Hi from Atlanta Ga . I 1st started making wreaths when I retired from medicine. I was sell locally by word of mouth. I was asked to make a gravesite arrangement. She knew I hadn't made one before. She's been patient in each one. I believe I've gotten better but shape I've been missing on. So thank you so much for this video . I took a class from the lady that teaches thousands of people a month month and we have 2 to 3 live classes via Facebook a a week sometimes guest teachers between a wreath, a swag and arrangement. We've had a couple grave saddle but I've learned more from your videos and how to get my shape in this hour than in the two years that I've beentaken these classes. So I appreciate it greatly. I'm so glad I stumbled on your page. I see you haven't posted in 10 months. It'd be wonderful to see more from you to gain more knowledge from you. I hope you're doing wonderful up in the Shenandoah Valley. It's beautiful up there.

First time watcher from Mississippi. I'm new to this and dont have a pick machine. I've tried the wooden picks with the wire on the end but it is very time consuming since its a new skill. You are explaining so clearer and thoroughly I think I might can make 3 vases for a friend's parents graves.

Hello there! I am from Riverdale , Ga, about 15 miles south of Atlanta.
I first started making crosses a couple of years ago, then started with wreaths and now Ive added some baskets.
I started praying several years ago that God would give me creative ideas and annoint my hands, and slowly I began to have such a passion to make florals.
I watch tutorials for hours and then give something a try, and that's how it all started.
My niece ask me today if I could make cemetery arrangements and I told her I would certainly give it a try.
Wow......God had to direct me to you, what a blessing to watch you create, I can just feel the passion you have in making this arrangement.
I'm going to give this a try as soon as I can find all of the supplies, and I can't wait to see more of your videos..
Thank you so very much for sharing!

Sometimes I make them smaller, especially if a customer brings in a small vase and I make it directly in the vase after inserting a small piece of Styrofoam.

I didn’t know you could use artificial flowers with a pick machine. I thought it was only for fresh flowers.

Oh my, That is interesting. I have never heard of anyone using it to pick fresh flowers. It doesn’t allow the fresh stems to drink water. You can use on greenery such as lily grass or woody stems. The pick machine was designed for picking silks to go into styrofoam. Fresh flowers (if not in a vase) can be inserted directly into wet floral foam. Never try to insert fresh flowers into styrofoam. Some people use toothpicks to insert into the backs of certain flowers to create specialty sympathy designs that is then inserted into styrofoam. Thanks for watching.

    So you don’t glue ?

I will if a customer asks, but normally I don’t. The picks hold stems in place well enough. And we have some pretty windy times here, and my customers have never complained of them blowing apart. I put an arrangement on my son’s grave, never use glue and never had a problem. 😊

I never use steel pics on monument arrangements, only glue, the pics rust and can run down on monument and stain it.

Hi Linda. Great point. In the vase arrangements it does not matter because the water is inside the vase. As far as the pics in the foam for the headstone arrangements, most of our customers like to switch them out every 3 to 6 months, with the seasons or holidays. Also, I try to ensure that the pics are actually in the foam and not sticking out anywhere, so that cuts down on rust running.

I have done that before, but I felt like it was a little messy with glue strings, and my customers have not complained about flowers falling out or blowing out. However if they do request it, I absolutely would.

Thank you for watchingIf you watch all the way through, I hold it back away from the camera and turn the arrangement around several times so you can see. The video is more about “How to “How to”. There is no “front” side, it’s an all around design. Thank you for watching. 🌸
