortunate to have a riding buddy. I was riding all by myself. I also put the D606s on my bike. Front and rear. I bit floaty on the pavement, but great off road.

      Thanks, we are very fortunate to be able to ride together. I took about 10 years off also and once I got back into it I wondered why I ever stopped

    I have a 2019 450L and when i initially saw all-red 2021 RL, I didn't like it. But now it's grown on me to the point that i'm loving the RL plastics even more than my own. This video has also convinced me to go with D606s; Thanks

      @@BillyTyo I’m in the PNW so considering it’s rainy season right now I’ve been dealing with a lot of mud. I’m still on the stock IRCs with 1300 miles on them... they’re definitely not doing the trick.

    I agree stock tires are just terrible. I could not hook up on dry grass at all just very slippery. Thinking about maybe getting another set of wheels to swap out for road trips a little expensive though

    Awesome videos man, I used to have the 250L and always wanted to ride the 450L. How’d you rate it compared to other bikes?

    • @aalejandro750
      @aalejandro750 3 роки тому

      I've had both, the 450 trumps the 250l in most areas except comfort and smoothness, the 450l is a little rougher to ride but tons more power.

      @@BillyTyo I've ran this tire setup on my 450L. I ran 20psi on the road, then dropped to 13-14 psi off road. It makes a huge difference in traction and in the suspension, try it out one time if you can. You can ride the street at those pressures as well for short distances if staying under 60km/hr.
