Damn, I'm feeling that slam after just watching it. Happy Giving Day and thanks for the content as it's a nice contrast to all the other YT skate channels out there.
Love a good slam clip, if not the after-effects (currently nursing a possibly broken finger, a cracked elbow end, and some kind of enduring swollen calf?!?). But if you're gonna slam, nice to have a good recording of it! I keep a playlist of mine 😅
No comply’s are my absolute favorite trick!.. Only advice I can give, is as soon as you step pop the tail. So as soon as your lead foot hits the ground, do a little scoop with the back foot. Then hop and put both feet back on. It’s kinda like slappies, in that it almost doesn’t make sense till it just happens. My biggest pet peeve when it comes to no comply’s though, is the people that do a little hop, then hit their tale and do it that way. And I mean I guess some might say “yeah that’s a no comply!” But it actually isn’t the right way to do them. It should be one smooth motion for your step off and pop. I’d say just keep doing them every once in a while, and you’ll eventually get it consistent.
4 months ago is when the weather got bad up here in the north. Cant wait for the coming weeks. We hitting the 40s and 50s and the snow is gone! Back to learning how to ride for this newbie!
On the 180 pop the board with the whole foot across the tail rather than the toe. Helped me keep the board flat. I like the nose grab and finger flip no comply over parking curbs.
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope your festivities are joyous. Peace. ✌ P.S.- I've said it already, but I'll say it again since today is about remembering what we're grateful for. Thanks for hookin' a homie up with those new pair of shoes back in the day when I was down and out, soles gone and taped up! You and Max were some real ones. I'll never forget that, though you might've. I'm really happy to see your good karma being payed forward now with all the hook-ups you're receiving. You deserve them, bro. Keep up the good work g! -Jeremy B.
Yo happy thanksgiving, Jeremy! I didn’t forget, man. Glad to hear you’re back on your game these days, my dude. We’ve all been through some shit and needed a little boost up from the homies from time to time. It’s all part of the process and it’s all love
That Real board and the Varial flips looks fresh! Into it. One thing about the No Complys, since I just re-learned them a while ago, try to have your balance on top of your board the whole time with the board kind of spinning between your legs (nose coming close to your front knee when spinning). It sounds weird but once you find the right balance point and the right pocket of tail to push it it will be so easy.
for no comply 180 lean back before you pop (like you're going to sit down/powerslide), lift off from planted foot, then focus in on the back foot as it becomes the front foot. (once you have everything lined up againn, I kind of push that front foot forward -and then bring the back foot on the board- to keep it rolling that way; and pushing it in that direction is how I imagine the trick mostly. to me it all happens after the 180 and I nudge the front foot that way and catch it with the back foot.) Once you land these almost every time they start to feel pretty good.
If fakies feel like you cant gap it, fs 180 no complies feel very much like you are throwing it all over an invisible gap hence why I keep saying nudge the foot forward to keep it aligned or it'll overspin, the back foot swings around and extends in that direction to keep the board predictable. It's shape is like this 'b' if you're regular. Follow the whole right side of that letter b. Imagine and arc and then push foot straight up. You can also think teardrop shape. But I don't focus on the arc anymore but the push. So to me its more like 'd' or just 'I' or just 'north'. When u plant your foot make it propel you forward. Make that cause the spin you want. You can use your shoulders a little bit and arms but don't rly wind them up. The trick is all in re-aligning the board almost perfectly imo, feet back on before it touches the ground. Your body weight will be inside like if you were now NOT sitting but maybe about to fall on yr face, usually I don't turn my head because upper body keeps winding with momentum, just roll away looking down. Don't fear the no comply, if you want to also practice them as pop shuvits, inward heel pressure flip, fs 360 pop shove, practicing the motion of popping while stepping off and hopping in diferent scenarios can help. But just go for it, fs180 no comply will come if you don't fear them, for me it was landing switch. Til being switch started to feel fine. I still suck at pushing switch. But square with feet on bolts, I even incrementally bombed a hill switch recently. I want to enjoy riding switch and rolling away switch. Makes no complies a breeze now lol. I am just not scared of that trick and it does help. Good luck, and nice ledge tricks. ps.I've been working on back 50-50 but my box is only like 4' long and I tend to go into nosegrind with my front truck on and it goes 'klink' but then my body overshoots the whole board. I can just about lock in 5-0's if I try but those slide all crazy. I know I have to push down both trucks at once but it's harder than it seems. If you got any tips, I'd love to hear them. Back 50-50 is unravelling, but Front 50-50 just feels impossible to me. I'm about to start practicing stalls more, hoping it helps. I also want power ollie kickflips. My obstacle is a ramptech 5-0 skate table. I'm extending it soon, but I feel guilty in having not mastered the shorter one. @@dadboard
That's the luck I have. I could find a nice stair set somewhere only to have some stupid shit happen like an exterminator showing up to debug the steps or some stupid shit lol. I admire the freedom of sessions like this! Keep em coming!
That dude didn’t show up until like 10 min in lol I get he has a job to do and I’m the annoying one, but bro was literally pressure washing a sidewalk that’s already super clean and hardly anyone walks on 😂
I literally LOL at “the guy from 1993” in the bushes and the thought of a security camera picking up the filming of that 🤣 good sh!t as always happy holidays man 🤙🏼🛹

