Many years ago, I had my first set of R1000. THey were ok compared to competitors. After saving a few bucks, I decided to go big, and bought the S330D (2.1). The power and sound quality is TOP NOTCH. Nothing beats Edifier (in price/quality). I will probably try these. I want to move to a 2.0 set up...
Those look nice, the inclusion of a remote is pretty sweet. As these speakers have a built-in DAC, to get the most out of them from your PC/Mac you should connect them via USB opposed to the phono/RCA jacks as those will just by-pass that completely and use your motherboards lesser quality one.
Is the volume knob on the back a digital knob? If you put it at max volume then lower the volume on the remote then can you turn up the volume again in the knob? Or vice versa?
Have you compared with 1700bt? Would love your input.. i listened to a sound test on youtube the 1700bt sounded warmer bass... but nothing compares to a real test
I listen to al lot of blues, (hard) rock, pop, music, mostley flac . I wanna bij these speakers for my bedroom (12m2) to listen some music and to amplifiy my tv. Do you recommend them ?
Very good, nice looking & small speakers, but unlike most Edifier speakers, these will benefit a lot from a subwoofer - If bass is your fing. If one don't want a subwoofer, than I would go for JBL 305P MkII. Pricier, but with better base and more balanced sound.
The Lunas are great, I've had them but returned them cause I could and I don't really know if these are that much better... You won't regret getting the Lunas, they're awesome and look dope...
@@DiogoReis Thanks for the reply, I've got the Lunas and have been very happy with them. Got them connected to the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 at 192kHz and they sound fabulous. Was curious if there would be any gains in getting the S880DBs
Rogerio Sertori Murcila I actually have 1700BT, I would say they are different, but I do like both, edifier has amazing sound stage, softer bass but strong mid range, overall feels very smooth. I use it as computer speakers. And HomePod is good for background listening, especially at low volume, I like that the bass is so present even at very low volume
Would you recommend these over the S350DB you reviewed? I want something with minimal hiss and these have USB inputs so I figured they'd be better than its larger bro?
It’s does not have the oooph of the 350 because it has no Sub but I would get this. It look better to me and the sound quality is ace. If you want the 350 I can send you them for free.
Vtudio Pro I never noticed it but I don’t have supersonic hearing. I think most speakers that are amplified have some sort of hum when not in use with the volume up

These are awesome
why do u want a 2.0 setup? I'm looking to change to a 2.1
@@1000vasco it is much easier to fit a 2.0 set up (next to the pc screen). The subwoofer for S330D is too bulky. For reduced space, it is a headache.
@@lbenegas But the subwoofer is supposed to go on the floor.
Edifier needs to provide more color options for these and they will sell much more.
Would be nice

Thanks for the info
what about bluetooth ?
I have the R1280 as my secondary monitoring reference and I think they sound really great for the money.
Nice :) they make solid gear
Watching this with my S880 with nzxt white case and white desk, I am missing a white/cream ultrawide monitor.
What connection is better USB or the AUX ?

Is Giorgio Moroder talking?
this is good for games , movies etc ?

@@DiogoReis fabulous. Happy listening
Great review! Do you think they are suitable as TV speakers?
I would say, yes ")
Cheers! Placing my order today/tomorrow! :D
@@vladair did you connect them to your TV ? Looking at doing the same myself , would be interested in your opinion ?
Hey Nigel! By far used them as my laptop/PC speakers... However, I can test them out on my TV tonight/tomorrow? BTW, really nice quality speakers.
@@vladair did you try it yet ?
can you control volume with smartphone when using bluetooth
you can use remote control
Hey I wonder how homepod compare to the Edifier R1280T on sound quality?
You had a answer?
