This is a beautiful dish Adam! Love the leeks, love the creamy texture of the soup and of course the smoked haddock; really warm and comforting this is a thing of beauty! ✌🏻😍😎😋👌🏻
I've seen pictures of the village and it looks lovely too. I've got Scottish family, but do you know I've never been. Such a beautiful place as well. I need to visit!
I visited Edinburg for the first time and found cullen skink on the menu. I had no idea of what this was but I had to try it because of the name. It was delicious and it didn't stink.
The first time I visited Scotland, I had to try it, as a soup lover I am. And it was one of the best dishes I ever tried in my life! And look: I've tried so many foids in my life! I love to eat! It was love at first spoon... In the end of the trip of one week I had already eaten the cullen skink 4 times. Now I'm gonna try to cook it at home 🫶🏻 tks for the video, it's absolutely lovely❤ p s.: I'm Brazilian
Great job on this one, Adam! I really like how you've boosted the entertainment while keeping the substance. Such a solid development of this fine channel!
Thank you Yuri. Nice words of encouragement. These days I just like to let loose more. Its taken years to learn to be myself in front of a camera on my own. So thank you for the appreciation. Stay safe 😊
Love your positivity. Ohhh!! the Cullen skink recipe i will be trying, the video is now in my playlist. Take care of yourself man, you and your loved ones.
We’re definitely getting into soup weather here in the states. And obviously staying indoors, away from others is sadly necessary right about now. Looks tasty though. I’ve never tried fish in soup. I’ll have to try this. As always, love the content. The editing makes it so much fun. I’ve loved watching you really develop your own brand of video. Keep up the good work Adam!
Way to go Adam! Great cooking and you're very cute in this particular episode too. Now being in the states I'm wondering where I can get my hand on some high quality smoked haddock 🙃
Poor Mugs, smelling that fish and not getting any. Great recipe Adam, goin' on the menu as soon as I can find some suitable smoked haddock! My wife will love it.
🤣🤣🤣 I am not a morning be person. At. All. It takes a lot to make me laugh before I've finished my ☕,!! You, sir, make me a morning person! Please never change your mad ways!! 🤣🤣 Kisses to Mogs!!
Wey hey hey awesome Skink mate and I think Mogs agrees as well...! Looks so easy and hearty as well, so I'll be giving it a whack for sure... Thank you Scotland, thank you Adam and thank you Tescos for the bits I need... I might pimp it up a bit more with some fresh chillies, but that's just me...lol Cheers as always mate, lockdown will be over sooooooooooooooon (ish)..xxx
Never thought of making soup from fish.....but will give it a try......oh by the way Adam, think you are now suffering from lockdown fatigue....🤣🤣🤣....great video 👍
I dunno how I ended up on your channel after searching jelly omelette... but glad for it anyways! New subbie who’s now craving Cullen skink without any haddock or leeks.... 😔 Next grocery store run- doubtful tho I’ll find smoked haddock but I’m sure fresh/frozen haddock will substitute okay yes?
LOL! I honestly have never any sort of fish soup before, BUT I do love lobster bisque, oyster stew and clam chowder. I will endeavor to give this a try at your recommendation. Please keep doing that great cooking thing you do so very well! Be well and be safe! ~LR 💖 PS: Your little Mogs is such a "show-stealer!" Such a sweet boy! 😍
Hey Adam - so is that bread double buttered per Ms Lawson? :D What was up with that debacle.. anyway - thanks for the recipe - love a good soup on chilly nights. My fave is a simple potato, onion and ham soup. Anyway - stay safe!
Looks gorgeous butty...now you’ve done one of Scotland’s best...how about introducing the world to one of Wales best. Lamb cawl? P.s. don’t forget the side of cheese.😉🏴
Ok rather interesting, if you leave out the fish, you have a wonderful potato leek soup, which is also rather good. Love the shirtless shot on the roof rather funny.
Boy you could have fun with that name: stank, stink, scank, steek lol. Anyway I'm making a big o pot of skink as a starter for Thanksgiving dinner 😋 THANKS that looks soooo good.
It's delicious but quite filling. If having as a starter I'd serve small portions and probably let it down thinner with some extra milk. Great with some crispy croutons too. Take care and happy thanksgiving 😘
pls, make consomme?????? or try some HK food they are delicious!!! IDK why but I had diarrhea after having it but you'll make it clean lmao HK is Hong Kong I believe.
Three. Three different kinds of onion or onion-type veg. I can see why it's called Cullen Stink. But it looked awesome, and you're awesome, so I watched. Also, regarding the cat and dairy - you're right of course. It's bad for their stomachs. Onion is full on poison for them though, so that's an even better reason to not give your handsome boy any of the soup.
Oh for sure haha, tastes great though. Yeah I try to read up on what he can and can't have. But I like to vary his diet where I can so he doesn't get bored. Thanks for watching Stephen. Much appreciated bud
A fantastic, famous classic soup, chock full of flavour. So glad you stuck to the traditional script for this dish - I was in Oban a few years ago golfing with a couple of mates. They hadn't tried this soup so I ordered it for us in one of the sea food restaurants there (not the famous ee-usk). Unfortunately(!), the chef decided to go off-script and arty-farty and cook the ingredients separate - fish clearly not cooked in the milk. No flavour at all in this soup, just like drinking milk from a carton with bits of fish etc in it. This abomination did not go down well. Oban is a famous touristy town so there's gonna be some folks with a poor opinion if they went there.
Trout is delicious, sometimes called poor man's salmon. But arguably I'd say it's better. With it being a rich oily fish, it goes very well with horseradish. I would probably steam it in a foil parcel with lemon, a dash of white wine and dill. Serve with buttered new potatoes, peas and a dollop of horseradish on the side. Bliss. Also if you look up on my channel for 'salmon with beetroot and horseradish dressing' that dish will also work fab with trout as well
Come on, give yourself a pat on the back for a fantastic recipe to share with us -- thank you! One ingredient I add to many soups is... a little bit of turmeric! Why? Vibrant colour, positive health benefits and it seems to act as a food preservative. PS: Mogs is behaving as if there's fishy in this video...
Watching this now just before making it for Burns Supper. So post lockdown!! But made me laugh and can see how much effort you’ve gone to, to help support others back when things were grim!!! Garbled and poor grammar!!

One of the great soups! Thank you for watching mate
Yes a delicious meal, that was started in the coastal town of Cullen in the North East of Scotland.
Looks delicious. I live not to far from the village of Cullen. Brings back great memories.