For no comply a you just put your foot in the pocket with you front foot hanging ready to come off and you can use the pressure to just tap the board in that pocket and it with do a 180 on its own and turn your body with it. TLDR make the pressure do all the work no scooping or anything fancy
Love the vids man. Just subscribed to you about a week ago. Your vids definitely make me wanna skate. Had to get a 45 min flat ground sesh today after watching another one of your vids.
That shape is very nicee.. and you never see someone varial that high I love em. And as a no comply guy myself the trick really is when you're coming up from the knees bent part as you're about to pop That split second of the weightlessness or the transfer of the weight going upward is when you take your front foot off..I honestly think though that no complying straight at an object is the best way to learn the timing. Sick video as always!!
Love it! Love skateboarding. love your work. Fingers are currently crossed that the wind blows this morning's rain dry so I can skive off work for a couple of hours for an afternoon roll before the school kids emerge. Windy af though, so...
@dadboard I did, thanks bro. First direction I went the rain was coming in so I went to a place in the opposite direction and found a spot drying off. With a little towel and squeegee work it was dried in about 10mins with the wind. Got almost 2hrs in before the wind maxed out and my board started going all over the place 😂
Man, I can’t thank you enough for your videos. I’m an older skater myself who let skating fall away for a little while. The last time I tried I had zero confidence and was afraid to do anything. Just an Ollie on a curb was terrifying. Your videos have inspired me to keep pushing and have fun with it while I still can. I just set a Real 8.5 myself yesterday and can’t wait to get out and roll around again.
Man that’s incredible to hear, so glad I could help motivate you to get back in the game. I went 13 years off the board so believe you can get back to it if you really want to. Stay motivated, man 👏🫡
Happy thanksgiving bro! Took a similar fall on a curb like that this morning after setting up a new board! Definitely feeling it, wish I would have been recording now haha
It’s almost like if I don’t take a good slam for a while I just know it’s coming so it’s kind of a relief when I get my dues out of the way 😂 I’m still on the try not to fall mindset everytime I skate but realistically we just gotta be prepared for it and try to stay in fighting condition for when it happens lol

