Can’t wait for the new new improvements! Lookin good so far
When a city or state really invests in a transit system, it shows. When they don't... well, we saw what happened with that with NYC Subway in the 2010s.
Yeah but Bart police aren’t on there at nights and if they are it’s only in Oakland. I like the progress.. I just gotta respond to the police being on the trains. More is needed.
Crowded trains actually make people feel safer so it’s a better idea imo. Hopefully they continue on this trend
What percentage are paying passengers?
About half
All of the numbers that they are citing are only for paying riders.
@@GovernmentIssued There are too many fare jumpers and BART does need to deal with this. But no more than 2-5% are actually evading fares overall. The vastest majority of BART riders pay. And almost all the fare evasion comes from a handful of stations that everyone already knows are famous for rampant fare evasion.
99.9%
Ahhh I see my friend at the end doing an interview, sametime she working on being a Reporter. Great practice 🤗
Just related to the conference.
There were large conferences and mega-events before. 30k people in San Francisco are not going to spontaneously cause the highest ridership numbers for BART if there's not already a massive increase in ridership.
It's easier to say you have increased ridership and it might seem busier when you've gone from 10 car trains to 8 car trains and from 10 minute to 20 minute headways per line meaning each station and line is more busy at any one time than if frequency was increased as well as capacity per trainset. C'Mon BART. Looks aren't everything.
They increased service bro
They literally got the top two highest ridership numbers since the beginning of the pandemic this week dude. And their ridership increased by 30% since last year. Ridership is definitely increasing with or without the service change.
Watch out for needles, drug residue and shit.
Dude, all the druggies switched to fentanyl. That does not involve needles in any way. Now it's aluminium foil.
And BART is actually pretty spotless these days.
Let’s talk about the numbers after salesforce
Week after Salesforce had about the same ridership. It was off by a few hundred out of almost 200k riders.
@@TohaBgood2 How about now?
@@quenepas415 Still about the same. Looks like BART absorbed the ridership gain just fine and is continuing to grow ridership at about the same pace as before.
Enjoy while it last, those flash mob teens will ruin everything again
Because office workers are forced back into the office. 😂
That means go $5 base fare instead of milage
And who's going to cover the rest of the fare? Are you down to increase taxes to raise money for BART?
That thing is a subway not a diesel train like metrolink and how about close down all freeways
@@kevinquirarte2365 BART is not a subway. It's an S-bahn - a very large regional rail system with subway-like infrastructure.
Subways don't do 80 mph and they don't have single lines that are 60 miles long. BART is a different type of system.
You're thinking of Muni Metro. That's a subway with fixed prices, short lines, more frequent stops, and slower speeds.
@@TohaBgood2 so its an electric commuter rail with underground so Basically Metrolink Subway Style like pretty much picture Metrolink and Metro fused together and pretens glendale and burbank stations as underground stations if Metrolink becomes Electric but compare to Metro Link Bart is still cheaper than metrolink
🧢
Was this filmed 8 years ago? I haven’t seen that many people jump on the train in a minute lol 😂 watch out for human poop and needles.
BART started a major cleanup about a year ago. Now it's reasonably clean and safe during the commute. I take it a few times a week now. It's not perfect yet, but 100x better than it was last year for sure.
BART is dangerous - stay off
The world is dangerous. You might as well stay in the house scary pants
Driving a car can be dangerous. Walking down a street can be dangerous.
Yup. A perfect conduit of customers for criminals. It’s like a buffet.
BART is still far safer than driving, even after the recent crime increase all over the Bay.
Stop with the BS. this isn't the F train to Brooklyn. Bart is safe and practical. If you really don't feel safe carry a weapon.
