    Hi Saul,
    Love the idea of active recovery, I always used a drinks break but found it hard to get the player back into the swing of the session.

    Great drill. A couple of modifications;
    1. Turn on contact - get the defender to make contact instead of turning without feeling the defender.
    2. End of the drill isn’t working because when people see a line they stop. To get them to drive beyond the line they need a target beyond this. I like to have a ‘sideline’ beyond the end line. This encourages players to drive beyond the end line and the ‘sideline’ means they need to control that explosion / direction and slow down only as they progress along the line with their inside foot dribbling. This simulates bursting past players, keeping the ball in play and a change of pace by the sideline itself with the correct foot doing the dribbling. Much more game realistic and adds in two more basic skills because dribbling alongside a sideline is a skill as well as keeping the ball in before you begin that dribble.

      1 might be accurate but 2 certainly isn't if the defense is any good.

      @@nick1177 my point being that in the current version players do not explode beyond the line. They just stop and this doesn’t prepare them for good defenders. Driving beyond the line to the side is a better alternative. That is the behaviour to change and my suggestion addresses that point. But you are right, in my change there isn’t a defender for that section but the skills I suggest are about preparing to attack a defender while keeping the ball in play. And for most players that is a skill to be developed.
