India’s high commissioner to Canada discusses bilateral relations - May 7, 2024

Sanjay Kumar Verma, India’s high commissioner to Canada, addresses the Montreal Council on Foreign Relations on the subject of current and future relations between the two countries. Following his remarks, he takes part in a discussion with Concordia University’s Rahul Ravi.
Tensions between India and Canada have been strained following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s allegations of India’s link to the June 2023 killing of Canadian Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, B.C. The RCMP recently announced the arrests of three Indian nationals in the killing.