I can’t do 8.38’s personally, they’re a bit too long for me. I tried to be 8.38 guy last year and couldn’t figure out why they felt weird until I looked closer at the dimensions
Got bodied exactly the same way on a fakie ollie fakie 5-0 on a greasy ledge missing the lock in 😂 melon sized bruise on the back of my leg where I caught the ledge on the way down
Nice skating! How does it feel to be back on the GelVickka shoes? Aay, nice to hear Jim Thiebaud is hooking you up. He was a pretty rad skater that I remember from a 1990ish SantaCruz video.
Of all the shoes I’ve skated only a few are really good out of the box, usually shoes need that week or two break in just walking around but I literally got these out of the package and hit the street and they’re amazing
I notice when I hang my foot off and basically just flip with my toes it pops and flips way better, you just gotta do it last minute so you don’t look like you’re about to do a varial flip 😂
Hey, have you tried straight (no turn) no comply or no comply front shuvs yet? As a man who also doesn't shine at no comply 180s, the basic straight no complys and the no comply front shuvs feel more natural to me. Despite being an illegal trick in the past, I think no comply front shuv can be really stylish if you can pop them a bit.
Nah man I’ve only really tried the 180 version. The straight on no comply’s seem like some wizard shit. I should learn them but I don’t even know where to start
For me I always think frontside 180 no complies are less effort than you think 💭 they are, if you know what I mean. Mine were really weak at first, but when you get your head around them then you can try and pop them higher and try to get a nice style going on.
i LOVE no complies. for the 180, try practicing by just putting your foot down, 180, then jump back on. this gets the jumping motion better, because sometimes i would jump too early. then just get the rotation of the board down, without committing maybe. just jumping off and back on in the place you normally put your foot down helps me warm up, especially for just a shuvit no comply.
also, i can do a no comply heelflip pretty consistently! they're fun and surprisingly easy. i wish i could show you the foot placement, its probably like a pressure flip (never done one). but i never land them straight, as goofy they turn right.
Congrats to the new gear! 👟👟 🛹 btw at this age I think throwing in a couple of “The Kneeovertoesguy” knee workouts would probably do wonders to all your tricks
Happy thanksgiving to all skaters out there 🦃🛹.. and when doing no complies (rather what works for me is) doing more of a shuv, rather then a scoop or pop. And once that tail hits follow it.
That was a really good session! 👍👏💪 Everything looked so good. 🛹👊 Today i bought a nice set of spitfire formula four classics 53mm for a really good deal and cant wait to skate them. For me the best wheels at the moment! 🔥
I got a set of those on ice! I’ve been on 54 for a long time but I may size down to avoid wheelbite and shave a couple oz off the setup for flip tricks
Holy shit I’m feeling that slam today lol 😭
That looked horrible! 😮 Thanks god you are ok.🙏🫣

i find no-comply is a little easier if i move my back foot closer to the bolts. just sticks to the foot with out flipping a little better.

Happy Thanksgiving brutha!!! Love the channel, was a huge push to get my 37yr old ass back on a board!
You're making it much harder on yourself. You'll have a way easier time if you use your feet on the board instead of your ass.
On the 180 pop the board with the whole foot across the tail rather than the toe. Helped me keep the board flat.
I like the nose grab and finger flip no comply over parking curbs.
honestly the big curb looks like the best spot ever, i'd never leave it. love seeing footage there
It’s a little trickier than it looks on film but I ain’t complaining at all.
lol @ ‘93 bush gatekeeper. lipslides on ledges were definitely frowned upon back then. nice that skateboarding grew up a bit.

Thank you! Cheers!
Do 180 no comply stationary, it’s like kicking it around and it’ll be like muscle memory, it’s how I learned them a while back.
Thank you for still making videos

No comply 180 is opening your shoulders a quick flow type not so precise but more swift like a dance 🕺
Once you open your shoulders lean in like you just started dancing with your lady set up your feet with your front foot half way on the board and your back foot in the pocket of the tail
Then scoop back foot simultaneously while pushing your foot off the ground pop then land
Note: it does not work so well with new grip but still possible once you have motion down all one move.
Thanks for explaining it a bit more in-depth, dude. I’ll keep that advice in mine 🤝
Best no comply advice. Put your foot between the bolts and pocket. Don’t put your foot on the tail.
Will try asap thanks dude 🙏

Happy Thanks Giving bro, enjoy the hollidays and keep shreddin it up 💯🔥😎🤙 if you need some instrumentals i got you jus drop the email...
i LOVE no complies. for the 180, try practicing by just putting your foot down, 180, then jump back on. this gets the jumping motion better, because sometimes i would jump too early. then just get the rotation of the board down, without committing maybe. just jumping off and back on in the place you normally put your foot down helps me warm up, especially for just a shuvit no comply.
also, i can do a no comply heelflip pretty consistently! they're fun and surprisingly easy. i wish i could show you the foot placement, its probably like a pressure flip (never done one). but i never land them straight, as goofy they turn right.
Congrats to the new gear! 👟👟 🛹
btw at this age I think throwing in a couple of “The Kneeovertoesguy” knee workouts would probably do wonders to all your tricks
My buddy does that but I’ve never looked it up. Maybe it’s time to
Happy thanksgiving to all skaters out there 🦃🛹.. and when doing no complies (rather what works for me is) doing more of a shuv, rather then a scoop or pop. And once that tail hits follow it.
Well I’m fucked because I can hardly front shove 😭 lol yo happy thanksgiving, dude!
