I agree with everything you said about Rin... I equally rooted for her and feared her LOL. I also appreciated how you talked about how Rin still had visceral reactions when actually confronted war despite her training. I feel like in some books, characters are empowered by their training and seem overly confident on the battle field. But with Rin's reactions, it made her seem like a real person. I STILL have goosebumps when I think of Kitay's reaction to Rin's decisions at the end as well as Rin getting traumatized by her own decisions. I've never read something that captured such immense and conflicting feelings as I did with this book's ending. Your reaction & thoughts hit almost every mark for me and it was fun to relieve the experience of reading it by watching your reactions! Once I finish Dragon Republic, can't wait to the view your other thoughts on the rest of the series :)
